I have told myself quite a handful of times that I will not wear or buy rompers or jumpsuits. At first I convinced myself that it wont look good on me and it'll be a bit of a hassle to wear them. But when I finally decided to buy and try one out, I really liked them and they became like a drug that's so addicting.
A romper is originally a young child's one-piece outer garment. But for adults it is a garment typically worn as overalls or as sports clothing. It is an odd mix between a top and a dress and most often worn by women nowadays. They used to be a piece of clothing, originally referred to the functional one-piece garments used by parachuters/skydivers. More recently, it has come to be used as a common term for any one-piece garment with sleeves and legs.
Pilots, motorcycle racers, speed skaters, manual laborers and other sports persons are the usual people who would wear them. But now rompers and jumpsuits have reappeared from time to time in high fashion, where it is often attractive to designers because it has an unbroken line running from the neck to the feet and can be flattering on some body shapes.
Fashionable jumpsuits and rompers come in different lengths, designs, prints, materials, and silhouette. While browsing my favorite online shops like Rosegal.com, I've seen a lot of looks which seemed like limitless. There are sleeveless ones, off-shoulders, one shoulders, tube, long sleeves etc. I love how pretty they are when you wear them, some are casual and some can be worn for parties and clubbing too.
Jumpsuits are generally regarded as a garment of convenience, as they are simpler to launder, put on and remove than an ensemble outfit. The only inconvenience that one can encounter with wearing jumpsuits is that it is necessary to remove the whole piece of clothing entirely for bathroom use. Which can be a bit tedious to remove and put back on.
