D.I.Y. Binondo Walking Food Tour

My work schedule is not normal, anyone who works for a BPO company would attest to that. Although I have weekends off, my Sarurdays are usually spent sleeping and waking up on Saturday nights and ending up doing nothing. So it seems my real days off from work are Sundays and Mondays. So one Monday morning me and some of the doctors from work and other colleagues decided to take a trip to China Town in Binondo Manila.

It was pre-planned and most of us wanted to avail of the "Binondo Walking Food Tour" by Ivan Dy but find the price kinda steep and the tour schedule wont work for us either. So we decided to do it ourselves minus the "story behind each place". We only went to 3 well known restaurants in Binondo and I am not sure if you can call that a food trip but to reason out, we had limited time (we still have work that night) and limited stomach space.

Sheinside Labour Day Sale!

There’s a quote that says “ collect experiences rather than things”… Yes that’s true, but when you come to think of it, buying things to reward yourself for working hard also somewhat gives a sense of fulfillment. For my case, a part of my earnings go to the money I use to purchase clothes. I am really into clothes, I don’t know why, but even if I already have too many blouses and too many dresses, I can’t still get enough of them. Some people may think it’s being materialistic. But wearing clothes that express who I am or what my style is somehow gives me a confidence boost.

Everyone views things differently, so if that’s my view about spending money on clothes, I think people should respect that. The way I respect others if they want to spend their money on gadgets, video games, shoes or cars. But don’t get me wrong, I am not an impulse buyer nor I splurge a lot. I am actually a cheapskate, I love sales, surplus and bargains. If I can haggle, I will haggle. If I’m half-hearted to buy something expensive I won’t buy it and just wait until it goes on sale.

TRIANGL LILY Swimsuit / Bikini Dupes

Triangl Swimsuits fastly rose to popularity because of their innovative use of the neoprene fabric as swimsuits. The fashion world has not seen anything like it and their designs and color combinations are so pretty that it created such a rave among women who loves to collect swimsuits and going to the beach. A few months back I purchased dupes of one of Triangl’s first few designs, called the “Milly” and wore the bikini top during my trip to Coron Palawan for my birthday. I really love the colors that were released for that design and my Triangl bikini dupes are my most treasured pairs of swimsuits.

Many have visited my blog post about the Triangl Milly Swimsuit Dupes, leaving comments and questions. Which I appreciate, really. Making the review for those swimsuits, the goal was to help girls who are looking for  reliable sellers who offer quality Triangl swimsuits and are for girls like me who can’t afford the real Triangl swimsuits (around $90 per pair, super expensive for an average girl like me).

Darling in Damask Dress from Lalalilo.com

I would have never thought I will reach this far when it comes to blogging. This is my past-time and my way of somehow living my dream of becoming a “feature writer”. I may not be well-known or may not have many followers and engagements in my blog, but the feeling of being blessed with my little success puts a smile on my face. Especially when I receive messages from people asking about the clothes, products and travel destinations that I have blogged about. More so when companies or business contact me asking if I am willing to do a cooperation or collaboration with them. The blogging world may seem non-sense and a waste of time for some people, but for those who love to do what they do, it is something. I guess if you’re not stepping on somebody's toes with what you do then it's ok.

I recently received a dress for review from LalaLilo.com. This is a shift printed dress that I’ve been eyeing from other online shops. But before I go into a detailed review of the dress let me first introduce Lalalilo.com

Lingerie Luxxe - Tbdress Reviews

I am a huge fan of Victoria’s Secret, I always anticipate their yearly VS Fashion Show where they showcase the current and upcoming season’s lingerie collection. Most of the models that walk during the show are my favorites and they’re my fitspirations (although I must admit that I am only up to the part of being inspired and have little action to have the body like theirs LOL!) I really love the Victoria’s Secret models/angels, because whenever they walk the runway in super sexy underwear or lingerie, they don’t look demeaning at all. All you can appreciate is how they have turned the lingerie into something that’s worth watching.

The closest thing to luxury underwear that I have tried is Victoria's Secret yet it is still not their signature collections that I have tried. But of course, if I had enough budget I would buy something more luxurious than what I have now. It’s not being materialistic, you know, sometimes we just have to reward ourselves once in awhile; besides we all have been working hard to earn a living. I’ve also been browsing around their lingerie section since I want to have at least one set of those. But they are way over my budget, really. For something you will wear and only you and your significant other would see, I don’t think I would spend hundreds of bucks for them.

[NEW IN] MY SHEINSIDE.COM COLLECTIVE HAUL #9

If you have been to my blog a few times already, you might well know that I am a huge fan of Sheinside.com and I mostly get my dresses from this online store. I just love the styles that they release especially those that are from their Pre-Sale/Pre-Order Collection (wherein you can buy new arrival clothing items of up to 50% for a certain length of time and then they will go back to their regular prices after the pre-sale period). Sheinside also offer new promotions every week that helps you score discounts and super sales; so whenever I see an item on my wish list that is already on sale, there’s a great possibility that I will add it to my shopping cart.

But…. this would probably be the last post about my Sheinside hauls that I’m going to do. Well, all good things come to an end eventually… Ever since our local customs got super super strict when it comes to claiming packages sent from outside of the Philippines and that I have to always muscle them out to make them understand that some of these packages were purchased using store bonus points or after joining & winning one or two of Sheinside’s regular giveaways (meaning I got some of them for free).

SIARGAO 2015 TRAVEL DIARY – Nine Bar

Siargao has been in my bucket list ever since I saw how beautiful its beaches are. Obviously I am a sucker for white sand beaches and clear blue and turquoise waters. Whenever I have the opportunity to travel, I always choose a place where there’s a beach; I may not have the beach body and the confidence to wear two-piece swimsuits and I also don’t know how to swim properly, but the feel of sand under my feet gives me a certain high.

Since one of my good friends is coming back to Manila this Summer, and we always make it a point that we will travel whenever she’s on vacation in the Philippines, I booked us a flight to Siargao Island. Most flights to Siargao are quite expensive especially for a regular-earning professional like me, but thank goodness for airfare promos and seat sales that I was able to book a flight to Siargao that was cheaper than normal. There is no direct flight to Siargao, you have to pass by Cebu and board a smaller aircraft to Siargao. There’s only one airport in Siargao – Sayak Airport in Del Carmen town, which is a relatively small airport compared to Caticlan’s or Coron’s airport. Only 1 flight arrives and leaves Sayak airport daily when it’s the lean season; but when there’s a surfing competition Cebu Pacific (the only airline that flies directly to Siargao) opens two flights per day and this is around May to September.

Sheinside.com’s Better Than Ever Sale!

I am someone who value my hard-earned money; I always make it a point to bargain hunt or take advantage of sales and discounts. I am not brand conscious either, though I buy branded items but if I can buy stuff that's of the same quality and design but on a much cheaper price I would go for the latter, always. Buying cheaper items doesn’t mean quality is always compromised. Like for example, when I buy clothes if there's a  counterpart of a dress from a branded store that I can find online or at bazaars I would choose the one where I can save more bucks and even buy another item.

Speaking of SALE, one of my favorite online stores, Sheinside.com is most of the time my go-to clothes shopping destination. Why? Because they often, as in often, have sales, promos and give their clients coupon codes. And the best thing about Sheinside is that their clothes are super stylish and in with the current fashion trends.

Garden, Beach or Church Wedding? WeddingShe.com Will Help You Decide...

A wedding only happens in one day, but it takes months to a year to prepare for that single day. There so many aspects in a wedding that guests and spectators have no idea how much hard work is put in to it.  The time, stress and the amount of money put into a wedding is to be treated as a big deal because a couple has to squeeze planning and accomplishing a lot of things for their wedding on top of their daily jobs and other personal tasks. So whenever you get invited to a wedding, you must feel honored and not obligated to attend.

One element of a wedding that takes a lot of time and effort to decide upon and finish is the bride’s wedding dress.  Nowadays the bride’s wedding dress is a one of the highlights of any wedding and it isn't pretty easy to choose one. A lot of considerations should be put into it and sometimes you get bombarded with too many ideas that you see on wedding websites, Pinterest, magazines etc., that most often than not a bride gets too overwhelmed and frustrated.

Shop in the U.S. without Leaving Your Home with USGoBuy.com

Shopping online is very convenient for me; I believe it just equates with the time and money I’ll spend if I go to the mall, pay for cab fare and eat a snack if a get hungry walking around. Also there are items from brands that aren’t found in my country or if there’s a local store and most of the time the price is higher and not all stocks are available. Say for example, I want to buy from ASOS, I love items from this online shop especially their dresses but we don’t have a local version or distributor of ASOS here. Or buy make-ups and skin care products from Sephora USA Online Store. What I would usually do is ask a friend of mine living in the U.S. to buy them for me and will wait for their next trip back to Manila/Philippines before I can get hold of those purchases.

But then there are times when my friends living in the U.S. becomes unsure of their trip back to Manila/Philippines, thus, I won’t be able to ask them to buy for me. Good thing there are business that offer online shoppers to perform US Online Shopping and taking advantage of mostly free shipping from merchants. But the catch is that you have to have a mailing address in the US.

When You Lose Your Crowning Glory...

Last November 2014, I wanted to have a new hairstyle and I asked the hair stylist to dye my hair and cut it in a different style. But I ended up with super dark hair and a hair length that didn’t flatter my face shape. It was so frustrating because it made my face look chubbier than it really is. The last time I had my hair that short was in grade school and since then I have worn my hair very long. So after a few months I noticed my hair grows slower than usual, it may have been because from waist length hair it was cut to shoulder length and that might be the reason why it grows super slow. Might be a superstition but that actually what happened to me.

My hair was about bra-level-length already when I decided to get a trim I specifically told the stylist to only cut half of an inch. And then again, to my surprise and dismay, the stylist took it upon himself to cut more than what I told him to. After seeing what he has done, I again felt bad and gave him no tip! I know I’m kinda rude on that part, but I gave him specific instructions but then he didn’t follow.

One Is Never Over Or Under Dressed With A Little Black Dress

A little black dress is an evening or cocktail dress, cut and shape may vary but it is often quite short. Fashion historians claim the origins of the little black dress to the 1920s designs of Coco Chanel and Jean Patou intended to be long-lasting, versatile, affordable, and accessible to the widest market possible and in a neutral color. It is often simply referred to as the "LBD”.

The little black dress is considered an essential in every woman’s closet to complete wardrobe and a must-have in the rules of fashion. It is such a classic and versatile piece because it can be worn in any occasion by dressing it up or dressing it down. Little black dresses will never be outdated as evidenced by its long standing stay in every fashion season and trend for decades. It will forever remain at the height of chic-ness and will never know no social, style, size or boundaries.

Never Go Out of Style With Sheinside

One wardrobe staple for women that will never go out of style are dresses. Some will be just fads but dresses are here for the long run as evidence by its super long history dating back from the ancient times. Dresses have evolved so much that there’s so many types and styles to choose from depending on the occasion, weather, or one’s preference. I believe it’s not fair to call yourself a woman if you don’t own at least a single dress.

A few years back I promised myself I would built a closet that would be half-filled with dresses, and so far, I am achieving that goal. Although in a week, I would usually wear a dress once or twice only. Dresses for me makes any girl look very feminine and shows off those womanly-curves that we women are blessed with and should be proud of.

Buy For Me Service by YOYBuy.com

If you have been visiting my blog regularly, you may notice that I love to shop online and I always feature a couple of online stores which are mostly based in China and Hong-Kong. Whether we like to admit it or not, almost everything that we use today is made in China. I saw this quote/meme one time on my Facebook newsfeed and it says: “If you’re not made by God then you’re made in China”, which seriously cracked me up. But that’s the truth and people love to buy stuff that are China made, for one, they are cheaper and a few times there are items that are ok when it comes to quality. You just need to find a trusted and reliable seller. Based on my experience from buying stuff online, most of the time it’s a hit or a miss, but as far as my experience is concerned, so far so good.

Now, have you heard of Tabao.com? I am quite familiar with that site because I have visited it quite a few times already and had the chance to purchase from it. Tabao.com is where most of the merchants from China place they products for potential buyers, both for those seeking wholesale and retail. Unlike with Aliexpress and Alibaba, if you want to purchase wholesale you have to go to Alibaba and for retail Aliexpress would be the shopping site. The downside is Tabao.com is in Chinese, and not everyone can read Chinese. But I can tell you that the prices of the products in Tabao.com are way cheaper because they come from the main source/producers of the products.

Parisienne Tres Chic with Dresslink.com

I recently received these items from Dresslink.com and while I was taking photos of them, it just dawned on me that they somewhat had a Paris theme in them. There’s a timeless Paris glamour that is exuded in these items and they somehow have the essence of that beautiful and romantic city. It has been a lifelong dream for me to go to Paris one day, and these pieces gives me a perfect excuse to channel the inner French beating in my heart.

I don’t really know why, but that what came to mind; probably because of the black and white combo and the lovely details of the items that screams “Parisienne”. Just take a look at these Paris Theme rooms:

Sheinside's In Memory of Winter Sale

Winter is so behind us, and I personally am glad that it is over. Even though we don’t get to experience snow falling on our land, the chilly wind and I were never best of friends. I get easily cold and my allergies and asthma always  threaten to attack when the weather is cold so I never really like the cold season. I guess I was never meant to be born in a place where there is Winter; I love that I live in the tropics because I love Summer and the beach.

When it comes to Winter fashion, I only love to wear leather jackets. Although I only have two of them as of the moment and I would also love to wear high cut boots, but in a country that can be considered with a 365 days of Summer, I guess it would look very inappropriate. Well unless, it’s raining or it’s that super cold. But who knows where God may take me in the next few days or next few months, and I’ll end up in a place where the weather is cold, so I need to be prepared at least.
