Starbucks Reserve: more elevated than normal coffee experience

I am in no way a coffee connoisseur but I am for sure a coffee lover/drinker. I’ve tried several times to break up with coffee since stress mixed with caffeine isn’t good for me because it gives me acid reflux. But no... I can’t and I probably won’t break up with coffee; I need it to stay awake while working and besides good conversations most of the time, happens over coffee.

A couple of my officemates share the same infatuation with coffee like I do and since third wave coffee shops have been sprouting around the metro; the curiosity got into us and we decided to or rather, plan to try some of them to see what’s the difference with what they have to offer from those that are brewed by mainstream cafes.

Bringing Sexy Back

Backless dresses started to gain popularity during the 1920s. That time was still considered very modest era and the only way women can show off their beautiful bodies especially during the summer time. The style of backless dresses became associated with the sun tanning fashions of that time, and it was a way of showing off a tan.

A backless dress is a dress designed to expose the wearer's back. A backless dress is most commonly worn on formal occasions or as evening wear or as wedding dresses and can be of any length, from a halter-top to a miniskirt-length to floor-length.

Sheinside’s Cool Price At Summer Nights Sale!

Summer would probably be the best season for me; I believe that I was destined to be born in a tropical country. I’m not really fond of the rain nor the gloomy weather it brings which hinders you to do things or go out. I also happen to love the carefree and colorful summer fashion. Although I really haven’t experimented so much on color in my wardrobe, I love the colors that are associated with summer. They brighten up anyone’s day, do you agree?

Although I must say that our weather back here is kind of weird, it’s already May and it’s expected that the rainy season should have already started. Bu no, we’re still experiencing an extension of summer and the temperature even went up to 46 degrees Celsius heat index last week. That would be ok if I’m on vacation and at the beach somewhere. Unfortunately I’m stuck at home and at work with the unbearable heat. What’s more eerie is that during night time, it’s sometimes cold and rains which usually brings sickness to a lot of people and I am not spared. Which means I need to stay home and rest over the weekends and no going out for me even if it’s a long weekend. Anyhow, at least I have an excuse to browse and window shop online while I’m nursing this sickness and check out my favorite online shops.

Sheinside Superior In Quality Sale

I am someone who value my hard-earned money; I always make it a point to bargain hunt or take advantage of sales and discounts. I am not brand conscious either, though I buy branded items but if I can buy stuff that's of the same quality and design but on a much cheaper price I would go for the latter, always. Buying cheaper items doesn’t mean quality is always compromised. Like for example, when I buy clothes if there's a  counterpart of a dress from a branded store that I can find online or at bazaars I would choose the one where I can save more bucks and even buy another item.

Everyone views things differently, so if that’s my view about spending money on clothes, I think people should respect that. The way I respect others if they want to spend their money on gadgets, video games, shoes or cars. But don’t get me wrong, I am not an impulse buyer nor I splurge a lot. I am actually a cheapskate, I love sales, surplus and bargains. If I can haggle, I will haggle. If I’m half-hearted to buy something expensive I won’t buy it and just wait until it goes on sale.

Something Blue, All White - Breaking Wedding Traditions

Weddings are complicated events and has so many to-do’s and not-to-do’s; not to mention the many traditions that go with it and each will be based on someone’s culture and upbringing. But don’t get me wrong, I love weddings. I freelance once in awhile as a wedding coordinator and do some styling and chalkboard signs and I enjoy what I do. I know many of us are familiar with wedding traditions like the bride must wear something blue or must have something blue in her wedding and the no-white-policy-except-for-the bride.

But seeing weddings nowadays (yes I’m such a Pinterest-addict and I follow a lot of wedding blogs and Facebook accounts), couples are getting more and more rebellious and experimental with their weddings. Almost everyone aims to have a unique wedding. And you know the power of social media on how it can make unique events spread like wildfire and inspire others to follow suit.

The Timeless Essence of Black

Black according to Wikipedia.com is the color of coal, ebony, and of outer space. It is the darkest color, the result of the absence of or complete absorption of light and the opposite of white. Black was one of the first colors used by artists in neolithic cave paintings. In the 14th century, it began to be worn by royalty, the clergy, judges and government officials in much of Europe. It became the color worn by English romantic poets, businessmen and statesmen in the 19th century, and a high fashion color in the 20th century.

It may be the color of mourning or sadness but the fashion world always associate Black with something that is classic, timeless and elegant. No fashion mogul did not ever use black as one of their colors for their collections.

Welcome Summer In Beautiful Colors With Dresslily

Summer would be my favorite season of the year. Though it gets super hot and humid especially that I live in a tropical country I still love this season no matter what. Sunshine makes me happy and smile unlike gloomy rainy and cold weather that brings a certain kind of sadness even if you’re not going through a tough time in life. I think I was born and planned to live and fit for summer season so no question about that.

I also love summer fashion because of the beautiful colors that it brings about. For summer 2015 most major designers followed the trend as predicted by Pantone.com. Some are not that surprising to see but some are, like red and grey for summer is kinda not so ordinary, really. But fashion brand giants are rebellious enough to include them in their collections. I say it’s pretty much interesting to see those shades but I know many will be up for it; besides fashion has no rules anymore.

When You Lose Your Crowning Glory

Our hair will always be our crowning glory, if it is not in order, you certainly will feel less self esteem but if it's in its best, a confidence boost will surely be evident. I have done so many things to my hair and thank goodness it hasn't gave up on me just yet. No matter how much I torture my hair it still is one of my best assets. The men in my family are also blessed with good genes because hair loss or thinning was never an issue to us. But I know lots of men who suffer the problem of male pattern baldness and whether they like to admit it or not it somehow affects their self confidence.
Pattern hair loss in men is not a result of stress nor a result of wearing baseball cap every day. Studies even show that it is not a result of a nutrient deficiency, due to excess sweating, or sebum on your scalp. Male pattern hair loss is called androgenic alopecia, the result of hormones  and a genetic predisposition. Men suffering from this are losing hair because they are genetically predisposed to. They have been programmed to become sensitive to the changing hormonal activity in their scalps. So yeah blame it on the genes...

Let’s Talk About Silhouettes

Since it’s already May, and next month is June, which is wedding month my blog will be probably featuring a lot about weddings and all the details related to it. Preparing for a wedding takes a lot of hard work and a lot of things to consider. Nowadays the bride’s wedding dress is a one of the highlights of any wedding and it isn't pretty easy to choose one.

A lot of considerations should be put into it and sometimes you get bombarded with too many ideas that you see on wedding websites, Pinterest, magazines etc., that most often than not, a bride gets too overwhelmed and frustrated. Most brides have the dilemma looking for that perfect dress and can’t decide what silhouette and style they would like to have for their height and body type.

Met Ball 2015 Hangover

The Met Gala has been over for almost a week but the internet hasn't stop talking about it. In my Facebook there has been no moment that stories about the occasion don't pop up every time I scroll over my news feed. Of course most are about the celebrities who took the limelight and media attention because of what they were wearing. And then there's this list for the best dressed and not-so-best dressed during the fund raiser.

Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and Rihanna became talk of the town because of their outfits. The first three because they wore dresses that are barely there and the latter because of her extravagant and large outfit. I like unique pieces, but I think simplicity will always surpass extreme extravagance. With that being said, the four women I mentioned earlier didn't really take my heart with their outfits. I like those who wore dresses and outfits that doesn't need to show off a lot of skin to make them look stunning on the red carpet.

Get Entangled In Beauty with Sheinside

It saddens me that May signals the rainy season in my country and there’s a typhoon looming. But there’s always a pick-me-up stuff that I do when I’m stuck at home because it’s raining: online shopping! There’s so many sale happening in malls around but I can’t go out a roam the shopping centers so I’m settling with my phone on my hand and browsing through my favorite online shops.

The Battle of Chiffon Vs Satin

Will you agree if I say it’s hard being a girl or a female? I bet you would. We have so many things to do just to keep up with the world’s standard of beauty and success. Sometimes when I look at all my stuff (clothes, shoes, make-ups, beauty products, bags and other knick-knacks) I end up wondering how did I ever end up having all of them and how can just one person own so many things and the irony of it is that, whether we want to admit it or not, we still want and buy some more to add to our pile of thingamajigs.

And that doesn’t end there…  We women also are complicated beings. We always have a hard time deciding on what we want, so we end up doing all things at once or buying a product in all its varieties. I bet by now you’re nodding in agreement while reading this.

Beauty Queen Dreams

When I was young, I love watching beauty pageants and my favorite part of the program would be the evening gown competition. I always look forward to what the candidates would wear and if they will carry the dresses with such poise and statuesque elegance. I would anticipate the time when the individual scores will be flashed on the screen and I would make some guesses on who might be bagging the “best in evening/long gown.”

As the years passed, I still continue to watch beauty pageant and I have noticed a great deal of change for the long evening dresses that pageant contestants are wearing. Of course they have become more modern and more skin is being shown.

Vintage Never Go Out Of Style

I’d like to claim that “old” has got a new name these days, and it’s called Vintage! Dressing up in vintage style doesn’t have to look like costume-y. Incorporating classic pieces and clothes with timeless cuts into one’s wardrobe will definitely help achieve a vintage feel. You can never go wrong if you’re thinking of having a vintage style of fashion, after all that’s why it’s revered as timeless. There is also a modern take or interpretation of vintage fashion that won’t make you look like you’ve come out from a history book.

I love anything vintage, shabby-chic or quirky; I believe I am an old soul and if I were to be asked if what era to live in the past, I would probably choose between the Renaissance, the 1920’s or 1950’s. For me, those times are the most fashionable eras. As much as possible I want to include something vintage-looking and preppy into my wardrobe, and believe I would fit in that style category or probably modern vintage.

Cocktail Dresses: A TBdress Review

Besides an LBD, every girl should also own at least one cocktail dress in her wardrobe because you will never know when a situation will call for it. I get stressed (over-reacting here really) when I need to go somewhere and I don’t have anything appropriate to wear and I don’t have enough time to go to the mall and look for an outfit or put together an outfit. This is because I am someone who always mind and plan what I would wear, like on a daily basis.

Cocktail dresses are dresses worn by women for cocktail parties, semi-formal or "black tie" occasions. They are usually shorter than most dresses and fall a little above the knee or below the knee. It must be smart-looking, elegant just like a little black dress, and may have sequins or lace and other adornments.
