That Blue Dress from SheIn.com

We have different ways of coping up with stress; mine is quite costly because I tend to go on a retail therapy to somehow make me feel better. Should I feel sorry about spending money with something that makes me happy? I guess not and I bet you would agree with me on that.

Remember I said in my past posts that I won’t be purchasing anything online if the store is an international one because of the problems I’ve been having with customs in claiming my packages. Well, that’s only if I buy something and have it ship via postal mail, but when I use other shipping options like DEPEX or ARAMEX, I don’t have to pay for any customs fee whatsoever and the great thing is that it gets deliver straight to my house. Although I have to pay for the expedited shipping unlike if it’s via standard mail which is usually free.

I saw this dress from Sheinside.com that really caught my attention and had me dreaming of it for a good couple of nights. Since I still have bonus points from this site, I decided to use them on this purchase and pay for the expedited shipping fee. The processing period took the same amount of time but the shipping was faster compared to the time I have to wait for standard ones. The package was delivered straight to our house and the courier didn’t ask for any fee at all.

So here’s the outcome of my stress-reliever, I added this Blue Half Sleeve Hollow Striped Flare Dress and checked out asap. What got me about this dress is actually the color and the unique look of the material used for it. When I received the package, it felt kinda heavy and big.

The color of the dress is quite different from the photo shown on the website, it’s lighter and more of a royal blue than cobalt blue. But then again, I didn’t have any complaints with the slight difference in color because blue (besides teal and mint) is my favorite color. And the actual color of this dress is actually in a gorgeous shade of blue.

I must also mention and commend how well-made this dress is. It really is of great quality and you actually get a worth of your buck. I always order one size larger than my usual size to make sure there is always a room for alteration. I’d rather have something larger than my usual body size than have something smaller that I wouldn’t be able to wear at all. I had do some minimal alteration here and there to make the dress fit me like a glove and lessen the puffiness of the skirt/bottom part.
This is the first time I’ve seen a piece of clothing made of this type of fabric. I’m going to be honest and say that it’s kinda heavy and somewhat stiff but still wearable and comfy enough to be put on. There’s also a little snug feeling around the arm hole of the sleeve but was tolerable (or maybe because I have fat arms).

It came with a free white belt too, but I didn’t use it the first time I wore this dress. The dress already in itself has enough style on its own and I don’t think the belt needs to be added into the frock.

I guess you can wear this dress to anywhere (well except as a beach or summer dress) and at any event. For some weird reason though,  I am reminded of the Chinese terra cotta warrior’s armor with this dress but either way, this is one of my fave finds from Sheinside. It’s unique and absolutely amazing.

By the way this dress comes in other colors and styles that you check out:
