The Sunday Currently: Vol. 10

I really don't feel like writing a TSC entry this weekend. There's not much going on in my life at the moment besides working and being sent for training for 5 days. But then again, this is something I vowed to do to write stuff that's a bit personal or rather to make this blog still personal.

Well, I'm having fun during my training and learning things. We often play games before every lesson and the team that I belong to always wins! 5-0 woot! I also got free Starbucks coffee and cookie after eagerly volunteering to answer our trainer's question haha! #competitive #TRVRepresent! My week is just the usual, I didn't go out this weekend too because my schedule is from Tuesday to Saturday. Funny thing is, I filed for a leave for Friday shift (which is technically Saturday) but went to work still. I completely forgot about it. It was ok though because I have no plans anyway and one of my co-workers was absent and an additional head for the workforce was appreciated.

Crisp on 28th Kitchen + Cafe

It's my very first foodie engagement of the year! Woot! And where did I go? I went to Crisp on 28th with other bloggers to try out what they have to offer especially that they are introducing their menu. Thank God I have no work that night because I'm on training for the next two weeks and will be taking the morning shift once more.

Crisp on 28th is an ode to throwback neighborhood café that serves a variety of healthy, well-composed meals and curated coffee brew on a quiet street in BGC.  It is located on the ground floor of Alveo Building, a quiet area along 28th Street facing the park. Crisp on 28th offers all-day breakfasts, salads, soups, past, sandwiches, desserts shakes, beverages, coffee, tea, beers, cold pressed juices, smoothies, fruit-infused water, flavored iced tea, milkshakes, cocktails, wines, liquors and other alcoholic beverages.

Leopard Shoes Are The Answer

Whatever your style is, a girl should own classic pieces of clothing, shoes and accessories in her wardrobe. Because whenever the occasion calls for it, you just have to reach in to your closet for them and need not to freak out and scour the mall just to get them.

Must have pieces in your closet should include (according to Tim Gunn) a little black dress, a blazer, a polo shirt, a good pair of trousers, black high heels and a good pair of under wear. Of course that’s not the only things you need but yeah, you should have at least one of each.

Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Winter Look

Don’t you just love winter holidays? Gingerbread, cinnamon, toffees, and hot cocoa all days long make everything perfect. Even though we all have the urge to curl up under a fuzzy blanket with a cup of something sweet and hot this season, that doesn’t mean we get to do it all the time. We need to leave the house from time to time, and it’s not good to look like you just got out of bed. For those who would like to look flawless even if it’s cocoa-and-cookies time, we made a list of useful tips and tricks.

Let it sparkle
Is there anything that says ‘Holiday spirit’ better than glitter? Sequins and glitter are everywhere you look: from scarves and dresses to eyeliners and fingernails. To get the flawless and elegant look this season all you need to do is add glitters to your fingernails. Paint them all the same color and only have one nail on each hand covered in glitter, or dip a piece of sponge and go glitter hombre on your fingernails with ease. Opt for the ever-popular green and red or choose to have gold or silver if you would like to have a more classic look.

Update Your Wardrobe for the New Year

When I think of the New Year, I think of everything has to be new. Like my way of life, my way of thinking and of course my way of dressing. It will be Spring and Summer soon, and new trends will be running down the runways and the streets. So I guess, New Year means also new wardrobe.

I am normally not a person who follow trends, but when I like a style I buy it; but I make it a point to incorporate them to my personal preference in fashion. Especially when it comes to the colors of the clothes that I want to be part of my ensembles. I rarely go crazy with colors, I usually stick to the basics, but yeah, once in a while I like wearing loud colors or a mixture of colors, but nothing extreme.

Dohtonbori: An Okonomiyaki Experience

I'm a bog fan of Japanese cuisine, it is one of my most favorite cuisines in the whole world. Invite to any Japanese resto and for sure I won't think twice with saying yes. For me it is one of the most interesting cuisine there is. I think I have tried a lot of its type but I'm still being surprised by its wide variety.

I'm lucky that Manila's food scene has no scarcity when it comes to Japanese restaurants. Some specialize on a particular kind of food, some with familiar ones and some goes for fusion. I've just recently discovered this sorta healthy Japanese food called okonomiyaki. I've tried one once in a food park but I've heard that this place called Dohtonburi offers one of the best okonomiyakis in Asia and now in the Philippines.

Can You Travel With Minimal Savings?

Traveling can be a lot of fun, and sadly, most people think they have to spend thousands if they want to enjoy themselves for a few days.  This doesn’t have to be the case if you know how to travel with minimal savings.  While you will need some cash, you don’t need a ton to create experiences that last a lifetime.

To help you save money and travel for next to nothing, I wanted to show you a few tips and strategies I have used in the past to travel for next to nothing, regardless of my destination.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 9

It's the first weekend of 2017 and it's already super fun! Agree? well if you're not having fun, I suggest you start making some! Hahahaha! Sorry that I am a bit giddy lately. I think I just started this year on a positive note and disposition that at the moment nothing's gonna stop me from being happy, no matter what the circumstances are.

One of my best college friends just recently came back to Manila from Canada, and whenever he's here in the Philippines, we always make it a point to meet up as much as we can. So on Saturday, we had dinner with some other college friends. After which we decided to have a fun night by having some drinks. We went to 5 different places that night: Reserve Gastro Tavern (bar-resto), Bank Bar MNL (secret bar somewhere in BGC), Roofdeck Bar at Z hostel (my go-to chill place), Finders Keepers (not-so-secret bar in Makati) and Black Market (club),  so we ended up going home at around 4:00 am on Sunday. It was so fun, pure clean fun (well except that we had a couple of drinks). It's been ages since we went out like that because after college what we would usually do is just go out for coffee or dinner. We kinda did some reminiscing about our college days, made us all nostalgic.

Getting Rid of Hair with Lasers or IPL Treatments

Getting rid of unwanted body hair is an issue that many people deal with all the time, especially women. While traditional methods like shaving and waxing are popular, some people find them tedious and annoying. If you are one of those people, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or laser treatment might be the right course of action for you.

Similarities and Differences Between IPL and Lasers
While many people have heard of lasers, IPL is not quite as well known in some circles. Even if you have heard of it, you might here “Intense Pulsed Light” and immediately think that IPL is the same as laser treatment. It's not the same at all. Laser procedures used focused beams of light and heat. IPL involves far less heat, and often uses a less focused form of light that covers a wider area at once.
