Holiday Fashion: A Resort Style Guide

If there were a survey to be conducted all around the world asking people what their favorite time of the year was, it is safe to assume that the majority would vote for the holiday season. Any time off work spent on a trip that is meant to unwind and rejuvenate you is a great time indeed. However, after you have put your finger on a particular destination and picked your resort, it is time to get those suitcases packed, and we are here with a concise yet encompassing guide on how to look your best – resort style. Let us hop to it.

Do Your Homework
If you are traveling to a destination you have never been to before, one of the essentials is that you learn about the climate. So, for example, if the humidity levels are high, make sure you pack light and breezy as far as fabrics go, which means, only natural, breathable materials like cotton and silk (for the nights out). Linen and jersey blends also travel well.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 19

So I just wasted my weekend because of this stupid flu that I'm nursing since Friday night. Last week I also wasn't feeling all too well and had to miss a day from work; and I thought I'm doing ok but no, this flu is persistent and it finally caught up with me. Well, I don't have a healthy lifestyle at all and I'm not taking any vitamins either and chugging down more coffee than water, so that's probably why I got sick.

Yesterday after work, I went straight to sleep so I will be refreshed before attending a foodie meet up near Valle Verde. I was able to function the whole time but I can't really mask the the feeling of sickness and I was sneezing like every 5-10 minutes. My foodie colleagues even went to some food park after that event at Sangkap, and me? I went home... Waaaahhhhh! I wanted to go with them but my body is failing me.

Pablo Cheesecake Mini at BGC High Street

Pablo Cheesecake is Japan’s most popular freshly-baked cheese tarts and it has opened the first flagship branch in Manila last September 2016. People went nuts about it because, well, it is popular in Japan and it's made of cheese. Who doesn't love cheese anyway? Learning that it is new and the only branch that they have opened is only in Robinson's Place Manila, I knew I had to put off in trying these cheese tarts that are making so much buzz. I'm not patient enough to line up for it.

Pablo Cheesecake originated in Osaka, Japan and was brought to the Philippines by the Suyen Group, the same company behind Bench, they're venturing on food now, I see... It is a home-grown Japanese dessert store that has several branches in Japan and abroad. Besides their classic cheese tarts, they also offer other pastries, cheese puddings, cookies, drinks, and soft served ice cream.

My Third Mumuso Korea Mini-Haul

And I'm back with my latest Mumuso  Korea haul. If it's still not that obvious that I'm addicted to this concept store, well I am. anyhoo, I got these items a few weeks ago, almost 3 weeks to be exact. Every time I passed by Venice Grand Canal mall before going to work, I can't help but enter the Mumuso store and check out what I can score.

For this haul post I actually got 5 items; the first four were bought in one day and the other items I bought another day. On my very recent visit, I got another Arbutrin serum, I'm addicted to it and I don't want to ever run out of it though my latest is still 3/4 full. With the latest buy, I also finally got to bu the Aloe Vera Hydrogel, the one in a tub. You can check out my first two hauls, I've writtem the links at the end of this log post. So without further ado, here are the latest items I got from Mumuso Korea.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 18

So, it's already Monday Manila time. I forgot to schedule this post; I thought I did auto-publish this before I went to sleep. Now I am awake 12 hours later and find out that this entry didn't publish automatically. Well, it is still Sunday in some parts of the world so this still counts.

Warning, TSC entry is heavily loaded with Beauty and the Beast raves haha! So I just got home from the movie date I had with my officemates. It's supposed to happen later this Sunday night but we all decided to just do it on Saturday night instead. So after coming home from work and getting crazy and nervous while booking our movie tickets online (because they're selling out so fast), I went to sleep to atleast have some rest before our Saturday night out.

Keeping Traditions with Tsoko.Nut Batirol

9 out of 10 people like chocolate, the 10th person always lies hahaha! But you know, it is always a good time for coffee and cake right, especially if chocolate is laden in every drink and cake. So one Saturday from one foodie meet up to another, me and my fellow foodies squeezed in a detour to this coffee shop called Tsoko.Nut Batirol somewhere in the Tomas Morato area.

Tsoko.Nut Batirol is an all-Filipino cafe serving locally sourced coffee, dishes and desserts. Tsokonut is a local and well-known snack made of chocolate and ground nuts, while Batirol actually refers to the metal mixing pot used to prepare the hot chocolate beverage while they use a molinillo (wooden whisk), to manually blend the chocolate.

5 Make Up Look That Guys Love

At the time of beauty, women have a powerful weapon that works miracles: makeup. It hides the granites, disguises dark circles, highlights the look and what is even better, and enhances the natural beauty. Make-up is something that a woman can never miss. We all makeup to feel beautiful, enhance our attributes and, although we often deny it, we also do it to capture the attention of the opposite sex. The truth is that there are different styles of makeup, so you have to look which you will use to conquer the boy you like.

We all have our preferences when it comes to makeup. Many have their traditional style, and others love to innovate in colors and techniques. But what about men? Do you like faces with makeup? Men always admire the beauty of women and if they have a touch of makeup, much more. You need to keep in mind that men always prefer to see the woman more naturally, so try to make sure your makeup is not too loaded.

Burger Company: Burgers, Bacons and Boardgames

We go to a diner or restaurant it is obvious that we are there for the food. But when a place gives you more than that, it's something, it's a level up. Where can you go to find burgers, bacons and board games all in one place? Burger Company! Burger Company used to be the Boulevard Diner but was reinvented as a place that specializes in Burgers and other chows created by enthusiasts of both good food and board games.

The place is nothing fancy but definitely artsy! The resto's facade is covered by murals with its grill just beside the entrance. Couple of tables occupy the inside with a huge rack filled with hundreds of board games. Customers are allowed to use the board games that aren't open yet; the ones still in plastic are for sale.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 17

Skipped one Sunday of my TSC series, forgivable? Yep. I was craving sleep last Sunday that I had to give in and it resulted to an almost 14-hour sleep! Man, imagine how much my head ached after over-sleeping (if there's such a thing). Anyhoo, not much ganap has happened this weekend. I was busy setting up my internet connection yesterday until today. I know a little bit on how to set up and troubleshoot but sometimes, you can't really find what's causing the problem.

Since I don't have any events to attend to this weekend, I spent it doing all the errands and things-to-do that I've been putting off for days. I also spend this day as my "me" time. After coming home from the mall, I immediately went straight to doing some DIY pampering. Treated my poor hair with a hair treatment that I just bought, did my nails, my eyebrows and some body salt scrubbing while taking a shower. Those were badly needed and I'm glad I finally got the time to do them. Later before I go bed I'll apply some face mask using my Mumuso Aloe Vera gel and the eye mask that my office mate gave me.

Vamos A Comer at Sobremesa By Chef Benjo Tuason

I'm glad that I get to live in the era before and during the thrive of technology. I remember the good old times like it was yesterday when life was simple, playing with my neighbors on the street, reading stuff printed on paper, the smell of books, the summer afternoons spent playing, and of course the home-cooked meals. Do you still remember when the whole family would sit down during lunch or dinner and after finishing the meal no one gets up just yet, but spends time talking about what happened during everyone's day.

And then, there came technology. We all meet each other for coffee, lunch or dinner but most of the time our heads are ducked down and fondling our smartphones with our fingers. Don't get me wrong, I love technology and how it has made all our lives easier. But there should always be balance to things (and life in general), right?

Big D's Smokehouse at Venice Grand Canal Mall

Couple of weeks ago I got to attend the grand launching of Big D's Smokehouse in McKinley Hill’s Venice Grand Canal Mall with members of the press and other bloggers. Though this resto opened months ago. It is owned by Chef Dino Paulo. Hence the Big D brand name. Big D’s has been around the market for some time now and have other branches in Katipunan Extension and Eastwood City.

Big D'S Smokehouse is a southern -inspired restaurant that specializes in classic southern style BBQ. Fore-fronting their menu is Chef Dino’s own spin on the world famous barbecue pork ribs. Using only the finest ingredients, Big D's soft-bone ribs has a sweet and tangy flavor, rubbed and smoked making it distinct from others.

It’s great to take a walk or use public transport when you’re going somewhere instead of taking the car. Also, it’s wonderful to see that fewer plastic bags are being used. Still, there is much more that can be done inside your own home to make it more environmentally-friendly.

My Second Mumuso Korea Mini-Haul

Yes, I will admit it, I'm addicted. Addicted to Mumuso Korea's skin care products and make up (they even have their own rosehip oil brand!). I went back one night before I go to work, with the aim to buy another bottle of the Arbutrin serum because the one that I have running out. BUT, being me, I browsed through their beauty product section for a while and ended up getting 3 more items hahaha! I went to try more of their products because the first few that I bought did wonders to skin and the makeups are great as well. If you haven't read my first Mumuso Korea mini-haul and review, you can check it out here: Mumuso Korea Now In the Philippines.

3 Summer Wear Essentials Besides A Swimsuit

It’s freaking March already! And you all know that signals summer in this side of the world. Though since this country lies in the tropics it is basically 365 days of summer in the Philippines. I haven’t got any concrete summer plans yet but I’m already making some plans.

Speaking of plans, I am the type of girl who plans my trip down to the last details and that includes what clothes I would bring on a certain trip. Like for example, if I am going to somewhere where the weather is a bit cold then I would bring apparel that is appropriate and would not bring swimwear or clothes that would not keep me warm.
