The Benefits of Drinking Water for Your Skin

Out of desire for beautiful and lovely skin, people all over the world are turning to concealers, cleansers, makeup and other beauty products, not realizing that the key to glowing skin is within their reach. While a regular skincare routine is important for your skin, it can never substitute the indispensable role of water. Considering the fact that your skin is composed of water like any other part of your body, it goes without saying that drinking enough water is essential for its health.

Maintaining skin moisture
The skin has a protective film called the hydro-lipid layer that consists of water and natural oils and fats. This layer maintains the moisture of the skin by slowing down the evaporation, regulates the pH value of the skin and protects it from damage. However, the moisture level can easily drop due to unfavourable weather conditions, unhealthy habits, such as drinking alcohol, smoking, and poor nutrition. Since dehydration causes your skin to become dry, flaky and tight, it’s important that you drink plenty of water to maintain your skin’s moisture level.

Loumar's Cafe & Restaurant at Solenad 2

When in doubt or can't decide what to eat always go back to your roots. Basically what happened to us when we made a stopover at Solenad Nuvali last weekend. I was with a large group and it took us a few good minutes to decide where and what to eat. The decision to dine in a restaurant offering Filipino comfort food became an inevitable choice.

We end up at Loumar's, a local establishment founded in 1997 serving southern Tagalog fare. Loumar's Cafe and Restaurant serves Filipino food and the best Buko pies and fruit flavored tarts from Tagaytay. As for the restaurant's ambiance, I couldn't put my finger on what ambiance they want to achieve. There were booth tables and long tables with faux vines hanging on the ceilings, a mix of quirky, vintage and native decor accented the restaurant. But you can definitely conclude that it is a place for families and groups.

Marinduque Travel Diary: Lucban Side Trip

"For her the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself. And when she returned to the city, you could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, and taste the infinite salt in her lips.” A quote by an anonymous author which basically sums me up and God only knows how much I'm dying inside that I only got set foot on a beach after a year!

Work, time, budget constraints and all other things hindered me from doing so the past year. But this Summer I made sure not to miss going to the beach anymore. It's been calling me and my soul has been begging me to go, just go (haha! I write and think exaggeratedly most of the time) Good thing me and my friend Clara finally found some time to hit the beach.  Our destination? Marinduque

Now Open! Go Hotels Cubao: Offers Accessibility for Business and Leisure Activities

Cubao is the commercial hub of Quezon City. It is said that anywhere you want to travel by land in Luzon is accessible through this transportation hub, as it intersects across many of the access ways to the North, East and South of the Metro. There are many viable options in the area that include ever-present taxi service, the MRT and LRT lines, and the buses with city-wide and provincial destinations within easy reach. Aside from these, Cubao is also where one can find the Araneta Center - the iconic shopping, dining and entertainment mecca.

These are some of the factors that prompted a niche development group Roxaco Land Corporation to establish one of their five Go Hotel franchises along bustling Aurora Boulevard in Cubao, Quezon City.  With the opening of Go Hotels Cubao, they offer leisure and business travelers the same value propositions of all the Go Hotels branches in the country. “First and foremost, it is value for money. We have our standard rooms that offer a quiet space with comfortable beds, a good shower, a flat screen TV and the convenience of easy check-in and check-out. We strive to make their stay as hassle-free as possible with a level of hospitality that has been remarked upon by the guests,” says JJ A. Montinola, AVP for Business Development, Strategic Planning and Communications at Roxas and Company Inc.

Vanderlust Bistro + Patisserie Tomas Morato

When travelling, I am more excited about trying the local food of a particular area. Most often than not I also buy delicacies to bring home with me and give to family and friends. Just like when my friends and I went to HK last year, I already researched where to eat and made sure to eat HK street food as much as we could. I believe that a cuisine of a place tells a lot about it and is what separates it from other places.

If you would take time to get to know the history of a lot of restaurants that serves international cuisines in Manila, they are usually inspired by the travels of its owners or from where their roots came from. This is exactly the story behind Vanderlust Patisserie and Bistro but this young player did not concentrate to only one country or region, but a continent: Europe.

Zaful.com Haul # 7 + Review

Hey hey hey! What's up y'all? I hope you're all having a good week and if not, that's ok, weekend's here anyway. As for me, this week's been cray-zy. Well painful to say the least cuz I have been nursing a toothache for almost a week now. I have been popping pills to stop the swelling and infection before this freakin' tooth gets extracted. Good thing there are things to pick me up. Just like this recent haul that I got from Zaful.com.

This haul includes two new dresses and two accessories. The moment I saw this on Zaful's site I immediately added them to my wish list and thank goodness when I decided to finally get them they're still available. Most hot items from Zaful sell out pretty fast so yeah I'm glad I got them before they run out of stocks.

Empacho Restaurant x Bar

Empacho is a term (Filipino, Spanish and Latin American) that is characterized by the feeling of indigestion and/or feeling full after eating too much. Of which happens to me most of the time hehe, especially when I’m eating my favorite comfort food. I always say, I’ll just take small bites or portions but when the food gets you going, I end up getting empacho.

There’s a new restaurant in Tomas Morato that offers Filipino soul food with a modern take and it’s called Empacho. And yes, you will enter the restaurant hungry and will definitely leave with a tummy twice the size of your usual empty one. Empacho is your new go-to Filipino restaurant and bar that opened last April 2017.

Tropical Summers with Zaful

I am no celebrity, fashion blogger or whatsoever but I am very much inclined to clothes and fashion and I know I owe it to being greatly influenced by my family’s background and involvement with the apparel business/trade. Due to that I have the tendency of at least having a minimum of two weeks gap when repeating clothes. I hate to admit it but I really struggle when it comes to buying clothes and shoes; I can live with just enough make up, bags and accessories but with clothes and shoes, they really make me weak. I’m sorry if you might think that it sound so shallow, but all of us have certain obsessions in our lives and yours doesn’t make me any worse or you any better, mine just happened to be clothes and shoes.

The same also goes for when I attend an occasion or travel, I don’t usually repeat wearing the same clothes, especially that I will take a lot of photos and eventually post them online. Don’t be judgmental though, it’s just me being me and nothing more.

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend. All I know is that they last forever. Being a girl with simple dreams and aspirations, I don't think it is my best friend though. I would be a hypocrite if I say I don't want one. Of course I do, maybe I'll buy one for myself one of these days or someone with good and pure intentions will put a ring on my finger. If ever I'll get one someday, I would probably get me a vintage one or a vintage-looking one.  I like everything vintage and I've bookmarked some that I have seen on Pinterest and online.

I like diamonds because they are very representative of life. A diamond is merely a lump of coal that did well under pressure. Just like a diamond, it can’t be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials. And lastly, even the most beautiful diamonds have flaws too.
