Blog Re-branding: Sand Under My Feet

I just remember a friend's Viber message to me a few days ago and it said: "That's good... change is good..." I must admit I am someone who sort of resist change but not entirely not open to changes. I know a couple of people who are so resistive of change that even their driving routes never change even if they will get stuck in traffic for hours, or people who only eat in certain restos even if food and service aren't what they use to be 10 years ago. They just do it because they are used to it.

I like change actually, I like trying new things, eating unfamiliar dishes and travelling to places I've never been to, trying different routes going to work, new make up, new skin care, etc etc. I had a hard time deciding if I should re-brand my blog... actually only for the fear of losing my web ranking, my site isn't at all well known or a household name unlike others. But there are posts in my blog that are already landing on Google's first page.

After a lot of thinking I knew I had to rebrand. Even though I already have a couple of hundreds of page views a day I don’t think people remembers my blog's former name. Even my siblings can’t pronounce it properly like it is some tongue twister. Whenever I tell people my blog's name they go like: "What's that again?" Basically thinking of a blog name that is overly unique wasn’t such a genius idea after all... because it is not memorable and it doesn’t mean anything. Felt like a bunch of blabber actually... I want something that has meaning to me...

So after putting much thought to it, I finally decided to rebrand my blog. My blog’s name is now SAND UNDER MY FEET and my new URL is www.sandundermyfeet.com.

I know I can't proclaim myself as a beach bum because I don't religiously or regularly go to the beach and I am not tan and all. Moreover, I can't claim that I'm a "mermaid" since I can't really swim well  (but it is my goal to take formal swimming lessons).

Not a beach babe nor a surfer girl either. But all those reasons doesn't hinder me from enjoying the sand, the beach and the sea. If you have noticed, most of the places I have been to included beaches. I am not afraid to have my skin get toasted under the sun or my hair being ruined by salty sea water or my clothes gathering so much sand that if I gather them all, I can build a small Zen garden out of them.

When I am sitting there on the sand, the waves hitting my feet over and over, gazing through the sea that doesn’t seem to have limitations, playing with the powdery white sand which were once creatures living under the ocean...

I can’t help but be grateful to that Someone Who majestically created all this beauty and allowing me to be a part of it. And for making me realize that there will always be more to life... we just need to stop, notice and appreciate it. That we, like that one grain of sand are nothing but specks of dust in this universe, yet we matter and make a difference to make things and life meaningful and beautiful.

The bottom line is, there is a certain calmness...  peace... serenity... being one with my God... that transcends through my soul every time I feel the sand under my feet...
