Shaw Residenza Suites Review

It's only my second time to experience using a serviced apartment. the first one was back in college and it was at Astoria Plaza. This time around my small group at church decided to hold an overnight Christmas party at Shaw Residenza Suite in Shaw Blvd. Mandaluyong City. 



I've already heard about Shaw Residenza and have been passing by it for years and only a few weeks ago that I was able to set foot on it. It is conveniently located in Shaw Blvd where there are so many establishments around. Puregold Supermarket and Bon Chon are just across it, a Red Ribbon bakeshop is just a few steps away and there's also a nearby Army Navy, Starbucks and Project Pie. 



The booking was made by one of my small group members so i really don't know how convenient it was to book a room from them. When we got there at around 12:00 noon, we were told that there's no available room yet since the usual check in time is 2:00 pm. We just tried our chances but since it was a weekend luck was not on our side. 

You have to go down a few steps from the sidewalk to get to the entrance of Shaw Residenza, which quite surprised us. The staff was courteous enough to offer us their storage room for all the stuff that we brought with us while we wait for an available room. Since we still got 2 hours to wait, we went to Bon Chon across the street to have our lunch. 



Before you can get inside the lobby, you have to inform the front desk because the glass doors are electronically locked. You have to have the access card before you can get in, and only one was issued to us; and we have to go out of the condotel to buy stuff from the supermarket across the street. The hallways to the rooms are not well lit though, it's kinda scary at night to walk alone in the hallways hehehe. 

Each Shaw Residenza Suite is a fully furnished loft type unit enjoying either a refreshing golf course view or the Makati Skyline (ours had the Makati skyline). Each unit has two bedrooms, two toilets & bath, living room, kitchenette and dining area. All units all have free Wifi Internet access and cable TV.



The living room has a 3-seater sofa plus a single chair; there's also a center table and a wide table where the TV set was placed. The whole first floor of the suite is cooled with a split type air-conditioning. There's 2 bathroom, one in the main area and one upstairs and they have available water heaters and towels.

The kitchen has a microwave, a ref, a rice cooker, cooking utensils, induction stove, oven toaster, rice cooker, electric water kettle, and six sets of plates, cutlery and glasses. The dining table can seat 4 people. Extra seats can be requested which I don't if there's a fee for them.



The unit has 2 rooms upstairs, furnished with pillows and linens. There are also cabinets and dressers in each room. The master bedroom– has one double bed; the second room has two single beds and both rooms have air conditioning units.

All units have free Internet WiFi access in the units. Certain appliances (such as iPod docks, blender, washing machine etc) and request for parking slot subject to availability. The wi-fi connection was quite slow and only 3 gadgets can access it at a time.
 

Since we were having a Christmas party with a theme of pajama party, we decided to decorate the unit with Christmas decors and flowers to set the mood and make the place more cozy and inviting. The decorating was a success because our other small group members loved it. 

    By the way, there's a playground, swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym at the 7th floor. We didn't get to try those amenities though because we had lots of activities and games during our party. Below are the photos that I grabbed from their website.
 

  
Overall, it was a great stay at Shaw Residenza Suites and  the price for the loft suite was i think worth it.  Not everyone of our small group at church stayed overnight though because I think they will charge extra if more than what was required would stay for the night. 

Parties are allowed but make sure you keep the noise at tolerable levels, don't break anything and don't be rowdy or make any commotions. As for us, we had good and clean fun and just enjoyed being together as a spiritual family, being inspired, being an inspiration and most of all glorifying God.
