We all wish money grows on trees, but that is not the case and that only happens in dreams and fantasies. That is why as much as possible we get what our hard earned money is worth. This is why people love going to buffet of everything unlimited restaurants. You pay for just a minimal amount but you get many servings of food to your heart’s content. I love buffets even though some are better than others, I always see these kinds of places where I can get so much return for the money I’m spending.
Nowadays, people are going gaga over unlimited BBQ options. Most of my friends’ oft-repeated phrase is “Samgyup tayo” (let’s go for samgyup). Just last night my office mate was convincing our department to try the newly opened KBBQ in our building. Personally, I’m ok with these buffet or unlimited BBQ restos, but it’s not something that I would eat like every week or many times a week. Only when I crave it.

Just last month I was tagged along by one of my foodie friends to try out Yakiniku San in Robinson’s Galleria, which is a grill all you can place which serves a majority of Japanese dishes. Yakiniku, is a Japanese term meaning "grilled meat", or in its broadest sense, refers to grilled meat dishes. It’s similar to KBBQ but most of the marinades of the meats and the side dishes are Japanese. What separates Yakiniku San form other unlimited BBQ places is that everything in their menu is unlimited: meats, side dishes, drinks and even desserts. Whereas in other unli restos, you have to pay additional fees to get more varieties of meats, drinks and desserts. Just order what you like from the menu or get everything if you can fill all them in your tummy.
Their unlimited grill are priced at PHP 449 during lunch and PHP 499 for dinner. For their meats they serve 2 kinds of pork, 2 kinds of beef and 1 chicken. They 5 kinds of appetizers, 3 kinds of salads, 2 kinds of soups, 3 types of rice, 2 kinds of noodles, 2 types of tempura, 7 kinds of maki or Japanese rolls, 2 types of katsus, tofu furai, gyoza, chicken karaage, iced tea, sodas and ice creams.
Their store is a typical minimalist grill resto set up with hanging exhausts from the ceiling. Service is acceptable, I just don’t know how things are if the place is jam-packed on lunch or dinner time especially on weekends as I was there on a non-peak hour on a weekday. As for the food, with quality and taste, it was just ok. It’s rave-able because of the amount of dishes that are included and that they have beef options without having to add any payment. I also like their ice creams which comes in vanilla, matcha and sesame charcoal flavor. I can say it’s sulit narin especially if you just want to satisfy your unlimited BBQ cravings.
