Warby Parker

With chapters all over the country, 826 National helps students hone their writing skills for maximum benefit down the road, and encourages teachers’ to support their students’ similar creative interests and imagination. Reading and writing have always been important to the two of us. For 826, enabling children to pursue these skills is critical for a lifetime of creativity and success, and we’ve frequently looked for ways to back-up their endeavors—whether it’s supporting their Valencia chapter by donating a portion of our sales from 2013’s Man of Steel collaboration or donating artists’ fees and album proceeds from Beck’s Song Reader album, released earlier this year, to the organization. In March 2014, we opened up shop in the Upper East Side and debuted our Honor Bar where customers can snatch up a few clever tchotchkes; they’re not obligated to pay but we pass on the donations to 826.

Our friends at 826 are pro-imagination, pro-curiosity, and all about the enormous power of reading and writing. We’re fully on board with these things too, and we’re so delighted to continue our ongoing friendship with our newest collaboration with 826NYC and 826LA.

First, a brand-new pair of frames, Kidd, in the ever-classic Revolver Black. Each limited-edition frame is engraved with an edition number (out of 826 pairs produced) and is available in both optical—in honor of their NYC branch—and sunglasses in honor of their branch in L.A. Kidd’s round lenses and keyhole bridge are a natural fit for bookish activities and goofing off.

A little intellectual, a lot of fun. We’re also sponsoring two original publications showcasing students’ work: The Review from 826NYC features poems, short stories, and essays contributed by their program students, and 826LA’s Activity Book, a digest of prompts and projects for kids (and adults!) to fill in. Starting October 21, Warby Parker x 826 Kidd frames will be available for $95 in our New York City and Los Angeles retail stores and online; the books will be sold separately. Proceeds from book purchases go back to 826.

Winter has a lot going for it: woodsy textures, icy-cold sunshine, any excuse for plaid, the first frost…
The six new rich tones and eight new shapes from this year’s Winter Collection will help you put your best foot—or face, rather—forward, even in the event of a polar vortex.

We mixed stainless steel with acetate, freshened up existing silhouettes with color treatments, and renovated classic shapes for unshakably confident options with a lot of character. Available November 4 online and in stores and showrooms; starting at $95
