Varra Restobar - San Juan's New It Place

I can’t remember a time when I would consider going to San Juan for a night out with friends. Shopping, yes, because of Greenhills shopping center. But many of us don’t realize that even before BGC or other gastronomic destination ever existed, San Juan has been a stable area for food finds and I'm not only talking about restos in Greenhills but also neighboring vicinity like Wilson St., Annapolis St., P. Guevarra St. and Little Baguio.

I recently discovered a newly opened restaurant along P. Guevarra that will be surefire hit to Boomers, Gen Xs, Millennials, Gen Zs alike: Varra Restobar. Although it is a restobar, their menu can cater also for families as they both offer familiar and contemporary local and international dishes. It's perfect for millennials and the way younger generation because they also offer an array of libations.

One of My Favorite Restos, Bistro Charlemagne Is Now Open at Ayala Malls Manila Bay!

A foodie friend posted a question on Facebook asking what is or are the best restaurant/s his friends and followers have visited this year. I haven’t commented yet because I was thinking of the restaurants that blew my mind away. There are plenty; but, one of the first few that came to my mind is Bistro Charlemagne. I’ve learned about this Euro-Asian restaurant during our stop at Solenad Nuvali during a Tagaytay-Sta Rosa food crawl, where. And since then it has become one of my go-to place.

I was ecstatic when Bistro Charlemagne opened a branch at Ayala Malls Feliz because it’s on my turf! I’ve dined there several times with friends and families and have suggested it to them as well. One of my friends even brought her family there and it her dad loved it. Now, Bistro Charlemagne has again opened another branch last November 2019, that will cater to clienteles of the South West populates at their third branch at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

There's A New Milk Tea Place In Town: JLD Dragon Philippines!

Will the milk tea craze cease to exist? I guess not! Filipinos patronize and love milk tea so much that a lot of brands from neighboring Asian countries continue to venture out to our shores. Who can blame us? We love sweet stuff and milk tea is something that is affordable and easy to bring around. It's a dessert and drink at the same time, giving us a bang for our buck.

A new player in the Philippine milk tea arena is JLD Dragon which has over 30 branches all over Asia and is now in the Philippines. Hails all the way from the milk tea capital of the world, Taiwan, Ji Long Tang, better known as “JLD” is known for its crave-worthy drinks and desserts that are sure to make you come back for more.

Dear-Lover.com Haul # 1

I just recently watched a satire commentary regarding fast fashion and as much as I wanted to agree with what was narrated in that show, being a thrifty person and wanting to save money for more important things like travel and such, I always go for fast fashion more than going for branded items. Not that I can’t afford branded items, I just most often times feel I’m being ripped off, I don’t know if I’m just stingy or what, but I always believed that I can find almost the same thing, if not completely the same, in other stores for way cheaper prices. That’s why I always opt for fast fashion.

There’s nothing actually that bad about buying fast fashion. I just hope no ethical stuff is going around in the production of the fast fashion items that I buy in retailers or online. If I’m going to be honest, there are times that if I opt for fast fashion, I don’t get what I really want, especially if I acquire them online. But then there are instances that I need to wear something just once, say like for a themed event and such, fast fashion comes in handy. You don’t have to spend so much for something that you will only wear once.

Revisited: Salamangka - Eastwood

So, I revisited Salamangka and checked out, with a friend of mine, the new menu items that they launched a few months back. The first time I was there, I surely enjoyed all the dishes that they made us try. I particularly loved their infused cocktail drinks and appetizers. Nothing much has changed to how the restaurant looks like, it’s more of their menu that they have revamped and added a couple of new dishes. This time around, since it was a casual dinner, we decided to get just food.

Salamangka is a Tagalog word which means “magic”. "Magic has often been dismissed as either primitive and irrational and therefore alien to modern society, but until now many people believe in it. In the Philippines, folklore and “salamangka” is still prevalent even in this day and age especially in the far-flung provinces. My mother is from Capiz (and Iloilo) and whenever I say this to people they always retort back with a joke that “madaming aswang dun ah” (there are so many mythical monstrous creatures there).

Lovely Sunday Fine Dining Lunch at Bistro Manuel - Poblacion, Makati

I don’t see what’s the matter with people who fears or dislike fine dining. Ok, I get the dread of thinking about fine dining etiquette, which spoon or fork to use, etc. But honestly, you shouldn’t care. If you’re there to treat yourself for some great quality food, which everyone of us deserve, really. I mean if you’re working hard for the past couple of years or months, you must give yourself some form of reward, and food is on top of that list. Go all out and drop by that restaurant you’ve been dying to visit. You don’t know what to get, which utensils to use, go ask the server, they’re there to help you out. Plus, there’s nothing wrong with asking, absolutely NOTHING.

Most days, I eat fastfood, convenience store food and the occasional fast-casual. So, it was a breath of fresh air when my friends and I decided to try what Bistro Manuel has to offer. One will be surprised to find this fine dining restaurant in one of the busy streets of Poblacion Makati. When you think Poblacion can’t surprise you anymore, well here it is. You have this connotation that Poblacion is just for partying, more than that it’s a place for gastronomic finds from the meagerest of budget to the extravagant ones.

There's A New Grilled Chicken In Town: Chicka Chicka Chicken House - Bridgetown Libis QC

I laughed so hard when my friend James tagged me along to try this new grilled chicken restaurant in Libis, Quezon City. My foodie friends and I have been eating chicken dishes for weeks now; I told him, “Chicken nanaman?” (Chicken again?) and he jokingly retorted “Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t di tayo nagkaka-pakpak!” (We won’t stop until we grow out wings!)

I’m like ok, let’s do this! Who am I to turn down such invitation, because nothing appeals to me more than healthy and delicious eats, that is why I like anything grilled. I love how grilled food is simple and packed with flavor. The smokiness of grilled food is itself already a gastronomic ride. And rarely that you get to see and taste grilled food that has little to no seasoning but gives you something to revel about, and that’s just what Chicka Chicka Chicken House’s grilled chicken delivers.

Importance Of Maintaining An Irrigation System For Your Lawn

Let it be a sprinkler or drip irrigation that you have installed for your landscape, it is important to maintain your property’s system constantly in order to conserve water and maintain a healthy landscape by cutting down overall expense. Regular inspection and maintenance of your irrigation system will ensure that the grass, plants, and trees on your property get sufficient water all through the season to look lush and healthy. You may include the following features in your irrigation maintenance strategy:

Key Points to Maintain a proper Irrigation System
Be season-specific: With changing seasons, your irrigation system’s schedule will vary. Each season will have a different temperature and humidity that can affect the landscape. Hence your irrigation system has to be adjusted in such a way that your landscape gets only sufficient water in all the season. You may even have an environmental sensor installed in your irrigation system as this can monitor rainfall, humidity, soil moisture, and freezing temperatures and accordingly distribute water to your landscape.

Your Dentist Know Best!

Patients often forget that their oral health requires a lifetime’s worth of care. Failure to follow the recommendations of a dentist in Edinburgh and patients will almost always find themselves in the dental chair seeking treatment for any number of concerning issues. Dental issues are by and large progressive problems, which is why implementing and maintaining preventive habits is definitely better than having to undergo invasive treatments.

Survey data released by Simply Health collected in a 2019 study indicates that six per cent of adults avoid the dental chair. The reasons listed are diverse and include; affordability (35 per cent), dental phobia (36 per cent) and treatment not considered necessary (11 per cent). Avoiding the dental chair for whatever reason is not responsible, as only a professional eye is best able to reliably detect potential future problems and prescribe an appropriate plan to get the oral health of a patient back on track.

How to Relocate to Asia in 5 Easy Steps

Asia has always been an exciting continent and a place lots of people from the Western world migrated to. There are lots of reasons why that’s the case, but the mysticism and appeal of this area are still present. But, moving to Asia isn’t the easiest thing in the world, no matter where you come from and how old you are. That’s why you need to prepare for that step in advance and do whatever you can to make your transition as easy and simple as possible. If this is something you’re about to do as well, here are five things that should help you.

Find out where you’re going
There are generally two reasons why people move to Asia – it’s either a matter of choice, or they do that because of their work. In the first scenario, you’re probably an adventurous person who’s looking for some excitement, and if sure Asia is the right place for you. In the latter, you’re moving there because you have to, and not because you want to, so you might not be as excited about this move.
Whatever the reason is, you should find out as much as possible about the place you’re going to, and get ready for whatever’s waiting for you there. You could pick a friendly country that’s easy to move to – places like Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, for instance – and make your move even less stressful.

Buying A Flagpole: Here Are The Factors To Consider

Buying a flagpole is tricky, particularly when you are doing it for the first time. Even those making a subsequent purchase for replacing an existing one may be baffled while choosing a replacement. The sheer variety in sizes and styles in flagpoles can leave you confused. Since this is an unconventional thing to shop for, you may require some research to understand what really works for you, where to buy from and the optimal price to pay. Let us list some key factors that you can consider while buying a flagpole.

Start by considering the purpose
The first thing that you need to bear in mind is the purpose of buying the flagpole. Obviously, a garden flagpole to be installed in your backyard will not be the same as the one for commercial use. They will differ in terms of size, material, and strength as commercial flagpoles should be more sturdy and prominent as compared to the ones to be installed in homes. Clear things about your needs will definitely help you pick the right product that matches your needs.

How to Recover from the Flu Naturally

Every year, around five to 20 percent of the world's population will fall victim to the flu, a contagious and relentless virus. It spreads easily from person to person and leads to a host of unpleasant symptoms, such as fatigue, body aches, chills, fever, coughing, headaches, and a sore throat.

Most sufferers will overcome the flu on their own within a week of falling ill. If you are keen to avoid this and recover from the flu the natural way, here is how to go about it successfully.
