Long black hair is always fun style and to have. The dark, captivating, mysterious color is perfect for any season or occasion. Most of the time it is also considered very edgy and so versatile. I used to sport long black locks most of my life until I dyed them light and can’t ever go back anymore. But surely many consider it a favorite color for good reason as long black tresses has that power.
Try a DIY home or in-salon treatments. It depends on how much time you have; if you’re a busy woman you can always opt to go to a salon for someone to take care of your hair and avail of salon hair treatments like hair spa or hot oil. As for me, on a weekly basis and I do it on weekends, I put a hair treatment on my hair for an hour using a dollop from the tub of my trusted hair spa treatment that I bought from the drugstore.
Avoid brushing or tying your hair when it’s wet. We all know that this is a no-no but we’re all guilty of it. Wet hair is very vulnerable to breakage so wait until your hair is dry or almost dry if you need to brush through it, and always begin at the ends and work your way up. While it’s wet better use your fingers to comb it instead of brush. Also opt for a large toothed comb to protect your hair from breaking.
Try using hair extensions. We all know not everyone of us is blessed with long thick locks. Also, for someone like me who can’t dye my hair black anymore this would be my way-to-go. If you truly want naturally long, thick, shiny, and beautiful hair, remy hair extensions are made of natural hair will help you achieve just that. You can opt for hair weave that can be put on by an expert or you could try lace wigs if it’s for an immediate need and also the best type of hair extensions to get the look without the damage.
If you can, skip the heat treatments. Heat treatments meaning blow drying and curling irons. If you have no choice that you need your hair to be blow dry, choose between just blow dry. Don’t follow it up with straightening or curling iron. If you need to use straightening or curling iron, air dry your hair first and don’t forget to use hair protectants.
