A Perfect Beach Look for Your Resort Vacation

Summer is almost here and you’re probably already really looking forward to the resort vacation you have booked. Now is the perfect time to plan what you’re going to wear but also how you’re going to take care of your skin and hair while you’re spending your vacation on the beach. Looking good, but most importantly feeling good will definitely help you enjoy your holiday to the fullest so make sure you take care of yourself even while you’re sipping cocktails on the beach.

Take care of your skin
Number one thing on your list when you start packing for your vacation should be sunscreen. You want to enjoy your holiday as much as possible and getting sunburned will definitely ruin your vacation so make sure you put on sunscreen with a high SPF religiously unless you want to spend a part of your vacation red and then the other with your skin peeling. Also make sure you bring good moisturizing creams for your face and body so your skin doesn’t get dry and flaky. Another important thing to remember when going on a vacation is getting plenty of liquid. Make sure you drink plenty of water because keeping hydrated will keep you healthy and your skin and hair looking good.

Zaful.com Haul # 5 + Review

Ola chicas! How's your week so far? As for me, it's still and as always, toxic week at work. So just like always, work has been very demanding, nothing new about that, thus my go-to de-stressing activity is some retail therapy and food trips. These two are past-time, well besides blogging and other stuff. Anyhoo, today I’m sharing with you my latest and fifth Zaful mini-haul. I chose some random clothing pieces this time. Solely basing on what I haven’t purchased that are saved in my wish list cart. Btw, this is another collab post with Zaful but rest assured I will give my most honest feedback and review.

The shipping took around a month and as always slowed down once it reached the Philippines. We have an archaic postal system still so it took like more than 2 weeks before I received the package. I like that the items was placed in individual zip lock plastics bearing the Zaful logo, pretty neat if you ask me.

Singlish Cafe: Singaporean Hawkers

I haven't been to Singapore but it's on my travel bucket list. Going on a holiday to Singapore I heard is quite expensive since it is one of the Asian countries that is first world and has a thriving economy and tourism. But if ever I'll go there, I would likely to spend my hard-earned money on food especially at their hawker centers.

Singapore's cuisine is very diverse because of the many influences it has. Malay, Chinese, Indian and British fares compose the Singaporean palate. Good thing that is for now I can still enjoy this well-versed cuisine without having to ride an airline. There are a couple of restaurants in the metro that serves Singaporean hawker food like Singlish.

Causeway Seafood Restaurant: Authentic Cantonese Cuisine

I have always loved Chinese food and I don’t consider it really as an international cuisine at all. Chinese food is one of my comfort food. If you’re not from Asia, you might not know this, but China even before the Philippines was colonized by Western countries, already had a great influence to my country, The Philippines. From culture, to race/ancestry, to tradition and of course, to food. So never be surprised if we have Filipino dishes that are almost similar or contain a greatly-influenced Chinese taste. Heck, we even have the oldest China town in the world (well except for the ones in China of course! Duh!)

Although we have a lot of Filipinized Chinese dishes, sometimes I still crave for the authentic ones. But it’s not every day that I can go to Chinatown and enjoy eating close-to-authentic Chinese food. So where can I get a quick fix? One of the well-known place where there are a couple Chinese restaurants that Pinoys can go to is Banawe in Quezon City and one of these restaurants is Causeway Seafood Restaurant.

Gamiss.com Haul #2 + Review

Summer! My favorite season of the year and though the temperature is high off the roof, I would never trade it for anything else. Good thing that I live in a tropical country where most, if not all, of the time the weather is always sunny and great. Thus, buying swimwear doesn't have to only happen during the summer season. Because on any given time, a spontaneous beach trip or pool swimming might just happen.

I already have a handful of swimsuits, but just like shoes or bags, a girl can have too many of it. It's allowed, really. I buy swimsuits on a regular basis, like every couple of months or so even if I don't have any planned beach trips ahead. If I like something so bad, it goes straight to my shopping cart. I may not always have a swimsuit ready body, but just like Ariel says: "But who cares? No big deal... I want more..."

Happy Third Anniversary Zaful!!!

I visit a lot of online clothing stores and I have a few favorites where I get my apparel, shoes and accessories from. I like shopping online because it saves me time, energy and money. I can do it on the go on my smart phone or while doing other stuff while I am in front of the computer. No need to drive or commute to the mall, fund a parking slot and walk around.
Although there are downsides to shopping online, doing it for a couple of years now, I still have hits and miss. But because of those experiences, I somehow managed to learn a few tricks and most often than not I get good stuff. I also make use of coupons, free shipping promos and sales/promotion.

Best Vitamins for Hair Growth: A Complete Guide

Hair is really important. Don’t believe us? Just ask Rapunzel what she would’ve done when trapped in a tower in the middle of nowhere, if she didn’t have her long hair. But, having beautiful hair has its aesthetic perks. Of course, healthy and strong hair doesn’t just happen. It needs to be nurtured and taken care of. Besides the shampoos, hair regenerators, masks and sprays, it is also imperative to feed the hair from the inside, with the vitamins that enable it better growth and health.

Biotin – promoting strong hair growth
As one of the most efficient vitamins for promoting hair growth, biotin is a B-complex vitamin that is sometimes also referred to as Vitamin H. It increases the hair’s elasticity, protects against dryness and prevents breakage. Furthermore, biotin contributes to natural production of keratin, an essential component of healthy hair.

Amici: New Menu Launch - Ayala Triangle

Amici is an Italian term that means "a friend". When Filipinos come across Amici, many are transported back to the nostalgic times when it first started out as a cafeteria in Don Bosco, Makati. Amici di Don Bosco dates back to 2001 and was founded by Fr. Gianluigi Colombo, a Salesian Italian priest in charge of overseeing the operations of the Don Bosco Makati Printing Press. Fr Colombo introduced Italian coffee and gelato, brick-oven baked pizza and homemade pasta.

News of great Italian cuisine served turo-turo style spread like wildfire, attracting patrons from all walks of life from all over the metro. Customers experienced a certain warmth and charm, where the staff treated every customer with special attention. The legacy of Fr. Colombo providing authentic Italian cuisine for friends and family continues today with the Moran family and Executive Chef Paolo Moran at the helm.

Gabe's HomeGrown Dishes Katipunan

Gone are days when Katipunan was our go-to destination for partying or drinking on weekends. But the food scene in this area never died down. In fact there joints here that have thrived (say, Bannaple for example), as well as some that closed. One of the fairly young players in this area that is aiming to be a neighborhood destination when people want to satisfy their comfort food cravings is Gabe's Homegrown Dishes or simply Gabe's.

Gabe's is quaint little restaurant on the second floor of YDG Building along Katipunan Ave. Quezon City across Ducati. It was named after the owners' first born child. Gabe's offer homegrown dishes and prominent menu entries are local to the town of Malabon where the wife of the owner hails from.

1. DIY wall art
There’s basically no limit to what you can create when it comes to DIY wall art. If you want to stick to the minimalist trend, one statement painting that you can paint yourself with watercolors may be the right choice for you. Using cardboard and decorative washi tape to create patterns can look really expensive, but the process is easy and fun. On the other hand, you can make a wall collage by sticking your favorite photos and printed quotes on the wall in a specific shape. Heart is definitely the most popular shape for this trick. Moreover, you can play with different words and motivational messages and paint them on your walls or paint them on paper using attractive font and hang it on the wall.

Deep Sunsets at The Deck - Vask Tapas Room

I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for sunsets. When I was younger, everytime I see sunsets, I associated them with sadness. It's like day turning to darkness, all hope is lost and chaos is about to begin. But that was then; now I see sunsets in a different and  beautiful way. It is, for me, one of mother nature's ways of showing off. So whenever I see one, I snap a shot to capture all that glorious moment.

Where can you get a beautiful view of a sunset when you're in a city, but on a roof deck or a veranda of a high-rise building, right? I used to spend a lot of time during my days off from work on my sister's pad's balcony; sipping coffee, admiring the sunset and talk endlessly with C until those cerulean blues get a well-deserved shut-eye. Those moments added to the reasons why I love sunsets so much.

Agape Pastries and Tartines - SM Megamall

I love it when a business has a story behind it; having a history behind any business makes it more alluring to clienteles, well, for me at least. Agape Pastries and Tartines is exactly that. Agape's owners conceived this restaurant out of their love for food and their annual journey to their favorite Manhattan New York French restaurant.

Agape Pastries and Tartines opened in October 2014 offering wide array of French and Italian-inspired restaurant located in Congressional Ave., Tandang Sora, QC. I visited their flagship store early last year and was delighted with all the food that I got to try. But to be honest going to QC to check out restaurants, is rarely on top of my list. I would usually go somewhere in the Ortigas Center, Makati or BGC because they are pretty near where I live.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 22

Ah what a weekend! Adding to the busy week at work was a busy weekend. I attended food-related events 3 days in a row this weekend. Starting Friday with no sleep (still have work on Friday nights), Saturday with very little sleep and  Sunday with almost reasonable sleep. But it was fun! Foodie meet ups are always fun!

It's May in a couple of seconds and how time flies so fast, the next thing I know it's my already birthday and then the holidays. I don't know if I want time to slow down or go quickly. I want it to slow down because I want to do a lot of things; and then I want it fast forward because I want some things to happen asap. Anyhoo, keeping this short as I'm super sleepy.

Your Hair Is Your Identity

Hair is identity. How you wear it says quite a lot about who you want to be and where you’re headed that day. Think a no-fuss high ponytail for the gym or an elegant chignon for a black-tie affair. I, myself, believe that my hair is my identity and ever since I hit college and up until now that I’m already a professional worker, my hair has always been quite long.

I’ve never wanted to cut my hair short for the fear that it won’t suite me or it won’t grow back that easy and faster than I want it to be for whenever a long bob is not a good decision. I always wanted to be adventurous with my hair but only when it comes to color. But sometimes I get to the point that I want to have a new look so I always get into this cross-roads of cutting it. I haven’t found the courage though, not just yet.
