Welcome to the Family: OLD NAVY Now in Manila!

I've read in a newspaper last December 2013 that well-known brands like Pottery Barn, H&M and Old Navy will open stores here in Manila. I was excited when I read about it and even posted it on my Facebook status.

Last March 22, while I was waiting for my interview for our church's production team, I passed time by browsing through my Facebook newsfeed and saw that it was Old Navy's opening day at BGC and they are giving away free tote bags and all denim pants are 50% off!

I am not picky  when it comes brands; as long as I like how it looks, I will wear it. This applies to everything that I use like clothes, accessories and shoes. Even with timepieces, I live by that standard.

I am not really a fan of watches, that’s why I only have 3 and all of them are gifts. I don’t usually buy one for myself either. Last week, I received an addition to my humble watch collection from BornPretty.com, which pretty much sparked some excitement inside me.

PUERTO PRINCESA TRAVEL DIARY: The Legend Hotel Palawan

On the second weekend of March 2014, I went on an early Summer getaway to Puerto Princesa, Palawan.  This trip wasn’t supposed to happen, we really didn’t have plans of travelling this year since we are trying and planning to have a baby. And because of that we decided to forgo any travel plans and decided to start saving up instead to prepare ourselves when we finally conceive a child. But God surprised & blessed us and paved the way to allow us to be able to travel again this year. This Summer trip we didn’t spend much because almost or half of it is free! Thus we are able to somewhat splurge on food and a day trip to Dos Palmas Beach Resort.

If you were able to read my blog post regarding an invitation to attend one of Club Astoria’s promotional seminar (read about it here) you have an idea that we were granted free accommodations to their tie up hotel in Palawan.

I've never been the boyish type. Being in a family who has been greatly influenced with fashion and clothing, I doubt if my sense of style would ever gear towards being tomboy-ish. My grandmother used to be a seamstress; also used to own a home-based clothing manufacturing business that was stationed in our ancestral house’s basement. She would also make our clothes when my sister and I were just little girls. My mother worked for a long time as a Quality Auditor for garment trading companies including Nike. When she stopped being an employee, she went to apparel overrun/production/buy and sell business until the clothing manufacturing industry in the Philippines slowly died down. My sister Hazel has been sewing her own clothes and creating costumes for school activities. After graduating college, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a self-taught fashion designer and is currently a wedding and debut couturier.

Ever since then I have also been acquainted with girl friends who are as “kikay” as me and who takes beauty  and style seriously. Girls, like me, who love to wear beautiful clothes and shoes, do their own make up, and accessorize their ensembles with statement pieces. Most of my life, I have been surrounded with people who love to be ever so fashionable and all-made-up. I heard KC Concepcion in one of her TV commercials say to “always look your best”; I like it and I’m living with that mantra. So when it comes to style, whenever and wherever, I can say that I am the girly type. I love to put on pretty ensembles even on ordinary days or even at work; especially if I have all the time in the world to think about what I’m going to wear for the day.

In most parts of the Northern Hemisphere, Spring is coming. The vernal, or spring, equinox signals the beginning of nature’s renewal in the Northern Hemisphere. Spring is the time when green buds appear, birds chirp, and flowers begin to bloom. Spring time is the season of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection, and regrowth.

That is why most people do or hold Spring Cleaning around this time of the year. Those things that we don’t use are either tucked away or disposed off and replace with something new. And because of this, why not include your wardrobe while you Spring clean and replace them with new ones to rev up your Spring spirit. J. Cuppacakes at SM Jazz Makati: Art in Your Cravings!

Last Sunday, after accompanying our friend Jai to her second wedding gown fitting at my sister Hazel's place, we went to J. Cuppacakes’ branch in SM Jazz Mall in Bel-Air, Makati  to check their cakes. The couple are eyeing J. Cuppacakes’ signature nude cake as their wedding cake, which they saw on their Facebook page.

It is my first time to check out SM Jazz Mall even though we’ve already passed by this place several times. Nothing much to see here except for the new restaurants that line the ground floor of the mall. Imagine any SM Hypermart but with upscale establishments, that’s what to expect at SM Jazz Mall. Although I’m intrigued and would like to try some of the restaurants and cafes that I’ve seen there.

As you all can see, my blog doesn’t have just a single theme for all my blog post. I don’t just posts only about clothes, or only about make up or beauty products or only about travel. I came to learn that blogs like mine are called “Lifestyle Blogs”, where anything under the sun can be written about. I say this because I want you to bear with me when I do  beauty product reviews and if I do post about clothes.

My goal ever since I started this blog is to be able to inspire or somehow influence others and to help or relate to anybody.  When I do posts about makeup, brushes or other beauty/skin care products that I personally believe in or have had great experience with, I’m aiming that somebody out there (usually like me), who’s searching the net for reviews of products or services  that they want to try or avail of but are hesitant at first and wants to know what others think or what others say. I’ve had many purchases and availed of services that were greatly influenced by reviews that I’ve seen online, especially on blog reviews. Some products that I review here are samples that I availed or were given to me to try. As much as possible I keep in mind not to be biased on doing reviews, I simply say what’s ok and what’s not . But when I really like the product, I will pour my hearts out just to make a review post that would try to convince everyone to get it as well.

Wholesale-dress.net now known as www.clothing-dropship.com is the first clothing and shoe online store that I’ve came to love and regularly visit. They offer thousands and thousands of clothes and shoes at very affordable prices. They are the cheapest also from all the ones that I’ve been checking or whenever I go web window shopping.

It was also with Clothing-dropship.com that I first ever bought something from an international online seller. I was kind of skeptic about it at first, that I must admit. Because there are some reviews about them that are not very favorable.

I do think that 2014, again,  will be a blessed year. H2O+ Face Oasis Shine Neutralizing Gel from Sample Room

I recently availed of H2O+ Face Oasis Shine Neutralizing Gel from Sample Room. While looking at the list of items that I can try from the H2O+ line, H2O+ Face Oasis Shine Neutralizing Gel was the one that easily caught my eye. That is what I chose since, not only that this is what my available points from SampleRoom.ph can afford (hehe) but because my skin is problematic and it is generally oily with some dry areas.

I still have two tubes of moisturizers on hand, but that didn't stop me from getting one of the samples from H2O+. It is the first time that I heard about this skin-care line, so curiosity got the best of me. Even if I still have plenty of moisturizers to use for a month or two,  I was very willing to try this one out.
