The lady behind it all is Diana Ang-Uy who has been in the catering and restaurant business for over 20 years. “I just love weddings,’ gushes Diana. “And yes, debut as well, “she added. In the summer of 1991, after finishing her Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management at St. Paul College Quezon City, Ms. Po Diana Ang founded Po Diana Food Service Inc. It was a “one-woman, home-based catering operation”. Financed by her father and using the family kitchen as her base of operations, with friends and relatives as immediate employees, Diana ventured into the gastronomic world of the catering business. She was marketing officer, booker, purchaser, stockwoman, cook, server, host and any other position her infant company needed her to be.
It is a company operating in 5 major metropolitan and provincial locations while maintaining a client list in the hundreds comprised of private individuals, captains of industry and government and private institutions alike. Because of its culinary proficiency in traditional and contemporary Filipino, Asian, European and other international dishes, the company is capable of fulfilling every client’s gastronomic needs and desires. What’s Cookin Kitchenette has, so far, catered events with 50 to 5,000 guests. They can also set up in any location.
