Howl's Chicken: The House for Oversized Nuggets and American Comfort Food

Hey mothercluckers, your girl Jen here. And I have the biggest news ever. One of my many sources, @ieatandiwander, sends us this: “Spotted a #NewChickInTown.” Was it just months ago that we were all locked down in our homes that we started having our daily source of nutrients came via the delivery guy and then suddenly brands, small and big, are popping up left and right. But this one, something tells me she’s going to spice  up the chicken world with her oversized nuggies. Don’t believe me? See for yourselves. Lucky for me, I got first dibs, so read on to know what I found out…

Ok, ok, enough of me pretending I’m Gossip Girl. Did you get the GG reference? Hahaha! Anyway, let me introduce you to Howl Chicken, the newest chicken place in town, wait, or towns? Hey, Howl’s going to be in Taft, BF Parañaque, Eastwood and Makati. From the same people behind Zark’s Burger, comes the new place that will start serving you probably the Philippines’ first oversized chicken nuggets and American comfort food.

Do you love chicken nuggets? Well, they got you covered. How about strong flavors, anything cheese-y and anything spicy? Then, their other food offerings will surely tickle your fancy. So here are some of what you should look forward to from this new chicken place:

Nashville Nuggets – dare to take the Nashville kick? Extra hot chicken nuggets topped with cheesy sauce and jalapeños. Their nuggets are twice the size of the usual ones and made with pure chicken meat. Yep it’s not like the fast-food type nuggets where there’s more extenders than meat.

Cheesy Bacon Jalapeno Nachos – colorful nacho chips, topped with generous amounts of cheese sauce, jalapeños and bacon bits. I have very low tolerance with spicy food, but I’ve never tried Jalapeno chilies before, so I tried eating some with the nachos and I really liked the kick that I got from it.

Queens Sandwich – all-time favorite from Queens, NY! This is honey BBQ crispy chicken with  garlic ranch sauce and topped with loads of mushrooms. This is the ultimate soul food and my favorite of all the dishes that I tried. The flavors just blended so well together into one awesome dish.

Cheesy Jalapeno Nachos – colorful nacho chips, topped with generous amounts of cheese sauce and  jalapeños. This is just like the other nachos, sans the bacon bits.

Southern Classic – a So-Cal classic: crispy fried chicken with sesame seeds and thick honey on the side, just pure beauty. This Howlin Chicken comes with waffles! I love the flavor that the sesame seeds added to the chicken and to the waffles. The waffles were my favorite and take note, they didn’t use maple syrup but some tangy-sweet legit honey.

New Orleans Rice – fine day here in the South! Hot crispy chicken with Cajun sauce and sprinkled with bacon bits. This one is served with rice and a fulfilling solo meal. The spice level is on the middle which I can totally tolerate and enjoy and same goes for the Cajun sauce.

Howl Iced Latte and Howl Brewed Iced Tea – these are the two out of the four available drinks from Howlin Chicken. The iced tea had that minty and herb-y aftertaste to it. I’m just not sure if I can put my finger on any specific ingredient that makes the iced tea taste that way.

By the way, you can customize your Howlin Chicken by following their Build Yo Own Howl menu guide with just 4 easy steps. Order Howlin Chicken dishes via GrabFood and Lalafood for now, as their physical restaurants still doesn’t allow dine in for customers.

Pagkabasa ko kase sa title, I thought there's some behind story about the brand name kasi naalala ko bigla yung isang anime na Howl's Moving Castle. Anyway, I love chicken nuggets and knowing that this is made by the people behind Zark's Burger, hindi ko maimagine how huge this chicken nuggets cuts are.
