Welcome to the Family: OLD NAVY Now in Manila!

I've read in a newspaper last December 2013 that well-known brands like Pottery Barn, H&M and Old Navy will open stores here in Manila. I was excited when I read about it and even posted it on my Facebook status.

Last March 22, while I was waiting for my interview for our church's production team, I passed time by browsing through my Facebook newsfeed and saw that it was Old Navy's opening day at BGC and they are giving away free tote bags and all denim pants are 50% off!

I've been a fan of Old Navy way back in college. I always ask my balikbayan friends to buy me something from Old Navy. But my fave pasalubong from the US are Old Navy flip flops. To date, I own like 7 pairs in different colors and styles and I'm still using all of them up until now.

The flagship store of Old Navy in the Philippines is at BGC High Street; it replaced the area in B7 that used to house Gap and Muji. I went gaga upon entering the store! Old Navy occupied 3 floors! (They have beaten Forever 21 and Uniqlo in the race for the biggest clothing store in terms of floor area.)

The first floor is where the Women's/Maternity section is; Kids/Pre-teens occupy the second floor and on the third is the Men's section.

Finally! Jeans that fits perfectly and with the correct length! I wonder why for so long no clothing line in Manila have jean sizes like that...

Since during the opening at BGC all denims are  50% off, I checked what I can score at the Women’s section and found this crop pants that has the perfect length as well! After trying them on, there were no questions asked and I was headed straight to the counter.

We checked the activity area that Old Navy set up for their customers, wherein they gave away free treats like ice cream, pop corn, candies, CBTL drinks etc.

There’s also a game that they let people play a Spin to Win where you can avail of merchandise discounts (or even for free) depending on where the wheel stops. And the discount coupons doesn’t have an expiry (I think...) We got only a 10% discount for any men’s top, our other coupon didn’t get any.

I've been hoping for an Old Navy franchise in Manila for so long, and after a decade, it has finally happened! I'm excited what Stores Specialists Inc. will bring to Manila next.. A real Victoria Secret store perhaps? ;-)
