It's Ticoy's break-in! And the timing couldn’t be any more perfect, it’s our friends' birthdays too! They decided to come with us to Subic to celebrate the day that they will be a year older. It was a rainy week and our road trip was not spared. Our drive in NLEX was pretty smooth, and I concurred with NLEX’s slogan’s “Sa NLEX parang laging brand new ang sasakyan mo.” lol! Though we can’t stop laughing when we saw that poster in one of the toll gate.
We also had a good drive along SCTEX. The view seems like you’re not in the Philippines, it was pretty and relaxing with all those green fields and hills. What I don’t like about SCTEX is that there were no stop-over at all, only a Portalet on the side of the road.
Upon entering Subic, we were greeted by fog! it was so ironic since we were dressed-up like it was summer. It was like a scene from Twilight, that any moment Edward or Jacob will suddenly appear in the middle of the road.
Xtremely Xpresso
Mine- Chef’s recommendation: Stuffed Porkchops (way too big of a meal for me! burp!)
The Big Ben Pizza
The Eschimocha
It was lunch time when we arrived at Subic, thus we decided to look for Xtremely Xpresso first. I was kind of heedless not to print any map of our destinations in Subic. We got lost and drove around until we made a miraculous turn and ended right in front of Xtremely Xpresso. Xtremely Xpresso for some, it might be just another coffee shop, but I personally fell in love with it at first sight. Too bad it was quite raining, hence, dining al-fresco was not an option. The main dining area inside Xtremely Xpresso will sort of transport you to the spreads of Country Home magazine. The decorations, fixtures and furniture boast a country-feel. The place was packed with people ( it was lunch time and it was a weekend), as a result we were seated at the patio area.
Xtremely Xpresso’s food are great, I’ve tasted all that we’ve ordered and I liked everything. The highlight of the meal was the Big Ben pizza (RM and EA’s treat) and the “Eschimocha” (mocha frappuccino). But before we go to that, let me share to you our eats:
Chef’s recommendation: Baby Back Ribs (it’s pork though but really juicy and tender, tastes like that of Bannaple’s)
- Xtremely Xpresso 's Baby Back Ribs
RM- Meat Lasagna ( I like their lasagna)
The Big Ben Pizza
We were already full from what we had, yet we figured we should try the pizza since it’s probably one of the reasons why Xtremely Xpresso became well-known. And I’m telling you that it tasted as great as how it looks on the photo. This is highly recommended!
The Eschimocha
We were contemplating on whether to order gelatos or cakes for our desserts. We got the frapuccinos instead, after all, Xtremely Xpresso is an Italian-inspired coffee shop/resto. And the Eschimocha did not fail us! I loved how it tasted; the bitter-sweetness of the cacao was very distinct yet did not over-powered the coffee. It is on a par with Starbuck’s and Gloria Jean’s fraps. Highly recommended as well!
Xtremely Xpresso definitely lived-up to my expectations and what the reviews say about this place are mostly true. By the way, their service is very good too.
So if you happen to visit Subic, check this place out.
