Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s Korean Food Festival

Annyeong Haseyo Korea! Today is the official launch of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila’s month-long festivities which includes the Korean Food Festival, Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day. To which I had the privilege to attend the  press conference/launch earlier today at Spiral - La Veranda Restaurant; attended by people from the South Korean Embassy, Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, Sofitel's management, businessmen, media, press, bloggers et al.

Everyone was treated with a lunch filled with cultural performances, exhibition of food that will be offered on the said events, a cooking demonstration and of course a sumptuous lunch courtesy of Manila's finest buffet restaurant; Spiral.

Korean Wine Dinner | 21st of January 2016, Thursday | La Veranda Embark in a journey of taste featuring 4 sumptuous courses prepared by Chef Jang Bo-ik paired with our featured selection of Korean wines. The intimate dinner gathering features the elegant tones of the traditional Korean string instrument, the Gayageum. Rate is set at Php2,700nett per person.

The Art of Making Kimchi | 22nd of January 2016, Friday | Spiral Korean Atelier Learn to make the signature Korean favorite in an afternoon class by Chef Jang Bo-ik from 3pm to 4pm. Rate is set at Php1,500nett per person.

Korean Magnifique Chef | 24th of January 2016, Sunday | Spiral Witness a culinary showcase featuring Chef Jang Bo-ik in a colorful demonstration of signature Korean dishes. The special presentation from our visiting master chef from Grand Ambassador by Pullman Korea will run from 12pm to 2pm along with other featured animations: Korean Fan Dance, a Family Han Bok costume photo booth and a special Soju cocktail trolley. The best dressed dining guests will win a special prize from the The Face Shop. Spiral Sunday Brunch rates apply. 

Korean Cooking Class | 25th of January 2016, Monday | Spiral Learn how to whip up traditional Korean dishes in an exclusive cooking class featuring Chef Jang Bo-ik’s own recipes. The class will run from 3pm to 4pm with rate set at Php1,500 per person.
