Staycation: Lee Boutique Hotel - Tagaytay

Ok, so I can't think of any "more catchy" title for this post. My mind's too lazy and too tired to function after a day at work completing 70+ cases, enough said. So this is basically my review for LEE BOUTIQUE HOTEL in Tagaytay. I remember I was supposed to write our experience about this hotel when a few days back I had a long chat using FB with my BFF who lives in NYC. This is just one of the many write ups that I want to blog about. A couple of months ago, she and her fiance tied the knot in Tagaytay, it was 6 years in the making, perfect couple (of course! ;) ) She has been one of my best friends for the longest time, we were friends since day immemorial! I was her maid-of-honor (truly an honor!)

Since it's a destination wedding and we didn't want to drive back to Manila after, I searched the net to look for a place where we can stay for the a night. And Lee Boutique was very appealing and Agoda offered a fair price so I booked a Superior Room.

We went up to Tagaytay the morning of the wedding but didn't go straight to the hotel because I being the MOH needed to be at the hotel to assist my BFF (I wish I had done that part well.. hehe). I can vividly remember it was a traffic jam from Sta. Rosa to Taal Vista Hotel, so we decided not to go straight to Lee Boutique anymore plus I called them beforehand and they told me that they can't promise that they can give a room for an early check-in.

The wedding ended at around 10pm and we were already so tired. When we got to the hotel only the front-desk officer was there to welcome us. After a few minutes of waiting they lead us to our room and the reception officer told us that they have upgraded our room to a DELUXE ROOM! Now, that's a first! I haven't had the luck to experience an accommodation to be upgraded.. as in never!

The room speaks for itself; it was huge and stylish compared to the other hotels we've been to. We also love how it is decorated, very inviting. Complete with a sofa, ottoman, desk tables and chairs, TV, personal ref, coffee-maker, safe, closet, and complimentary drinks.

freebies:

mini ref:

The bed was comfy enough though the pillows lacks the fluffiness that I am looking for.

The bathroom is decent and clean; complete with the basic toiletries that we needed for our stay. Though I always bring my own stuff when I travel. They even had the type of shower that I'm dreaming to have at home :)

I noticed though that almost all the rooms are of the same size and the difference of the superior room from the deluxe type is only the balcony. Although it’s nice to have a balcony especially if you’re in Tagaytay, and you want to savour the cool Tagaytay breeze particularly at night and early morning.

I woke up early the following day and made myself coffee and just hang out by myself at the balcony... Ahhhh... precious moment! The downside though of Lee Boutique is that it doesn't have a view of the famous Taal Volcano and lake.  I had no view just the street below and people walking. But it was ok, the cool morning air was enough to make me feel relax after the long day we had the day before.

Our hotel booking came with free set breakfast. The choices are limited and the food was just so-so. We had our breakfast at the hotel's in-house restaurant at the basement.

These were our breakfasts:

The hotel also has a roof deck where guests can hang out. This area is equally accommodating. But since we need to go back to Manila the following day, we didn't get to hang out here anymore.

Lee Boutique's service was ok, nothing excellent. But if you're going to ask me, I'd love to stay at Lee Boutique again, mainly for the reason that their room was comfortable and big (especially the couch!). The location is also perfect because it's near all the major tourists spots in Tagaytay and you can easily locate it considering it's just along the main highway.

I just have 3 things that I didn't like (of course...)
- the free Wi-fi connection is kinda slow/poor, I don't know if it is because our room is at the farthest end of the hall.
- the walls are probably just double-walling because we can hear people talking outside of our room.
- no view of Taal Volcano and Taal lake.

I really loved our stay at Lee Boutique Hotel. I think we would still enjoy our stay there even if our room was not upgraded.

  2. Great Review!

May I ask if this hotel is near SKY RANCH? Any idea how easy it is to find TAXI along the hi-way?

    Thank you in advance!

    2. it is not that close, but the distance of Lee Boutique from Sky Ranch is acceptable. I don't think that there are taxis in Tagaytay, but you can hail a tricycle or a jeepney and ask the driver to drop you at Sky ranch... hope this helps :)

    1. hi juvy, if by private transportation/car we usually take SLEX then Sta Rosa going all the way up to Tagaytay, upon reaching Tagaytay-Calamba Road (landmark: Econo Inn with the Tagaytay sign) turn right, Lee Boutique is a few meters on the left just after the Iglesia ni Cristo Shrine

If you're commuting, I think you should take buses going to nasugbu, batangas, get off at tagaytay and hail a trike and ask the driver to bring you to Lee Boutique
