Hearty Breakfast Buffet at Spice Cafe - City Garden Grand Hotel

It is widely known and accepted that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast is not just fuel for the activities that lie in the day ahead; a great breakfast should awaken the senses, satisfy the taste buds, and lift our spirits. As John Gunther said: “All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast.” Just like all other meals of the day, breakfast should nothing but put a smile on our faces.

I’m not much of a breakfast person especially when my body is so used to the graveyard shift. But hotel breakfasts speaks volumes to me. This is what I look forward to whenever I stay in a hotel. Because besides being able to stuff myself with massive amounts of bacon, with breakfast buffets there is a variety of dishes that appeal to different cultural and national backgrounds.

During my staycation at City Garden Grand Hotel, I was able to try what they have to offer for their breakfast buffet at Spice Café. The day and night before that morning, I was able to experience the hotel’s Firefly Roofdeck Restaurant and Spice Café’s Ala Carte Menu and was pleased with what I got to devour. And because of such good experience, I was ecstatic about City Garden Grand’s breakfast buffet.

I love that I can decide just how much time I want to spend over breakfast. I mean I was able to sit back, relax and enjoy freshly brewed coffee with the blueberry and strawberry Danish pastries that I brought to our table from the bread section.

I walked along all the food sections and just took whatever that appealed to me and my tummy that morning. Hotel guests were spoiled for a lot of choices including DIY eggs; loads of bacon; dimsums (yes in the morning, can you believe?); an array of breads and pastries; French toasts, waffles and pancakes; congee; meat dishes; corned beef sliders; mushrooms; Filipino breakfast staples; a variety of cheeses and enticing salads that you can DIY as well.

A good breakfast gets your entire system up and running and will aid concentration throughout the day. And of course, a good breakfast should include healthy options. Spice Café had daing na bangus (smoked milk fish); different flavored yogurts; high-fiber cereals and breads; fresh fruits and milk.

Everything you see in the cover photo of this blog post is what I ate that morning. Sorry not sorry! Hahaha! I just love the Danish pastries, they were really so good! And of course, the cheeses, the bacon (though it was quite crispy for my liking), the omelet that the chef made me. I told him create me something that I will like and I just loved what he concocted; the egg was just right, not too runny or soggy and not too dry. And the yogurts! OMG I just loved them especially that they came in mango, blueberry and strawberry flavors. I was gonna go for second rounds of the yogurt but I was already quite full.

I truly appreciated Spice Café’s breakfast buffet; they have created a breakfast buffet that will put a smile on their guests’ faces, no matter where they’re from. They offer the good variety of breakfast options whatever your preference. So whether you feel like a leisurely traditional cooked breakfast, a healthy light snack or a bit of both, Spice Café got you covered.
