The Ups and Downs of the Holiday Season

It's 26 days until Christmas and I can't fathom how time can fly so fast. I swear it was just summer yesterday and now it's getting cold and everywhere you go you can see people putting up their Christmas decors. This season can be both festive and stressful, to be honest.

I personally love this season because of how cheerful it is. The spirit of live and giving is in everyone's heart and mind. I also get to attend parties and gatherings with friends and families left and right. This season is a season to do a lot of catching up and gift giving.

I've always had a longing to have my own home, a place a can always call home and go to at the end of a tiring work day that will be a place where I can put my feet up and relax before I hit the sack. It's The Season To Layer

Just got out of work, it's 6:00 in the morning, it's still dark, a crescent moon is still up in the sky and the chill wind is blowing. Ahhh... Winter Solstice is here. Can you already feel the holiday season? As for me it's a big yes! I'm so excited for the holiday festivities ahead. It's palpable, a matter of fact!

So what's the best way to keep warm and cozy this cold season? Layers! Ladies hear me out! Layers! So whenever the weather changes from cold to humid we can just take off our sweaters. I personally don’t like a cold weather because my allergies are heightened up when I’m in a cold place. Fall is here and winter is coming (sorry for Game of Thrones reference, can't help it lol!).

It's That Time Of The Year To Wear Your Christmas Sweaters

Last weekend I went up to Tagaytay for my best friend’s wedding. Tagaytay is the nearest mountain range from Manila and the last time I was there even though the air is always cool it rarely fogs (though it's not an unusual thing in that area). But that morning, 3/4 of the way up I can already see a fog looming, and when we got to the roundabout the fog thickened. 

I was excited and scared at the same time. Excited that I rolled down the window then stuck my arm out to feel the coldness because I can't even remember the last time I saw and experienced such foggy weather. I was also scared because it was almost zero visibility on the road. Thank goodness that I arrived safely to where the wedding preps of my best friend is happening. Also it cleared up by mid-day and the weather was perfect just in time for the wedding.

It's the holidays! Yey! I'm already hearing a lot of Holiday songs being played over the radio where ever I go and it kinda makes me realize that Christmas and New Year is just a few days away! I just love the holiday season because the mood is always happy and festive. I also get to see my family and friends for a lunch or dinner; some of which I haven't seen in months or years. The weather is not that cold yet, just yet, but I know it'll be soon; and it will add up to stir more of that holiday atmosphere for sure!

Have you guys started your holiday outfit shopping yet? As for me, I am doing it inch by inch as I don't want to go cramming since I kinda despise doing things the last minute and end up just getting what's left on the racks. Being the planner that I am, even what I'm going to wear on a daily basis is planned. Like I prep my entire wardrobe for the work week and all. So basically if I'm going to attend an event or party or go travel, my outfits are already written down or arranged in my memory.

I know that kinda sounds like a high-maintenance kind of girl, but I am not. I'm wired that way and I just don't like looking like drab, because you know, you should always look your best since you'll never know who you'll bump into. Anyway, I did another haul from Zaful and I got a head-to-toe outfit. Although I still don't know to what holiday party I'm going to wear this ensemble. Or maybe I'll wear this on my upcoming out of the country trip, we'll see.

Beautiful, Longer and Thicker Hair In A Matter Of Minutes...

Hey you know what they say about hair? Having beautiful locks is quite a good revenge. Oh yes, when you have fabulous looking hair you gain self-confidence! That speaks volumes to me, how about yourself? As for me, it really is my crowning glory. But there are times that I want to cut my hair short because I’m sometimes tired of maintaining my long locks. On some days I really like to see what I would look like with shorter hair without actually cutting my hair because I am too afraid to cut it short and if it doesn't fit my face shape, I have to go with the pain of waiting for it to grow back again.

Aren’t you glad that there are alternative ways to make your hair longer, thicker and full of volume in a matter of minutes? Say if you are not feeling your shoulder length hair today, you can whip up some fancy hair extensions and go from blah to va-va-voom.

How to Achieve Longer, Fuller and Luxurious Hair

Since 5th grade I kept my hair long and sometimes super long because a hairstyle that ends on or above the shoulders makes my round face very pronounced and I don't like it at all. Having long hair, parted down the middle or on one side frames my face and makes it appear elongated, thus giving the illusion of a thinner face. 

For me, my hair is one of my best assets. Some people compliment me because even if I don't have it rebonded or use a flat iron, it's straight most days. The only things lacking are some proper volume and thickness. So whenever I want to curl my hair like those of celebrities and Victoria Secret models, I can't seem to achieve that no matter how much volumizing and curling products I use.
