So you all probably know that I love joining contests and giveaways from blogs, social media and other online communities. If I like the prizes, I usually take time to complete what’s required to participate and just forget about it after, never expecting to win. But my winning streaks have recently gone sour lately. Maybe to give chance to others hehehe... But I’ve noticed that once a month I still win something. Last May, I was one of the winners of the new REVLON ColorBurst Matte Balm from Clozette.co’s giveaway. All I did was to comment what shade I want if ever I’ll be chosen as a winner. Oh yes, it was that easy! And then a few days after, I got an email from Clozette.co informing me that I was one of the lucky girls who will get to try these new lip colors from Revlon. I even saw my name from one of their Facebook posts. This got me all giddy, as always! Hehehe!

After they have verified my deets, I received another email that my prize is on its way. One gloomy morning, I received a small package from Clozette containing the Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm. I’m not so sure, but I think mine was sent directly from their head office in Singapore.
The Colorburst Matte Lip Balm, is one of the newest lip color line from Revlon. They come in 10 vibrant shades and are infused with a Triple Butter Complex that surely give you bold and beautiful lips. It’s a burst of matte color with a balm-like feel.

I chose the color ELUSIVE when I commented on the giveaway, so that’s what they sent me. The ELUSIVE shade is a warm, medium pink color. I picked it because I know I can use this shade for everyday wear and pink-toned lipsticks really complements my skin tone. Based on reviews and what I’ve been seeing and reading, a pink shade also brightens any face and makes one look young and fresh.
Before I lay down my verdict, let me remind you that I am in no way a beauty guru or a seasoned beauty blogger/beauty product reviewer. Think of this as a chit-chat between girlfriends exchanging experiences about a beauty product. So here it goes:
* I love the packaging of the ColorBurst Matte Balm, they are like jumbo crayons that you can twist up as you go along using it. It is utterly super cute; really reminds me of my childhood days when I would pretend to use my jumbo crayons as lipsticks, but this time around this is a real make up. I can also easily tuck it away and bring it anywhere.
*The balm itself is super creamy, it glides easily when you apply it. It has good pigmentation too, but it wears off kinda fast on me and leaves a stain afterwards. I am not sure but I noticed that it changes color too, it becomes slightly reddish. Of which happens in most of my makeup, maybe because I have acidic skin.
*The finish is velvety matte; although, you know the problem when it comes to matte lip colors, they often tend to emphasize lines or dryness on the lips. So what I do is I moisturize my lips first with my Rosebud Salve lip balm and after a few minutes I apply the ColorBurst Matte Balm, which makes it more even better because the latter also contains loads of moisturizers (Triple Butter Complex of shea, mango, and coconut butter).
*I love love love the peppermint smell of the ColorBurst Matte Balm! And I kinda feel a minty tingling sensation when I put them on, something similar to those lip plumper lip balms and lip gloss. After putting it on, I felt like my lips are channeling Angelina Jolie’s lips. Lol!
I have this color!! I mix it with other lippies when I use it. :D
