Filipino Food Re-Imagined at Soleras

Creativity is something that Filipinos don’t lack and it’s evident in a so many ways. And yes, even though this pandemic or even in toughest times. Especially when it comes to food, need I say more about turning pandesal into different flavors, all the baked sushi variants etc. We never stop reimagining nor reinventing especially with Filipino cuisine. ⁣

Recently, I visited this very unique and newly opened restaurant in Banawe, Quezon City called 𝐒𝐨π₯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬. This restaurant screams nothing but being unique. Why? First, it’s inside a store that sells hardware and construction tools & products. If women make their boyfriends/husbands wait when they go shopping, let’s just say the table would be turned this time around. But women who will accompany their significant others who’s busy looking at tools won’t be bored, and they can just try out the food that Soleras is offering. Of course, you can bring the whole family too! ⁣

Another thing that makes this restaurant unique are their dishes!

Angus Beef Pares– beef pares using Angus beef, plus bone marrow for only PHP 149! Beat that! ⁣

Espesyal na Bulalong Lugaw – your overloaded lugaw! Everything that you want to go into your lugaw is there, with bone marrow pa! Good for sharing! ⁣

Pancit Sampler – toppings of the pancit are 𝐒𝐒𝐬𝐒𝐠, 𝐁𝐒𝐜𝐨π₯ π„π±π©π«πžπ¬π¬ and 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬! Have you heard anything like this? I was surprised with how good Bicol Express would go so good with pancit bihon! Must try! ⁣

Pritong Itik – quite an exotic dish if you ask me, but the skin was super crispy and was tasty⁣.

Keso Dinakdakan – one of my fave Ilocano dishes topped with cheddar cheese! Super good and I didn’t know cheese would go so well with dinakdakan! ⁣

We also tried their Ginumis and Gulaman as refreshments/desserts. ⁣Ginumis Ginumis is a shaved ice dessert much like the more popular halo-halo. It is, however, set apart in flavor by its use of coconut cream and a sweet syrup made from panutsa.

So if you’re near the area or just want to try a new kind of dining experience you can visit them for dine in (they implement strict safety protocols btw). Or you can go for any food delivery service. ⁣
