Lorenzo's Way BGC High Street Central

We have had the opportunity to read so many poignant stories about everyday people coping with the realities of death in inspiring ways. These stories demonstrate how grief can produce something remarkable. Loved ones are driven to do something extraordinary in memory of another, whether to work through their loss or to show the world how special the person was to them. But it’s rare to hear about a restaurant being created in honor of someone.

Tributes are an expression of appreciation and can be represented in so many ways. They may focus on the positive influence of a person on our lives or focus on their accomplishments. In many cases both topics are combined. Tributes can also celebrate the success of a group, a business, or an organization, rather than an individual. We honor heroes through building a statue or naming a structure or street after them. Or we make a montage of pictures or a short film for a loved one who passed. Some are more grandeur than others, just like the creator of the Taj Mahal. Emperor, Shah Jahan commissioned it to house the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

5 Ways To Become A Successful Travel Blogger This 2019

Surprisingly you don’t need to go traveling to become a successful travel blogger! What you do need is the ability to write about places you’ve been in the past or even the place you live. The question will be whether you can stay still long enough to be a travel blogger. 5 Romantic Ways to Spend Valentine's Day with Your Loved One

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, lovers all around the world are getting ready to celebrate their love by planning the perfect date for their partner. However, there are many loving and caring people who simply can’t think of a single romantic thing to do, let alone create the ultimate Valentine’s Day experience for their loved one. If you are one of those people who are looking for some great date ideas that will melt your partner’s heart, then just keep on reading. Here are five romantic ways to spend Valentine’s Day with your loved one:

1. Plan a candlelit dinner
You don’t necessarily have to take your partner out to a fancy, expensive restaurant that is undeniably going to be crowded on Valentine’s Day. Instead, arrange your own romantic candlelit dinner at home. Make a gourmet meal together, then set up the table and create a romantic atmosphere with some candles and your favorite bottle of wine. Put on some soft, romantic music to play in the background and dim the lights so that it’s mostly the candles lighting the room. Once the dinner is over, slow dance to one of your favorite love songs then see where the night takes you.

Come and Celebrate Vatos Urban Tacos - BGC’s First Anniversary with 100-peso Tacos and Margaritas!

Serving up a culinary remix is nothing new to us, fusion restaurants have been popping up in every corner. We’ve seen it all, but have you heard of Kor-Mex? It’s the next big thing and it’s now popular in Singapore and South Korea thanks to Vatos Urban Tacos. Vatos, my friends, is a story of two cultures via food. Korean and Mexican food occupy a space on my top ten loved cuisines and seeing them being served in one is quite a delight and a surprise.

Vatos created a furtherance of fusion cuisine in the Philippines and is now on its first anniversary this February. Vatos is Mexican slang meaning “men” or “dudes”. Vatos Urban Tacos sprang from the minds (and bellies) of three Korean-Americans who wanted to offer a new type of dining experience in Korea. Kenny and Sid hail from Southern California, and Juweon planted his roots in Texas; hence, all three spent the majority of their lives growing up on authentic Mexican food.

BHF Hair to Rescue for Your Hair Problems

For around two decades I have sported my hair long that sometimes it reached up to my waist. And just last quarter of last year, I just decided on a whim to cut it short, as in above the shoulders. My hair at that time doesn’t look and feel healthy anymore because I have subjected it to years of torture by way of constant dyeing; heat exposure using blow dryer, hair straightener and curling iron on a regular basis and sometimes other chemical treatments like rebonding and Brazilian blow dry.

These things caused my hair to lose the luster it used to have years before I started doing these things to my hair and the damage is so obvious. That is probably one of the biggest reasons why I wanted to cut it short even though I really didn’t want to. I liked how it turned out because it’s something new that I’ve done in years.

Which Cup Of Tea Are You?

I’m a cheater. I’m an ardent coffee-drinker, but once in a while I give in to the temptation of drinking tea instead of my one true love – coffee. This happens especially when green tea is nearby and I get disoriented and torn between the two. And then there’s milk tea, it’s a whole new different story. It just makes me make weak on my knees and it gets me all tangled up and without any resistance.

Coffee and tea have both long been peddled for their physical, mental, emotional and social benefits. Both tea enthusiasts and coffee lovers will defend their drink of choice to the end since both drinks have their advantages (and disadvantages). There’s a fierce competition between the two drinks, it may be difficult to sort out what's true and what's just hype. Because of that it’s really hard to decide whether to be a tea person or a coffee person.

3 Peruvian Vacation Ideas for Offbeat Travelers

While most travelers visit Peru to see the magnificent historical ruins of Machu Picchu, adventure lovers and thrill seekers prefer exploring the less touristy side of this beautiful Latin American country that offers an incredible variety of landscapes, from arid deserts and sunlit beaches to lush forests and picturesque mountain trails. If you’re planning a trip to Peru but want to do something beyond the usual touristy stuff, here are three unusual ideas you’ll find useful.

Stay inside the Amazon rainforest
The mysterious Amazon jungle is spread across nine South American countries, but Peru is where it’s at its magnificent best. In fact, the mighty jungle covers 60% of Peruvian land. Most visitors wanting to explore the Amazon arrive by air into Puerto Maldonado or Iquitos, from where they can take a boat ride or a luxury cruise deep into the forest.

Everybody Should Take Their Partner on a Romantic Getaway Sometimes

You can enjoy plenty of things with a group of friends and travel seems to be one of them. It is always wonderful to share a fun time with others while discovering new places and different cultures. However, having a special someone to appreciate all that, with whom we are looking to build a future, should be even more pleasant.

Some studies suggest that couples who go and explore the world together have greater chances to stay together for a longer period. I can imagine that because what could cement a relationship better than going on unforgettable adventures together and experiencing the same things? Of course, there are some obvious challenges to the partnership dynamics that can come from spending so much time in each other’s company and on the road. But whatever doesn’t kill you will make you both stronger.

Buffalo Wild Wings - Uptown Mall BGC

I remember those days when I got quite addicted to Buffalo Wings that I ate it every day for lunch. I would convince one or two of my teammates to order those from one of the stalls in front of our office building. And then when I get home from work, I would even ask my mom to cook buffalo wings for me. That's how I liked it so much. It was like a purging of buffalo wings for me that lasted for months.

A Buffalo wing, in the cuisine of the U.S. is a popular dish, it's an unbreaded chicken wing section that is generally deep-fried then coated or dipped in a sauce consisting of a vinegar-based cayenne pepper hot sauce and melted butter prior to serving. The Buffalo wing was invented in 1964 at Anchor Barin Buffalo, New York by Teressa Bellissimo. They are generally served hot, along with celery sticks or carrot sticks with blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing for dipping.

RebeccaFashion Guide: 3 Reason Why You Should Love and Try Hair Extensions

The image of beauty, as we know it, has changed. Throughout the decades, standards have evolved dramatically; now there is not just one specific criterion to define how beauty is perceived. Most times when one feels good about himself or herself or comfortable with his or her own skin, one can automatically feel or look beautiful.

Confidence or how you carry yourself whatever the color of your skin, what haircut you are sporting, what style of clothing you choose as long as you can carry yourself well, you are considered beautiful. Also, with the proliferation of affordable stuff that you can purchase or employ to make you look and feel good gives you no excuse to be presentable.

Some Common Myths About Airport Transfers

While planning a vacation to Frankfurt, one needs to go through many phases and research to make their vacation perfect. According to the budget you set for the trip, you need to make several major decisions like planning where to stay, where to go for sightseeing, where to shop and making arrangements to travel. While making so many decisions, it is natural that you also try and save as much money as you can.

It is good to do proper research and make practical decisions during your vacation. One spot where you can get stuck is to arrange for the transportation. People usually make wrong decisions while choosing a good transportation company for your airport transfers to or from Frankfurt. One silly decision can spoil your whole plan. People tend to choose private taxi companies believing that they are more convenient and they can save some money by choosing private companies over airport transfer services. Believing some ridiculous myths about airport transfers, people feel reluctant to choose them.

Ultherapy Launch at Bench Skin Expert

Just before the holidays, I attended the launch of Ultherapy at Bench Skin Experts in Glorietta with my blogger friends. There the doctors and reps for Ultherapy discussed and showed us how this new revolutionary treatment us next best thing in keeping one's youthful appearance. But before that, we got to snack on some pica-pica with raclette while we mingle with other beauty enthusiasts.

Ultherapy ® is a safe, non-surgical ultrasound treatment. Ultherapy® uses the body’s own regenerative response to gently and gradually lift skin on the eyebrow, under the chin and on the neck, and smooth lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. It uses sound energy – tried-and-true ultrasound – which has unique properties that allow it to bypass the surface of the skin to treat depths not matched by any other non-surgical cosmetic treatments. Ultherapy® ultrasound stimulates collagen production in the skin’s foundation, resulting in a clinically significant lift of tissue over 2-3 months.

Langley’s Gin, The Multi-Awarded Quintessentially English Gin is Now in the Philippines

I can’t really say if I like gin. Because I have bad memories and experiences with gin when I was in high school. I grew up in that generation with that gin-pomelo craze. So, every time I think of gin or pomelo all I can remember are that smell of that cocktail mix and those crazy moments. So as much as I can, I avoid drinking gin. Only as of late that I get to appreciate it fully.

Gin is liquor that derives its predominant flavor from juniper berries. Gin is one of the broadest categories of spirits, all of various origins, styles, and flavor profiles, that revolve around juniper as a common ingredient. From its earliest origins in the Middle Ages, the drink has evolved from an herbal medicine to an object of commerce in the spirits industry. Gin was developed based on the older Dutch liquor, jenever, and became popular in Great Britain (particularly in London) when William of Orange became King William III of England.

A New Take on Fusion Dishes at Alter Ego

There are so many definitions of “alter-ego” that you can find on the internet. Meanings can be both good or bad. Some describes it as a second self which is believed to be distinct from a person’s normal or true original personality. Some say that a person who has an alter ego leads or lives a double life.

Other definitions describe an alter ego as an intimate and trusted friend. It is maybe a person to whom you are so close that he or she almost seems like an essential part of you and who understands your unique perspective on the world.

Rebeccafashion Guide: 2019 Hair Color Trends

Most days change from one to the next with no fanfare. Not so New Year's Day. The start of the new year carries such special symbolism? Behavior this ubiquitous must surely be tied to something intrinsic in the human mind, something profoundly meaningful and important, given all the energy and resources we invest not just in the celebration but also our efforts to make good on a fresh set of resolutions.

Many of us are thinking of reinventing ourselves may it be the inside or the outside aspect each and every new year. One that is often prioritized are our hairdos. New year, new hair! That is probably what's running in the mind of most of us. Are you one of those planning to change your look, may it be minor or major?

La Petite Parisienne at Le Village Lifestyle Park

For some reason I always end up in the North part of the metro though I live in the East. It's one of the busiest areas in the Philippines. And mind you, travelling to that area is no easy feat for me or anyone for that matter. But somehow, most of the events I attend are located in that area. Also, up to this day, I'm wondering why I am profiled as a blogger "expert" in that area.

But I'm not complaining since in these events I get to mingle with people who share the same passions as myself and some of the people that I've come to love and treasure. Just a few days before the holidays, I met up with some of them, basically, with the known titas in our community.

Bags: Items of Fashion and Function

Bags have always been a part a woman’s fashion. But back in the day, a bag is a common tool in the form of a non-rigid container. The use of bags predates recorded history, with the earliest bags being no more than lengths of animal skin, cotton, or woven plant fibers, folded up at the edges and secured in that shape with strings of the same material.

Despite their simplicity, bags have been fundamental for the development of human civilization, as they allow people to easily collect loose materials such as berries or food grains, and to transport more items than could readily be carried in the hands. The word probably has its origins in the Norse word baggi.

Try Hair Extensions For Less: UNice 3rd Anniversary Celebration

For me, my hair is one of my best assets. Some people compliment me because even if I don't have it rebonded or use a flat iron, it's straight most days. The only things lacking are some proper volume and thickness. So, whenever I want to curl my hair like those of celebrities and Victoria Secret models, I can't seem to achieve that no matter how much volumizing and curling products I use.

 http://www.unice.com/

Since 5th grade I kept my hair long and sometimes super long because a hairstyle that ends on or above the shoulders makes my round face very pronounced and I don't like it at all. Having long hair, parted down the middle or on one side frames my face and makes it appear elongated, thus giving the illusion of a thinner face.

5 Best Ways to Experience Melbourne Like a Local

There’s nothing wrong with being an obvious tourist, but sometimes, exploring the most famous sites is just not enough to really get to know your destination. So, after you arrive in Melbourne and do all the regular tourist stuff, don’t hesitate to explore the city and experience it like a local.

Start the day with a morning jog
Australians are a very fit and healthy nation, so try to wake up early and start your day with a light morning jog. This is one of the best ways to mingle with the locals, but it’s also a perfect moment to avoid crowds and have a speedy sightseeing tour. Head to The Royal Botanic Gardens and get lost in the greenery. They might be located at the very centre of the city, but the gardens are quite peaceful and quiet. If you go very early in the morning, you will really get to enjoy all the beautiful lakes and explore secluded picnic spots in peace. Plus, you’ll feel extra good about yourself when you start the day with a healthy activity!

All The Fresh Catch at Sea to Table - Katipunan

I have a hate-love relationship with seafood. But like a toxic relationship I let it over-power me. I can’t escape its seductive power. It has its fingers wrapped around my neck. Ok I was talking about food, so let’s go back to that before this goes somewhere else. Here’s the thing, I’m allergic to seafood especially crustaceans like shrimps, lobsters and crabs. But with mussels, fish et. al., I am not.

So, whenever I have to eat seafood, of which I would never let the opportunity pass to enjoy them, I have to popped an antihistamine a few minutes before and after partaking on a seafood run. Good thing I was tormented with an allergic rhinitis and was on antihistamine for days when I and a few other foodie friends visited Sea to Table in Katipunan.

Authentic Greek Cuisine at Kos Greek Ouzeri

Back in October of 2013 First Gourmet Academy opened up its first restaurant, Kos Greek Ouzeri. This restaurant is located in U.P. Town Center along Katipunan. The idea of this restaurant is to serve simply authentic Greek food along with wines and the traditional Greek drink Ouzo. The menu is based a lot on the small spreads and dips called mezedes that is very common in Greece as well as in other Mediterranean countries under different names.

Greek Cuisine is probably among the healthiest cuisines there is. Fresh vegetables, olive oil and cheese has been cultivated and produced in Greece for thousands of years. This also means that eating in a Greek restaurant like Kos Greek Ouzeri - you as one of our guests - will have the opportunity to step back in time and enjoy a meal that is not only healthy but also truly and simply authentic.

Rebeccafashion Guide: Winter Hair Care

A lot of girls nowadays are using additional things to add more to or accentuate their overall look. Like for example, eyelash extensions and hair extensions are the popular ones that we add to our body to make us feel more confident and beautiful. I myself is a great fan of eyelash extensions and I want to try hair extensions as well especially those ones from Rebeccafashion. But I know there are lot of things that it entails to maintain these kinds of extensions so I've done some research.

Winter weather can be unpredictable, but there’s one thing that you can always expect; sadly, cold and dry weather always spells trouble for hair (both hair extensions and natural hair). There’s so many bundles deal for hair extensions and I know you’re tempted just like I am to try them out but you’re clueless on how to care for them during the cold season. Each and every year, we are all reminded of this fact when our hair frizzes out, gets brittle and straw-like, or refuses to hold any shape whatsoever in cold weather.

How to Start a Successful Travel Blog From Scratch

You may think that it is only young people without ties that can start a successful travel blog from scratch. But the truth is that anyone can do it; whether you’re a mum or a retiree. However, before you start it is important to note that this job does not just involve travelling to different places and writing about them. You need to do a lot of background work to ensure your travel blog is successful.

Get Your Site
You need a domain name and host. It is best to avoid the free sites and pay for these; this will ensure you have a site which is your brand name and not one that simply has it in the title (that’s usually too long). It’s a good idea to keep the name of your blog short; it will make it more memorable.

Life Guide For The Next 365 days of 2019

I wasn't able to create a year end post this year since I got so busy with the holiday festivities and I still have tons of backlogs and thousands of photos to sort. But on this first day of 2019, I'm sharing these thoughts to y'all which was also shared to me by one of my foodie friends. I just find it very enlightening and encouraging that I knew I had to share it.

This was also shared to him by his mentor and he found it valuable to share with us as well. It'll only take less than a minute to read but it's a good read so I hope you'll appreciate and enjoy it as much as I did.

Here are some advice (reminders) to guide you in the next 365 days of 2019 and even through the rest of your days.

1. Take risks in your life. If you win, you can lead; if you lose, you can guide.

2. People are not what they say but what they do; so judge them not from their words but from their actions.

3. When someone hurts you, don’t feel bad because it’s a law of nature that the tree that bears the sweetest fruits gets maximum number of stones.

4. Take whatever you can from your life because when life starts taking from you, it takes even your last breath.

5. In this world, people will always throw stones on the path of your success. It depends on what you make from them — a wall or a bridge.

6. Challenges make life interesting; overcoming them makes life meaningful.

7. There is no joy in victory without running the risk of defeat.

8. A path without obstacles leads nowhere.

9. Past is a nice place to visit but certainly not a good place to stay.

10. You can’t have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time.

11. If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, then you haven’t done much today.

12. If you don’t build your dreams, someone else will hire you to build theirs.

13. If you don’t climb the mountain; you can’t view the plain.

14. Don’t leave it idle — use your brain.

15. You are not paid for having a brain; you are only rewarded for using it intelligently.

16. It is not what you don’t have that limits you; it is what you have but don’t know how to use.

17. What you fail to learn might teach you a lesson.

18. The difference between a corrupt person and an honest person is: The corrupt person has a price while the honest person has a value.

19. If you succeed in cheating someone, don’t think that the person is a fool. Realize that the person trusted you much more than you deserved.

20. Honesty is an expensive gift; don’t expect it from cheap people.
