Walk Down The Aisle in DressWe

It's the month of June once more... And what comes to mind when we here that? For most girls, when they hear that word, nothing comes to mind first but wedding. Yes, many girls want to become a June Bride. I don't know what's up with being a June bride. Well in the Philippines, June is the start of the rainy season, the  dry earth caused by drought brought about by Summer is rejuvenated by the downpours. But I've done a little research and here's what I found out:

During the 1400 and 1500, June was considered the time when people came outdoors after a long winter and bathed communally. I guess to marry when one is clean seemed to them to be a good beginning… It is quite possible that the use of flowers at weddings was also, initially, a way of masking body odor… June weddings also come from the Celtic calendar. Even the term “honeymoon” has a historical origin, referring to the first moon after the summer solstice – June 21 – which was called the “honey moon.”

Getting married in June, in pre-contraceptives times, meant that children conceived from these unions would be born the following spring, increasing their chances of survival after the long – and often very lean – winter months. Also, spring births would not interfere with the fall harvest, which was the busiest time of the year for most people.

Furthermore, the month of June is named after the goddess Juno, the Roman counterpart to Hera, the goddess of the hearth and home, and patron of wives. Due to hardships back then wives would have needed all the ‘divine’ assistance they could muster. Also, ancient tradition thought it would be most unlucky to marry in the month of May because in Roman times the Feast of the Dead and the Festival of the Goddess of Chastity both occurred in May.

So being a June bride means in modern times that you're clean, worthy and has the guidance of someone of higher power. Anyway, whatever your beliefs are, being a June bride still is something right?

Now when it comes to the silhouette of the dress to choose, one can never go wrong with choosing a  trumpet/mermaid cut. It goes well with any body type and flatters every girl's assets. It is also the trend in 2014 wedding dresses, just check out what Kim Kardashian, Hillary Duff and Fergie of Black Eyed Peas wore on their wedding day.

I also wear a modified and toned-down trumpet/mermaid gown on our wedding day and got lots of praises, and it really did flattered my body type and emphasized my assets hahahaha!

...

Trumpet/Mermaid Silhouette is a style of gown that features a gradually-flared skirt and a close-fitting bodice that skims the lines of the body, through the hips. Most trumpet wedding gowns begin to flare at about mid-thigh, and can be thought of as a sort of hybrid between the mermaid silhouette and the modified A-line silhouette. A trumpet dress, while similar to mermaid gowns, is a more understated silhouette, as the flare of the skirt of trumpet wedding gowns is much more gradual than that of the dramatically-flared mermaid's skirt.

Benefits of the Trumpet Silhouette:
- Adds feminine curves to a straight figure
- Offers a well-balanced display of drama and glamour
- Is a great option for full-figured brides who like the look of the mermaid silhouette, as it offers the perfect balance of curve accentuation and minimization.
- Allows more freedom of movement than the similar style of mermaid dresses
- Trumpet wedding gowns are less constrictive, and the flare generally starts at about mid-thigh, whereas the mermaid silhouette tightly hugs the hips and legs, flaring at the knees.

Here are some of  Dresswe.com's trumpet/mermaid wedding dresses that I find really pretty, which makes me want to get married all over again! Well, maybe after 10 years me and my husband can do a renewal of vows... lol!

  2. The best sneakers for shin splints will differ from person to person. Basically, this is really because the variances within the anatomy of the foot differ in each person. If you are constantly damaging your shin splint with injuries, then you will want more than only a good working shoe. I find this website for best leather sandals. You can visit this site.
