Super Sulit KBBQ at Geonbae - Tomas Morato

Life as we know it has come to a halt. If you know me, you know that I love going out with friends on weekends, most of the time to east our or attend foodie events. All travels and events have been cancelled, I’m working from home now and stayed put over the weekend (and probably until after this crisis has been contained).

What’s happening now can be tedious and scary, but we must do our social and moral duties and discipline ourselves to follow the laid-out rules of our government’s interventions. More specially to set aside our political beliefs because it is beyond that now.

I’m looking forward to the day that all these will be just a thing of the past that we have learned something from. We will all be able to get back t our normal lives, meet up with family and friends again, enjoying the things that we love to do. Just like traveling and eating out.

I can’t wait for the day that I can go out and meet friends and eat out. I’ve seen posts on social media asking people what they want to eat after this health crisis subsides; and I’ve seen many responded that they want to eat Korean BBQ. And I couldn’t agree more!

Well, here’s one of the Korean BBQ places that you can check out for when the lockdown has been lifted: Geonbae Modern Korean Bar and Grill in Tomas Morato, Quezon City. Geonbae, coined after the Korean word for "cheers" or "bottoms up", the brand embodies a fun and unique approach on Korean cuisine. Geonbae is one of the places where you can get super value for money.⁣⁣

Geonbae’s usual price is at PHP 649 for Dinner Rate from Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM onwards and Kid’s Rate is 50% off (10 years old and below). Their unlimited Korean BBQ is composed of 21 side dishes, 15 types of meat, 4 rice and noodle bowls and soon they will include a hotpot option as well.

While Side Dishes comprise of Odeng (fish cake), Hobak Jeon (pumpkin pancake), Pajeon (green onion pancake), Gyeran Jjim (steamed egg), Myulchi Bokkeum, Napa Kimchi, Lettuce, Gamja Jurim (potato marble), Kimchi Bokkeubap (kimchi fried rice), Plain Rice, Dipping Cheese, Tuna Sashimi and Salmon Sashimi.

Different types of plain and marinated Meats are composed of Samgyeopsal (Pork Belly), Spicy Yakiniku Samgyeopsal, Ginger Samgyeopsal, Gochujang Samgyeopsal, Smoked Pork Belly, Spicy Yakiniku Pork Ribs, Spicy Yakiniku Moksal, Herb Pork Jowl, Pork Bulgogi, Sausage, Woo Samgyeop (Beef Belly), Oyster Woo Samgyeop, Gochujang Woo Samgyeop, Ginger Chicken Fillet and Assorted Odeng.

Rice bowls are also included and hotpot option will soon be added. The hotpot includes 2 soups, meats, seafood, veggies and noodles.

Geonbae doesn't only offer modern take on Korean barbeque but also applies it to their restaurant's interior design and and mode of ordering. You will need to use an app which you can access through a QR Code to order meats and side dishes.

You can visit them at their 3 branches at U.P. Town Center, Marikina and Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
