Dating While Travelling: Can You Find Love on the Road?

Sarah met Marcus at a food stall in Hanoi. She was struggling with her Vietnamese pronunciation while ordering pho, and he stepped in to help. Three months later, they were living together in Melbourne, planning their next trip to South America. Their story started with noodles and broken phrases, then grew into something neither expected when they first packed their bags.

Travel changes how people date. The usual rules disappear when you're sharing a twelve-hour bus ride through the Andes or waiting out a monsoon in a Cambodian guesthouse. Time moves differently on the road. A week feels like a month when you're spending every hour together, exploring temples at dawn and drinking beer on plastic stools until midnight.

How To Handle Your Money – From A Millennial To A Gen-Z

They say being a millennial is the best generation yet so far. Although there are so many stereotypes about millennials, like, this generation is quite entitled and worse: lazy; don’t believe those stereotypes. It’s just that millennials do not like putting up with nonsense or have the courage to speak up for any maltreatments. Millennials are named lazy because we have begun the non-traditional way of living. This generation started the work-from-home or work-anywhere kind of lifestyle – which profoundly made realized that “it can be done” during the pandemic. That we didn’t have to stick to a routine nine to five job and slave ourselves to work.

I don’t know about you, but I believe that the past generations have shaped what the present that we have now, and future that we still to experience. There were results that the past generations produced that became beneficial to the present; yet, sadly, there are still those that ended up being unhelpful. This is where that saying “we must learn from the past” comes in. Just like what George Santayana said, and I quote him “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

The Rise of Stock Photography - How to Make Money Selling Your Images Online

I was asked to write this blog with the title “The Rise of Stock Photography” but the thing is, the traditional world of stock photography for an individual contributor is beginning to crash. The stock industry has hundreds of millions of images between all the agencies and tens of millions of images are being uploaded each month. It’s a lot of work for a single contributor just to upload 50-100 images each month in their spare time. It’s getting to be virtually impossible to compete. Putting your 50 images up against 5 million is a tough hill to climb. Sales are slowly dwindling and are virtually all subscriptions which means you’re only earning pennies for each sale.

But can you still generate any kind of an income selling images online in the current business climate? The attraction of doing stock photography is you can set your own hours and work out of your home. You don’t have to open a little shop, mat and frame prints, or set up booths at art fairs or knock on doors of art galleries. Just shoot and upload images into your online portfolio.

Prioritize self-care
Prioritizing self-care activities is key to finding time for oneself. It can be tempting to try to do everything, but it is important to remember that self-care should be at the top of the to-do list. When you take care of yourself, you will have the energy and resources to take care of your family and responsibilities. Choose activities that you enjoy and that bring you peace and relaxation, such as yoga, meditation, or a bath. These activities can help reduce stress and improve your overall well-being.

How To Keep The Memories Alive

The prospect of losing someone and then forgetting who they were is among the most terrifying aspects of the experience. There are many ways to memorialize a person who has passed away, each of which can assist you in recognizing and honoring the exceptional qualities that they possessed. Don’t Try to Change Everything at Once
It’s a big mistake to think that you can change everything at once in your life. Unfortunately, things simply don’t work like that. If you try to change too much in one go, you end up simply falling short and making mistakes. So don’t fall into that trap. Healthy changes need to be manageable and sustainable for you if they’re going to have a truly positive impact on your life.

A Lookback To My Growth as a Blogger/Influencer

Whenever I think back about why I started blogging and where I am when now relating to it, I always feel mind-blown and humbled at the same time. During the time I started my blog, it was also the time of the rise of social media. We were all still basically using social media to connect with friends on a daily basis, share our thoughts in a few sentences and see what others think about it.

There was also a point that we all rely to the internet to search for feedback on things that we want to purchase or try, food to eat, restaurants to try, places that we want to go to. There were a handful of reliable bloggers at that time who were my go-to blogs for fashion, travel or food/restaurant related contents. But today, if I am being honest, almost everyone is an influencer in their own means. Just sharing a food, you bought or cooked on your social media, and one person from your network sees that and was encouraged to try it too makes you an influencer, right? Because you have influenced their attitude of trying or buying.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I know I have been soooo lazy writing blog posts for the past 2 years. I still have pending travel diaries to post from 2 years ago. But I really cant bring myself to write them. I may be either lazy or bitter that all my plans for the past two years have been thrown to waste. Travels to Dumaguete, Siquijor, El Nido and Siargao are still on my drafts. I wrote all the first few paragraphs for them.

https://unsplash.com/photos/BltXOAu8Ckw

Sorry if you're only seeing mostly promotional or random topics on here. I'll try to write more next year.. hopefully... I can't promise anything though. I am really one of those who writes when they are inspired or excited. Writing those travel diaries for my blog just makes me sad, honestly, so I don't think it's time for me to write them now. Also, I wont be writing any year end post like I did every year in the past.

But worry not about me, I am doing good. I'm just prioritizing things nowadays.

Anyway, I just want to check in. I hope all of you are doing well and healthy.

Wherever you are in the world, Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to you! May your hearts be filled with gratefulness no matter how you'll be spending this season! 🎄🎁❄☃️🎄

Why Reading Out to Children is Important for Their Self-Growth

Watching children read and losing themselves in the world of their favorite fictional characters is a feeling that all parents desire. The different emotions that a child reflects while reading is a sign that shows how reading goes beyond mere literacy. According to a study at Cambridge University, young people get excellent training in developing empathy through reading fiction. This is further backed by the studies done at Carnegie Melon and Emory University. According to their findings, fiction makes us believe that we are part of the plot.  The empathy that we feel for the characters get imprinted on our brains and help us develop similar sensitivity towards people in real life.

Development of Core Skills in Children
Recognized as a core life skill, empathy is the foundation for strong and sound relationships. So, how can we help our children develop such core life skills? Life Hacks For A More Confident You

In a world of perfect filters and boasting social media statuses, it can be difficult to remain confident in yourself.  Besides the fact that filters provide unrealistic images and people often exaggerate how amazing their life is, there are many more reasons to concentrate on the positives in your own life, rather than what friends and family are up to. If self-confidence is an issue for you, there are steps you can take to boost your self-esteem and confidence. Read on to discover some life-changing tips for a more confident you.

Take care of your appearance
Making the most of your appearance can boost your confidence and neglecting it can have the opposite effect. Looking after your appearance can also be connected to your physical health as something like crooked or missing teeth can have an impact on the way you eat or talk.

Buying Abroad: What You Need To Know

Moving to a new country is a huge adventure, but finding a home is one of the hardest parts of the whole process. Not only are you having to look around houses that are styled vastly different to the one that you're used to, but you also have to get used to a whole new way of doing things. The mortgage process may be different. The tax laws aren't the same.

The legal pitfalls and bad properties are even going to be different. A lot of people who travel abroad see a place and fall in love with it, so their natural next step is for them to want to consider buying a property. A lot of people consider buying overseas and letting the property out during the year to the locals, but others choose to buy a property and move into it full time themselves.

Helpful Tips About Your Wedding Hair and Makeup Trials

When coming up with the hair and makeup you want to wear on your wedding day, you will probably use some photos as inspiration. However, your look in the end might look completely different on the photograph that you drew the inspiration from and the concept in your mind. Not to mention that only when you actually see yourself in the mirror will you be able to say if that's exactly how you want to see yourself on your wedding day. That's why scheduling a hair and makeup trial is of great importance. You'll be able to make a final decision about your previously envisioned ‘do, as well as about your maquillage and make all the necessary changes to make you look fabulous on the big day.

Say yes to the dress first
Don't even think about scheduling a hair trial until you found your wedding gown. You may think that you want a sweetheart neckline and an A-line gown, but that ultimately may not be the choice you go with. That's why you shouldn't schedule a hair trial and have your gorgeous locks curled up when you may end up buying a dress with an open back that will require your hair to be slightly if not completely up in a bun so that you can flaunt that sexy backside.

5 Reasons Why Traveling Can Make You a Better Person

Travel is never a matter of money but of courage and pushing the limits. Here are some of many reasons why traveling can make you a better person, and why you should do it often and a lot.

Traveling improves your social skills
Many people are shy and uncomfortable when meeting new people and they never want to stand out or be the center of attention. However, traveling helps you become more open, independent and talkative. It gives you a chance to constantly interact with new people in other languages, learn about their background and share your own stories as well. Not only will it make you more social, but your communication and language skills are likely to progress as well. The more conversations you have with different people, the more you will learn from each of them, and that’s priceless.
