The Sunday Currently: Vol. 23

First of all, I want to ask, how are you? I know times are rough nowadays due to the current situation of the world. If you’re feeling some type of cabin fever or any form of mental problems, please do reach out to someone or to organization that provides help. I know it ain’t easy, we may not have the same level of suffering or problem, but we’re all in this together. And please don’t lose hope, cliché as it may sound,  there’s always a rainbow after the rain.

If you’re going to ask me, I’m getting by. I can’t say I’m fine and I can’t say I’m not doing great either. But hey, I am grateful no matter what. I stopped writing this TSC series, I believe a few years now, around 3 years now to be exact. I still want to have a lot of backlog posts to write, especially the travels I did in the last few years, however, I will try to resurrect this series. This is my form of getting personal to my readers, if I still have some who visits this blog on a regular basis. Furthermore, maybe as form of a digital journal as well.

It’s technically almost 12 midnight and what I’m about to write here is a mix of what has been going through my mind and my life in the past few weeks. The last week, the Philippines has been experiencing the hottest weather the country has ever experienced in years or may be even centuries. One place in the Philippines even registered a 53 degrees Celsius temperature. That is so sick and very dangerous as well. I wouldn’t mind having that level of heat, if only I’m at the beach. But in the city, it’s so damn humid! I can only hope that I am at the beach, laying on fine, soft white sand and enjoying the salty sea breeze caressing my entire body and soul. Hence, the cover photo.

Reading
I told myself that I will finish all the four books that I bought from last year’s Big Bad Wolf Book FairI only finished two of those, but I'm currently reading (or shall I say reviewing) The Notebook by Ms. Karen Faye, a UK NMC CBT reviewer. So that when this lock down has been lifted, I can finally take my exams.

Writing
As of the moment, just this TSC entry but I'm also planning to write another blog post for Tahanan Bistro in Antipolo City, which I visited during my sister's and brother-in-law's wedding dinner.

Listening
I've just recently discovered LoFi Hip Hop music and I really love it. many says it's the best type of music to listen to when you're doing something or need to focus. Lofi Hip Hop refers to a genre of music that mashes up traditional hip-hop and jazz elements to create an atmospheric, instrumental soundscape. Sine I'm working from home, I have to have complete focus of what I'm doing and LoFi Hip-Hop music is non-distracting and just gives a chill vibe.

Thinking
About how I'm gonna spend my last day off from work. How to schedule each task and how much time I should spend on each. Hopefully, the laziness and sleepiness bugs won't bite me and I'll be able to do something productive with the remaining day I have left before I go back to work on Monday night.

Smelling
So just this week, my good friends at Hodai Restaurant sent me a bunch  of dishes and raw meats for me and my family to enjoy. I was craving so much for some samgyup and thank you to the samgyup gods and Hodai of course for answering my cravings and prayers! Good thing that my mom bought an Electric Indoor Grill months before the lock down happened. The sound and smell of sizzling meat on a grill were music to my ears and an aroma that pleased my nose.

Wishing
That a vaccine or a cure to the current illness that is making millions of people suffer, all over the world, will be finally be discovered. So we can all go back to the normal life that we used to know. Plus, I'm so itching to travel again!

Hoping
That it's going to rain everyday in the next few days. May is actually the season where it starts to rain in the Philippines. A few days ago it rained for a couple of hours and that has relieved a lot of people from the very discomforting heat and humidity.

Wearing
A black tank top with a tribal elephant print that I bought at one of the night market shops inside Asiatique The Riverfront in Bangkok plus one of my VS Pink sleep shorts. WIth this weather, I dont think I can wear a regular t-shirt and shorts.

Loving
Into The Night, the new French Series on Netflix (it has an English dub and sub-title). I've seen its trailer a few days ago and Netlfix dropped it on May 1 or May 11, I'm not really sure. Anyhow, at first, I wasn't so interested on it, but after seeing a post from a Facebook friend, raving about it. I thought I should give it a go. And after the first episode, I was hooked! Unfortunately the series has only 6 episodes, the ending was somewhat a cliffhanger but also can be just what the ending is. We will never know if there's a season 2 for it, since there's no announcement.

Wanting
To eat something sweet, hey, we're in quarantine, all that comes to mind is sleep and food.

Needing
To sleep now, so that I can still have my full Sunday to do the things that I need to do.

Feeling
I don't exactly know what I'm feeling actually. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  5. We are both hoping for the vaccine to be made commercially available to bring us back to normal we know. Under lockdown truly is a miserable fate, however, we are surviving this altogether. Keep safe always.

  6. I feel you! I feel like I'm caught in the middle of everything. I'm really trying my best to keep regular routines and schedules just to have some sense of normalcy. Some days, I feel like I'm acing it but there are also days where I feel like the complete opposite. Writing, Netflix and baking is a great diversion for me. Stay safe and healthy! And God bless and protect you on your work!

  10. We feel the same~ Regarding the vaccine I hope they can discover it soon. But this morning I saw a news that they discovered the pro-biotics from kimchi helps to strengthen the immune system. It's like they're developing something about it to fight the corona.

  12. Ohh! I think I should make this kind of post, too! As a reminder in the future. I'm curious about the Lo-Fi HipHop music. I like listening to R&B and some hiphop songs so I'll check that out. :)

  15. There are times when I envy those bloggers who live in Manila. I missed lots of opportunities because most of the business owners who sends me a message are located in Manila. They can't send products or items in Cavite at the moment. LOL.
Anyway, I hope to try Hodai Restaurant too after this pandemic. Hehe!

  21. This is a good series you should definitely continue. It's comforting to know that some people are actually feeling or not knowing what their feeling too. There's just so much we can do at home and we shouldn't push ourselves too much. This will pass. Let's just get though this.
