I know it seems like times are normal again, but let’s not fool ourselves, the pandemic is still happening, and we should still be careful and vigilant. As restaurants and bars reopen to the public, it’s important to realize that eating out will increase your risk of exposure to the new coronavirus. I know, we all miss going out and meeting in person, but the way to go is still, food delivery, really. It’s proven safer than dining out. Sacrifices needed to be made, but in time, we will all enjoy dining out again.
I’m pretty sure there’s so many restaurants in your favorite list that you want to visit when all this chaos really subsides. The good thing though is that you don’t have to restrict yourself now and just wait just to get a fix from your cravings. Since we’re all in supporting our local businesses, dining in is not the only solution to help businesses to stay afloat. Personally, I’m rotating buying from friends selling food, small businesses and established restaurants that I love.
One restaurant that I really like is Chef Jessie Restaurant. I dined at their Rockwell restaurant last year with a good friend of mine and totally enjoyed each dish that was placed on our table. You can read about my experience there here: Sunday Fine Dining Brunch at Chef Jessie - Rockwell Club.
I’m just glad that Chef Jessie is now offering its patrons take out and delivery. I know it’s not the same dining experience when you are inside one of the Chef Jessie Restaurants, because of how cozy and elegant their establishments are, but surely, if you opt for the take-out or delivery service, you’ll still get the best tasting food you used to enjoy at the Chef Jessie Restaurant.
So, today, I’m sharing with you all what I got from Chef Jessie via delivery:
Ciabatta Breads - is an Italian bread made with wheat flour, salt, yeast, and water. Since Ciabatta typically does not contain any fat in it, it yields a very soft and chewy texture making it a perfect bread for sandwiches, paninis or as an appetizer paired with some butter or dips. I’ve tried the breads from Chef Jessie during the opening of Chef Jessie’s Place in Makati and when I dined in at Chef Jessie in Rockwell, and I can attest as to how good they are; very filling too. They also smell good, especially when warm, giving you a sweet and enticing aroma. Although, I ate this Ciabatta breads without reheating, yet they still tasted good, by itself or with dip or spread.
Teddy Keng’s Chocolate Gateau Cake – this comes in two sizes: 6 and 8 inches. Most of Chef Jessie’s dishes are named after her friends (some are celebrities) I have no idea as to why though. A gateau is a dense, egg-yolk rich cake, typically served in layers with filling. This is absolutely a sinfully delicious cake layered with a chocolate cream filling. It’s light and not overly sweet, so even if you have had one too many slices, you won’t feel queasy. I like chocolate cake but if it’s too sweet, it’s definitely not gonna go to my fave list. This one though, is going to go on my fave chocolate cake list. Also, can I just rave about how beautifully decorated this cake is, just look at that topper made of delicate chocolate petals resembling a lotus flower opening up. Anyone who you’ll gift this too, will love it. It’s one of those cakes, that you’ll have a hard time slicing because you don’t want to destroy it, because it’s so pretty. Moreover, it is one of those cakes that tastes good as good as it looks.

ReplyDeleteAng sarap nmn..Sana one day mkakain din ako jan..
ReplyDeleteI am craving the Special Dip for bread. The ingredients and the expected fusion of flavors are my favorite. I felt my tummy rumble after reading this.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably spend a few minutes just looking at the cake and take a few photos of 'em for a while. Hahaha! It looks really good and I agree with you po, sometimes the cakes that has less sugar or sweet are the ones that make up to the cake list ✨
ReplyDeleteThe cakes are so cute!! I can't wait to taste it. Sadly, I'm still here the province. Is Rockwell their only branch?
ReplyDeleteSuper nag-drool talaga ako nung nakita ko tong post mo sa FB. Parang ang sarap nung cake huhu. Never ko pa natikman or napuntahan restaurant nila. Happy to know nagdedeliver sila.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this full coverage of your experience in Chef Jessie's resto, will definitely try to dine with wife
ReplyDeleteThe one which caught my attention was Teddy Keng’s Chocolate Gateau Cake since I'm a big fan of sweets particularly chocolate cakes. Really love how the cake was designed, parang nakakapanghinayang talaga kasi kainin dahil nung presentation pero wala magagawa kundi picturean na lang then kainin haha. I'm glad they have delivery services during this time, so for those na magke crave sa mga inooffer sa menu ni Chef Jessie makaka order agad without having to go outside.
ReplyDeleteAng ganda ng restaurant nila and the food looks delicious too.I prefer to eat dine-in for that type of ambiance but since there is a pandemic I can consider take away. For bigger servings na din pala yung takeout nila which is nice.
ReplyDeletemy gosh nakakatakam! alamo yung bread lang at yung spread na nakalagay masaya na ako. yun lang busog na ako!
ReplyDeleteBefore the quarantine, my boyfriend took me to Chef Jessie's at Rockwell. We both enjoyed their Pasta a la Jessie (though I also liked Putanesca), Pan Fried Goose liver Salad and Tenderloin Salpicao. But our favorite would be their cake, Princess Carmen. My boyfriend even insisted to buy one to take home with us. I'm glad that they finally have the option to deliver and I can't wait to tell my boyf. Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteI agree, the Teddy Keng’s Chocolate Gateau Cake is so beautiful! Parang mahiya ako ng konting sirain sya. haha. I love chocolate cake but yes, ung not super sweet naman.
ReplyDeleteI agree. This is the time when we should be more vigilant. Let’s stay home as much as possible and just order delivery. We can still have fancy food and a fancy dining experience at home anyways. This menu looks quite good as well. Haha
ReplyDeleteThis is the best time to support local businesses. Okay take-out is the best for now. Here in Australia, restaurants are back in business including dine-in with limited capacity.
ReplyDeleteDun talaga ako sa cake napatingin eh! Miss going to restaurants as well so for now tingin tingin at nasa basa basa muna sa mga blogs.
ReplyDeleteWow! Ive never heard of this and also ang ganda ng cake ah! I should definitely try this! Panalo sa design plus im a chocolate cake lover 😂
ReplyDeleteGusto ko magpadeliver neto. Naintriga ako sa lasa ng dip nila! Nako natakam ako dis oras ng gabi!
ReplyDeleteoh my my, nakakw gutom naman ang foods nila.. sayang lang at nasa Leyte ako :( want to taste it
ReplyDeleteThe bread looks very soft and interesting yung bread dip ha. Do they sell the dip in a jar, like takeaway?
ReplyDeleteThe cake looks delicately designed and perfected to a nice luscious chocolate taste. The prices seem a bit expensive, but I guess their food is good for sharing?
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I agree with buying from our friends to keep their business running. Supporting small businesses is something that I also firmly advocate for.
Will definitely try to visit this place one day! The chocolate cake looks so good! Thank you for sharing ;)
ReplyDeleteLooking at the chocolate cake makes me crave it so bad. convenient na rin ang food delivery nila but I would also prefer dining in here.
ReplyDeleteLooking at these photos makes me want to visit the place, I will sure to visit this place when I go back to Philippines. My husband will love those breads and dip, french style and cosy! love it!
ReplyDeleteI super love bread and dips! Actually most of the time when we go out I go for plain bread. Also, bagay sa kahit anong drink. Nakakamiss naman!
