There’s a quote that says “ collect experiences rather than things”… Yes that’s true, but when you come to think of it, buying things to reward yourself for working hard also somewhat gives a sense of fulfillment. For my case, a part of my earnings go to the money I use to purchase clothes. I am really into clothes, I don’t know why, but even if I already have too many blouses and too many dresses, I can’t still get enough of them. Some people may think it’s being materialistic. But wearing clothes that express who I am or what my style is somehow gives me a confidence boost.
 

Everyone views things differently, so if that’s my view about spending money on clothes, I think people should respect that. The way I respect others if they want to spend their money on gadgets, video games, shoes or cars. But don’t get me wrong, I am not an impulse buyer nor I splurge a lot. I am actually a cheapskate, I love sales, surplus and bargains. If I can haggle, I will haggle. If I’m half-hearted to buy something expensive I won’t buy it and just wait until it goes on sale.   For the longest time, I haven’t bought any clothes from stores at the mall. I’ve been so into online shopping because I get store credits and most of the time, I avail of coupon codes - which makes me save on my purchases compared to going to the mall. Plus what’s great about shopping online, the items that they offer aren’t available locally. I’m not being flaky, but as much as possible I want unique pieces that when I wear something, there is a no chance I’ll bump into someone wearing the exact same thing that's on me.
