Sand Under My Feet: Latest Sample Room Haul

It's been awhile since I availed free items to try from Sample Room. I still got tons of beauty products that I haven't use and most of the samples released in the past months can be availed with points that I actually don't have. I haven't availed of their VIP points either so even if I wanted some of the samples I wasn't able to get them not to mention they sold out like pancakes.

I learn about Sample Room's latest releases via email newsletters and last week something caught my attention. Since I one can get a max of 3 samples per order I thought of making the most out of this one. Good thing all my points have already been returned to me.
So here's my latest Sample Room Haul:
Maxipeel's Fresh and Natural Skin Purifier This is what convinced me avail of Sample Room items again. I have been having a lot of stress breakouts this past few months and after reading that this is a first of its kind in the skincare market that clears the skin from external and internal contaminants delivering purified, healthy and fresh-looking skin. It is not a cleanser, not a toner and not an astringent.
It contains Glycolic acid, Lactic and salicylic acid, Tetrahydrodiferulolylmethane- from turmeric root (ginger), Niacinamide, Retinol and Vitamins C & E -- everything that I need to combat acne and its after effects (scars, darkening and large pores).

I am currently using Mario Badescu's glycolic acid toner and it stings so I was surprised when Fresh & Natural Skin Purifier felt cool on my skin, there was a teeny tiny sensation that I felt while smoothing it on my face but not as pronounced like that of Mario Badescu's. I have only used it for a week and it hasn't run out yet, and I haven't really seen any very obvious effect maybe I'll buy another bottle after this one and then we will see.

Sometimes cheaper products works well better than branded ones. This Fresh & Natural Skin Purifier only comes in a 50ml bottle and costs only P80 ($2) compared to my Mario Badescu which cost P1000+ ($22+) which unfortunately didn't do me anything. And just like any other product that contains AHAs and retinols you need to put on sunblock especially if you'll be exposed under the sun. (Which i am too lazy to do regularly hehehe)

Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream

Before going to bed I usually just wash my face with my derma prescribed soap and apply toner (Mario Badescu and my derma's Clindamycin toner on alternate nights) and that's it. I put moisturizer anymore and you know that that is an incomplete skin care regimen. You are supposed to cleanse-tone-moisturize.

Good thing I have enough Sample Room points to avail of Burt's Bees Radiance Night Cream. Burt's Bees products when released by Sample Room usually don't last until the next day so I was happy that there were still available samples.

I have never doubted Burt's Bees products, they are one of the best I have tried. From lip balms to lotions to salves etc. So I know for sure this sample is worth it. I have been applying it for a week now and it does makes my skin feel soft and hydrated whenever I wake up. It doesn't feel heavy or oily and is easily absorbed by the skin. My sample however is only 7g and the full sized 55g costs PHP 1000+. If this works wonders on me I might invest on it and have one of my friends from the US to get me the full-size.

Adore Splash Cologne in Kiss

I am not a perfume-kind-of-person, you can give me Johnson's baby cologne and I will be fine with it. I availed of this sample because I need another product to make the most out of my order so I pick this.

I love men's fragrances more than women's for reasons I don't know why. Thus I chose the Kiss variant which was inspired by Desire Blue by Dunhill. It has the Fresh, Marine, Woody undertones. To my surprise I actually love it! It smelled really good and seemed like an expensive perfume. What's more surprising is that I sprayed a few on my blouse one morning and it lasted until way past the afternoon! This is great for students who have limited budgets but still want to purchase a decent smelling scent. As for me I usually receive perfumes from friends so I won't probably repurchase.

DKNY MyNY Fragrance

This was actually a surprise inclusion in my order. I already tried this scent last year from Sample Room as well. I wasn't that impressed with its smell actually. It was too musky and woody and would fit men more than women.

Plus it's full size costs PHP 2000+ to 3000+. Stingy Jen full mode on, I won't spend my money on something as expensive as that. I still used it though and it lasted for shorter than the one from Adore... take note the latter cost around a hundred peso bucks only...weird huh?
