The New Cara Mia Cakes & Gelato Cake: Creme Brulee Cake!

It’s my birthday month and yes, I’m an Autumn baby (even if there’s no autumn season in the Philippines lol!) But did you know that there are some fascinating facts about babies born in the Fall, like me? They say that we may live the longest, that we make good friends (ehem!), that we are notoriously charming and charismatic (ehem again!) and that Fall babies are happy babies!

One of the things that make me happy is eating sweets though and I couldn’t be any happier when Cara Mia Cakes and Gelato finally unveiled their latest cake flavor: CRÈME BRÛLÉE! Just in time for this season, with its pretty golden brown, cream and white color! It’s so perfect for the Fall colors, don’t you think?

Cara Mia Cakes & Gelato was formally launched as a separate brand from Amici in May, 2009 with the first outlet opening in Greenhills. Using the same principles that Fr Colombo used to create authentic Italian Gelato, Cara Mia has since expanded its line to many more exciting gelato flavors as well as other gelato-based products and delectable desserts to complement its mix.

Cara Mia was the first to introduce Gelato Cakes in the country. Gelato Cakes, which comprise various gelato flavors fused in with elements like wafers, pie crusts, nuts and toppings to form beautiful cakes are perfect for gift giving and special occasions. There is also the affogato which is gelato “drowned” in with espresso as well as gelato shakes which are various gelato flavors mixed in with milk for a very satisfying and indulgent experience. The refrigerated cake line completes the mix of fabulous desserts that are proudly served in all Cara Mia shops.

Crème brûlée, also known as burned cream, burnt cream or Trinity cream, and similar to crema catalana, is a dessert consisting of a rich custard base topped with a texturally contrasting layer of hardened caramelized sugar.

Cara Mia’s Crème Brulee cake is also not overly sweet and just gives you enough sugar rush with its layers of torched caramelized sugar, egg custard, French buttercream and light chiffon cake. This will also be perfect for the upcoming holidays! Celebrate Christmas with your immediately family (for now) with this cake or send it over to your relatives and friends for Noche Buena or Media Noche, since you won’t be able to gather like the past years’ holidays.

The price for the Creme Brulee Cake is P975 for the whole and P155 for a slice. It’s available for dine in, take out and delivery.

  6. It's funny how we all associate Crème brûlée with the elites (or My Best Friend's Wedding, haha!) but I never really now what it was. So it's burned cream...and caramelized sugar. Now I know.

  7. I didn't know that their branch in Greenhills is the first outlet here in the Philippines. I used to go there a lot cos it's walking distance from my old office. I love cakes and definitely Cara Mia is among the best premium ones i've tried. :) Nakaktakam yung new cake nila! Enjoy your birthday cake! :)
