Free Mineral Make Up Samples from Ellana

I remember when Mineral Makeup became so popular, and you can only buy it from high-end stores that carry U.S. brands or ask a relative or friend from the States to bring you some home. Lots of brands mushroomed here and there and girls went crazy over them because of the promise of being all natural, longer lasting, good coverage and that’ll make your skin healthy.

Mineral make ups don’t contain ingredients like preservatives, parabens, mineral oil, chemical dyes, and fragrance, all which may cause skin irritation specially to sensitive skin. And because it doesn’t contain oil, it has lesser chances to aggravate acne-prone skin.

Acne is one of my biggest problems. Both sides of my family isn’t bless with great skin so it runs in the genes. During the later part of my college years, until after taking my board exams and up to now, I’m still suffering from mild-moderate acne problems. I’ve tried almost everything you can think of to keep them at bay. And putting make up on is and always a part of my life whenever I step out of the house. Sometimes I do think that some of the products I’ve used before contributed to my acne problems.

Benefits of Mineral Make up:
- May help in clearing acne because of the anti-irritating ingredients like zinc can be soothing to inflammations. Keep in mind though that it is not a cure for acne since acne can be caused by many factors.
- the lack of filler ingredients tend to be less pore-clogging.
- won’t make acne worse
- may act as sunscreens to protect skin from sun damage. The US FDA has approved zinc oxide as a skin protectant and titanium dioxide as a sunscreen.

I didn’t have the chance to try out imported mineral make ups because most of them are way beyond what I would normally spend for makeup. Also, I don’t think I will throw money for costly shipping fees just to have it shipped to the Philippines. But by  the time I was about to graduate from college, I came across a local brand that sells entirely mineral make-ups: Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. I reckon that  I’ve read a small feature about Ellana in a magazine. I was surprised that their products are affordable compared to the imported ones and yet with the same safe ingredients and quality.

It has been a while since I’ve known Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. I bought products from them too at their Megamall stall several years ago. I really love their items especially their mineral blush because they don’t appear too strong when you apply them on your cheeks; it just gives you the effect of a natural flush.

When it comes to their foundations, I can’t really remember if I bought one. But I’m sure I had used their blushes for some time. Ellana has a guide in their website on how to choose the perfect shade. Even though I was able to identify what shades would best suit me (with the use of their step by step guide), I still couldn’t decide which would be truly perfect for me. There are still other factors that needs to be considered like my skin being acidic. Another thing is that seeing just a photo of the foundation shade won’t really convince to me to buy unless I’ve been using it for some time and I’m just repurchasing.

I had somehow forgotten above Ellana because I’ve been receiving make ups as gifts from my friends from the US and I just buy at random. And then during the BDJ Box Event at Samsung Hall in SM Aura  a couple of months back, Ellana was one of the featured brands. So my sister and friends checked out their booth; they asked us to register and they gave us samples. I don’t know if the shade that I got was the perfect one for me, although I find it a little lighter than my skintone. And then just last week, I received an email from Ellana announcing their FREE FULL SET SAMPLE.
