The Sunday Currently: Vol. 22

Ah what a weekend! Adding to the busy week at work was a busy weekend. I attended food-related events 3 days in a row this weekend. Starting Friday with no sleep (still have work on Friday nights), Saturday with very little sleep and  Sunday with almost reasonable sleep. But it was fun! Foodie meet ups are always fun!

It's May in a couple of seconds and how time flies so fast, the next thing I know it's my already birthday and then the holidays. I don't know if I want time to slow down or go quickly. I want it to slow down because I want to do a lot of things; and then I want it fast forward because I want some things to happen asap. Anyhoo, keeping this short as I'm super sleepy.

Your Hair Is Your Identity

Hair is identity. How you wear it says quite a lot about who you want to be and where you’re headed that day. Think a no-fuss high ponytail for the gym or an elegant chignon for a black-tie affair. I, myself, believe that my hair is my identity and ever since I hit college and up until now that I’m already a professional worker, my hair has always been quite long. 

I’ve never wanted to cut my hair short for the fear that it won’t suite me or it won’t grow back that easy and faster than I want it to be for whenever a long bob is not a good decision. I always wanted to be adventurous with my hair but only when it comes to color. But sometimes I get to the point that I want to have a new look so I always get into this cross-roads of cutting it. I haven’t found the courage though, not just yet.

What's up ladies?! I'm back with another haul, well a mini-haul rather, from Rosegal. Heads up, this is a sponsored post but as always I'm only going to write my honest review about the items that I got from this site. Rosegal.com is one of the many Asian-based online shopping sites. They originally offer vintage style clothing but ventured also to contemporary fashion offering clients hundreds of styles of dresses, swimwear, jewelry, shoes, bags and other fashion-related items. 

But before I go into the details of my mini haul and review, let me just address something. In my previous posts about hauls I have reviewed from Rosegal and other online stores, I've received a mixed reactions via the comments I got. First of all, you're buying online, you don't get to see or fit the item in person and you only relay to the info given by the brand. So there are tendencies that the items don't exactly look like what were posted or sometimes the sizing is off.

Mazza Shawarma - McKinley Hill

Besides Japanese cuisine, Mediterranean food is one of my favorite cuisines in the whole while world. I always dream of travelling to Morocco and eating authentic food from that region. But since that is still a far off dream that I have to chase, I'm settling for what is readily available at the moment.

I love that Manila isn’t scarce of restaurants that offer the Mediterranean fare. Some are authentic, some are fusion and some are close to the Filipino palate. One of which is Mazza Shawarma. I always pass by this place every time I go to work. I had this belief that they only serve shawarma; but when I finally stepped foot in it, I discovered they have a lot of menu offerings besides shawarma and shawarma rice.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 21

I knew I can't do this TSC thing religiously but I should not fuss about it. Blogging or writing should never feel like an obligation to begin with. I don't know about other bloggers, but I started this blog, TBH, as a way to break the monotony of my daily life. But if I don't feel like blogging, I don't force myself. But when I'm in the mood, I can freakin' write a post in 5-10 minutes or finish 10 backlogs in a day.

So, the past two weeks have been spent mostly for work. It was a super toxic past few weeks. Of course, I can't disclose the details as per company confidentiality policies. My life had been work-home/eat/sleep-repeat. The weekends were spent catching up on sleep or just plainly doing nothing at all. 

Hai Chix and Steaks - Greenhills

Don’t you just love it when you set expectations and they don’t disappoint? This is exactly what I experience during one of my gastronomic conquests. I had a scheduled catch-up with one of my best college friends one Sunday afternoon. I didn’t ate that morning or lunch even, so I was pretty much dying of hunger when we met up late that afternoon. 

I opened my Zomato app and searched for restaurants in and around Greenhills and filtering them via ratings. Hai Chix and Steaks caught my eye and there were a lot of favorable reviews about it. I trusted my guts and suggested this place to my friend who agreed right then and there.
