The Sunday Currently: Vol. 24

After six months, I will finally have a long weekend. I know, I know, everyone is on lock down, and every day feels like a long weekend. And I know, for some, have even lost track of time. You don't know what day it is, heck, what date it is even. But I am working from home (very grateful for that), and to be honest, since the lock down, I feel like, work hours have been longer, and most times I forget to take my scheduled breaks. And believe me it's not only me experiencing this.

I'm kinda feeling the cabin fever. I have not stepped out of my apartment for almost 3 weeks now. I dont have anywhere to go either. Damn, I envy those who got stranded Siargao or near the beach. I've been watching this family on Youtube and some people I follow on IG who got stranded in Siargao and my envy level is like off the roof. It's so hot and humid lately, that I wouldn't mind if I am on the beach. And lounge on the sand or on a hammock like I did in Siquijor as I watched the sun set (pictured above).

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 23

First of all, I want to ask, how are you? I know times are rough nowadays due to the current situation of the world. If you’re feeling some type of cabin fever or any form of mental problems, please do reach out to someone or to organization that provides help. I know it ain’t easy, we may not have the same level of suffering or problem, but we’re all in this together. And please don’t lose hope, cliché as it may sound,  there’s always a rainbow after the rain.

If you’re going to ask me, I’m getting by. I can’t say I’m fine and I can’t say I’m not doing great either. But hey, I am grateful no matter what. I stopped writing this TSC series, I believe a few years now, around 3 years now to be exact. I still want to have a lot of backlog posts to write, especially the travels I did in the last few years, however, I will try to resurrect this series. This is my form of getting personal to my readers, if I still have some who visits this blog on a regular basis. Furthermore, maybe as form of a digital journal as well.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 22

Ah what a weekend! Adding to the busy week at work was a busy weekend. I attended food-related events 3 days in a row this weekend. Starting Friday with no sleep (still have work on Friday nights), Saturday with very little sleep and  Sunday with almost reasonable sleep. But it was fun! Foodie meet ups are always fun!

It's May in a couple of seconds and how time flies so fast, the next thing I know it's my already birthday and then the holidays. I don't know if I want time to slow down or go quickly. I want it to slow down because I want to do a lot of things; and then I want it fast forward because I want some things to happen asap. Anyhoo, keeping this short as I'm super sleepy.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 21

I knew I can't do this TSC thing religiously but I should not fuss about it. Blogging or writing should never feel like an obligation to begin with. I don't know about other bloggers, but I started this blog, TBH, as a way to break the monotony of my daily life. But if I don't feel like blogging, I don't force myself. But when I'm in the mood, I can freakin' write a post in 5-10 minutes or finish 10 backlogs in a day.

So, the past two weeks have been spent mostly for work. It was a super toxic past few weeks. Of course, I can't disclose the details as per company confidentiality policies. My life had been work-home/eat/sleep-repeat. The weekends were spent catching up on sleep or just plainly doing nothing at all.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 20

Annnnnd I'm back! Hahaha! I wasn't able to write my TSC entry last week as I prefer to just slouch and sleep all day last Sunday. I just came out from being sick the prior and I didn't feel like doing anything. So, yeah, I basically just lazied my way through that weekend.

Today, I woke up at 1:00 am and started cleaning my apartment and did all the stuff that I've been slacking about for a week now, like fold my laundry and put them in all their proper places. I'm thinking of creating a new logo and header for my blog, but I'll be meeting up with my good college friend later, so we'll see about that. Plus I need to download a lot of stuff that I'll be needing for the design of my header. Also, i need to look for inspirations, but I already have something in mind. As per usual, I'll be writing this entry as my day goes along.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 19

So I just wasted my weekend because of this stupid flu that I'm nursing since Friday night. Last week I also wasn't feeling all too well and had to miss a day from work; and I thought I'm doing ok but no, this flu is persistent and it finally caught up with me. Well, I don't have a healthy lifestyle at all and I'm not taking any vitamins either and chugging down more coffee than water, so that's probably why I got sick.

Yesterday after work, I went straight to sleep so I will be refreshed before attending a foodie meet up near Valle Verde. I was able to function the whole time but I can't really mask the the feeling of sickness and I was sneezing like every 5-10 minutes. My foodie colleagues even went to some food park after that event at Sangkap, and me? I went home... Waaaahhhhh! I wanted to go with them but my body is failing me.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 18

So, it's already Monday Manila time. I forgot to schedule this post; I thought I did auto-publish this before I went to sleep. Now I am awake 12 hours later and find out that this entry didn't publish automatically. Well, it is still Sunday in some parts of the world so this still counts.

Warning, TSC entry is heavily loaded with Beauty and the Beast raves haha! So I just got home from the movie date I had with my officemates. It's supposed to happen later this Sunday night but we all decided to just do it on Saturday night instead. So after coming home from work and getting crazy and nervous while booking our movie tickets online (because they're selling out so fast), I went to sleep to atleast have some rest before our Saturday night out.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 17

Skipped one Sunday of my TSC series, forgivable? Yep. I was craving sleep last Sunday that I had to give in and it resulted to an almost 14-hour sleep! Man, imagine how much my head ached after over-sleeping (if there's such a thing). Anyhoo, not much ganap has happened this weekend. I was busy setting up my internet connection yesterday until today. I know a little bit on how to set up and troubleshoot but sometimes, you can't really find what's causing the problem.

Since I don't have any events to attend to this weekend, I spent it doing all the errands and things-to-do that I've been putting off for days. I also spend this day as my "me" time. After coming home from the mall, I immediately went straight to doing some DIY pampering. Treated my poor hair with a hair treatment that I just bought, did my nails, my eyebrows and some body salt scrubbing while taking a shower. Those were badly needed and I'm glad I finally got the time to do them. Later before I go bed I'll apply some face mask using my Mumuso Aloe Vera gel and the eye mask that my office mate gave me.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 16

Nothing much is going on right now. This week I went to two foodie meet-ups and saw some of the Zomato foodies that I have seen in months. I don't get to go to much of the Zomato events since most of them are held on weekdays and won't fit with my schedule. It was nice to do some catching up with them. They're really fun and cool people have around.

Anyhoo, I'm also feeling under the weather since my upper back has been hurting for a week. The pain is originating somewhere in my scapular area and it's killing me. One time at work, I really went out to the convenience store beside our office building just to get some Salonpas and stick a couple of them on my back. They gave some relief, temporarily. I sed to have episodes of this before and what somewhat cured it was when I did some Yoga stretches. I might try out that one today and see if the pain will diminish.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 15

It feels so gloomy today because it’s been raining all night. I really don’t like it when it’s raining. For one I hate the cold weather, I mean, can’t it be just cool and not too cold? Though I must confess I got a good sleep. I slept for a good 12 hours this time around haha! This oversleeping on Saturdays is becoming a habit. It’s ok though, at least I am giving my body the rest it needs after a week of under-sleeping. The week that passed was such a busy one. I mean, it was only Wednesday and I felt like I had already worked 5 days. And talk about the Valentine’s Day too. Unfortunately, it fell on a weekday and on a pay day. So you can only imagine how heavy the traffic was. Good thing that I have foreseen it and left the house earlier than usual.

I had so much fun last Sunday when I went to my officemate's house in Pateros. It was their town fiesta and it has been years since I got to experience any local festivities. We walked from their place to the main part of the town to meet one of our officemates and since a lot of people was there it was super hard to pass the streets. We got caught with the procession of people parading the statue of St. Martha so we were forced to walk behind it. Before we turned into a street to take a shortcut to my friend’s house, people started throwing snacks and we tried catching some. I didn’t catch one but my other officemate gave me one of his. There were also sidewalk vendors selling different kinds of stuff, Kirk and I was able to buy those rings you stick at the back of your phone as a holder. We got it  for only 20 pesos each! They usually sell them at 50 pesos to 100. So we were happy with that little purchase. And ooohhh we went to the local carnival too! Some of us gambled but I was so astonished with the old school Ferris wheel and octopus rides (but didn't get to ride them). After that we went back to Paola’s house and we ate, drunk, gambled and laughed our asses off until around 3:00 in the morning. Man that was soooo fun!

Btw, my internet connection sucks… it’s has been like this for a week now and won’t be repaired until next week. My gosh, is there any good internet connection left in the Philippines anymore? Or is it really that hopeless?!

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 14

Time check: 3:28 am, Sunday February 12 2017. I woke up super early today after sleeping for 13 hours! Woot! This is the longest I slept for weeks now. And no, the cover photo for this blog is not real time. I just miss the beach so much, waking up so early, watching the sun rise while I dig my feet in sand and sip some hot coffee.

It's good that I was able to give this body so much rest it deserves but now I'm with a massive headache after sleeping that long haha! It's ok, this migraine will go away soon. Now I'm sipping some coffee to start my very long day today while staring at my computer monitor and writing some articles for my blog and for the office newsletter. I intentionally didn't make any plans for Saturday because I know Sunday will be a very long day for me. As usual I'm writing this TSC entry as my day goes along and while thoughts are popping in my head and hopefully I will publish this as this day ends.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 13

Well, the highlight of my week was when I met up with one of my best high school friends, had dinner at Ramen Kuroda at Venice Grand Canal Mall before I go to work last Thursday. We talked over dinner, about what's happening with me at the moment and his too. It's so nice that there are people in your life that despite distance and not talking regularly, whenever you're with them, as if time never flew. The way you talk to them or the way you treat each other were just like the good old days. Well, he's like a good older brother to me, even though we're of the same age.

During this moments that I realize how God blessed me with true friends. They may not be a lot, but He did give me the best ones. I also have male friends who I can say I love them and mean it like how much I love my real brothers. I think that's kind of a rare thing nowadays, where most people can't even say those 3 words. I'm glad that I have friends who always have good listening ears and do nothing but encourage me. I couldn't ask for more. I'm so lucky with the friends that I have.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 12

Before anything else, I want to greet my Chinese and Filipino-Chinese friends Gong Xi Fa Cai!  Well, what a weekend that was! Tad too many parties! Literally went to party from Saturday until Sunday. I had so little sleep too but I don't mind because I got to spend my weekend with my friends and people from the blogging world. I went home from my Friday shift on Saturday morning and finished the chalkboard sign for my friend's daughter's first birthday and went to get some zzzz's. I woke up past my alarm and hurriedly got ready for Buddha Bar Manila's 5th Anniversary as I was invited by Zomato Philippines as one of the bloggers to attend the said event. It was themed as Cabaret/Can-Can night filled with performances and free-flowing drinks and food.

After that I scrammed to Uptown BGC to meet my friends for some night of dancing at The Palace Pool Club and Valkyrie. That was so much fun too since the music was hip-hop RNB - which I love dancing to. Witnessed so many happenings and enjoyed the night away. By Sunday morning I had to get up early like around 9:00 am to attend another party, but this time it's my friend's daughter's 1st birthday, up north of the metro. 3 parties in one weekend!!! My Facebook feed and Instagram stories were overflowing with photos and snaps but oh well. I'm tired and sleepy but I don't mind.. I don't mind... ♪♩♪ At least I get to spend my weekend with people who matter. 😊

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 11

What a crazy schedule I had this week! It totally made my body clock went bonkers! So for the first two days I was on the morning shift because of my training and then my boss told me that after my training I will be back on the night shift... in the middle of the week. Great. I have a vacation leave on Thursday (for something big that's about to happen in my life! Eggzoited!!!) So  my sched was like this for the week: morning-morning-night-morning-night. I hope I don't get sick after subjecting my body and mind to this crazy schedule.

Even though my week's timetable was ridiculous, it was eventful. I ended the training with good scores plus our team in the training was unbeaten! 6-0! Boom! Talk about being competitive, overly competitive! It's nice that I still get to see my training buddies around since we're all on the same building and floor. I love meeting people, it widens your network and like I always say, every one you meet will teach you a thing or two.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 10

I really don't feel like writing a TSC entry this weekend. There's not much going on in my life at the moment besides working and being sent for training for 5 days. But then again, this is something I vowed to do to write stuff that's a bit personal or rather to make this blog still personal.

Well, I'm having fun during my training and learning things. We often play games before every lesson and the team that I belong to always wins! 5-0 woot! I also got free Starbucks coffee and cookie after eagerly volunteering to answer our trainer's question haha! #competitive #TRVRepresent! My week is just the usual, I didn't go out this weekend too because my schedule is from Tuesday to Saturday. Funny thing is, I filed for a leave for Friday shift (which is technically Saturday) but went to work still. I completely forgot about it. It was ok though because I have no plans anyway and one of my co-workers was absent and an additional head for the workforce was appreciated.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 9

It's the first weekend of 2017 and it's already super fun! Agree? well if you're not having fun, I suggest you start making some! Hahahaha! Sorry that I am a bit giddy lately. I think I just started this year on a positive note and disposition that at the moment nothing's gonna stop me from being happy, no matter what the circumstances are.

One of my best college friends just recently came back to Manila from Canada, and whenever he's here in the Philippines, we always make it a point to meet up as much as we can. So on Saturday, we had dinner with some other college friends. After which we decided to have a fun night by having some drinks. We went to 5 different places that night: Reserve Gastro Tavern (bar-resto), Bank Bar MNL (secret bar somewhere in BGC), Roofdeck Bar at Z hostel (my go-to chill place), Finders Keepers (not-so-secret bar in Makati) and Black Market (club),  so we ended up going home at around 4:00 am on Sunday. It was so fun, pure clean fun (well except that we had a couple of drinks). It's been ages since we went out like that because after college what we would usually do is just go out for coffee or dinner. We kinda did some reminiscing about our college days, made us all nostalgic.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 8

Happy New Year everyone!!! Today is the first day of the year and I can't be more excited about it. I am thankful for 2016; I can't say it's my best year ever but it definitely was a special year for me. It had a fair share of ups and downs and lessons learned... just like any year that has passed. And because of that I was inspired to write another year-end blog post which you can read here: My 2016: Year In Review And Things I Am Thankful For.

Every year, I always make it a point to have a positive outlook for what the new year will bring for me. As for now, I will just go with the flow but will still keep an eye for my future goals and plan and still work hard to attain them. I haven't crossed all that I've written down in my journal back at the start of 2016. And this new year is another opportunity to put into reality those goals and plans that were not achieved in 2016.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 7

Today is Christmas Day! So before everything else, I want to greet everyone a Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays! Where ever you are in the world or whatever your belief is I'm wishing you all a season full of love, peace and prosperity, also that you are spending this holiday season with your loved ones!

So I wasn't able to write the Volume 7 of my TSC series last Sunday because I attended our team's Christmas party in a hotel in Makati City which lasted until 6:00 in the morning. It was super fun and we got pretty drunk but definitely twas an event one for the books! And the following day, which was a Sunday, I woke up at noon, ate a quick late lunch and left my apartment to meet up with someone. I spent the rest of my Sunday and half of my Monday with that someone before that someone head back to that someone's home country. I was in mixed emotions, but in that moment that I got to spend that time with that someone, I know I am happy. That someone is one of the best things that happened to me this 2016. It was short but sweet and I am grateful.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 6

It's the holiday season, you can already feel it. Every morning I have a hard time getting out of bed because it's so cold I don't want to move any bit of muscle. Taking a bath at dawn is also equally difficult; I always feel like I'm being wrapped in ice every time the cold water comes out of the shower. The change of weather also causes my allergies to flare up.

Don't get me wrong, I love the holiday season, but I just can't bear the chaos and the traffic that comes with it.  So today, I'm not leaving the house until late this evening, when everyone is on their way home, I'll be on my way off to somewhere.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 5

So I'm back to writing my TSC series after almost a month of entering an unintentional blogging hiatus. I had a lot going on in my life recently that blogging or writing is the least that is on my mind. I'm always too tired and sleepy from everyday's work and most of the time I just go straight to bed when I get home.

Thus, the pile up of stuff to write about (mostly restaurant reviews though). Good thing that the PR people from those places aren't that particular as to when a blogger needs to post a review. But yeah I am waaayyy past my personal deadline. Also that these past few weekends I've chosen to go out and hang out with friends and officemates; which means I always go home late. Not to forget the tad too many holiday parties that I needed or need to attend.
