The lady behind it all is Diana Ang-Uy who has been in the catering and restaurant business for over 20 years. “I just love weddings,’ gushes Diana. “And yes, debut as well, “she added. It feels so good to make someone’s special day so unforgettable. Diana believes that everyone deserve the best no matter the requirements and budget. They have several packages and they can easily come up with custom-made arrangements. 

In the summer of 1991, after finishing her Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management at St. Paul College Quezon City, Ms. Po Diana Ang founded Po Diana Food Service Inc. It was a “one-woman, home-based catering operation”. Financed by her father and using the family kitchen as her base of operations, with friends and relatives as immediate employees, Diana ventured into the gastronomic world of the catering business. She was marketing officer, booker, purchaser, stockwoman, cook, server, host and any other position her infant company needed her to be. 

Her first few catering jobs were small and only for family friends and relatives, but as her experience, expertise and resources grew, so did her confidence and reputation for uncompromising and impeccable food and service. Soon she was catering to both private individuals and private and government institutions alike.

With the country’s developing economy, Diana took a bold leap to keep abreast with the fast changing times and formed what is now What’s Cookin Kitchenette, a company that has grown and diversified into the various segments of the catering and food service industry. Since then, the company has owned and operated restaurants and canteens. It has managed concessions for various companies and institutions.

Today, the business once conceived by an enterprising young woman in the family kitchen is now a company with more than 20 years of experience and expertise in the catering and food service industry, capable of catering and servicing multiple events and venues to thousands at any given time, due to its sound management and logistic capabilities. 

It is a company operating in 5 major metropolitan and provincial locations while maintaining a client list in the hundreds comprised of private individuals, captains of industry and government and private institutions alike. Because of its culinary proficiency in traditional and contemporary Filipino, Asian, European and other international dishes, the company is capable of fulfilling every client’s gastronomic needs and desires. What’s Cookin Kitchenette has, so far, catered events with 50 to 5,000 guests. They can also set up in any location.

The table set-ups and flower arrangements are all by What’s Cookin Kitchenette. An avid cook and baker, Diana supervises the preparation of all the food and desserts. Some of the dishes are based on recipes passed down from her grandmother and mother. 

Diana has maintained a strict level of quality in all their offerings and service. She credits her team’s expertise, dedication and loyalty. Some of her employees have been with her for 25 years.
