Dresslily.com Haul # 4 + Review

With the advent and popularity of Mari Kondo’s tidying up one’s home, everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. Most people know about Marie Kondo from her bestselling book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. When it was originally published in 2014, Kondo had established herself as a Japanese cleaning consultant with a revolutionary idea and a track record of clients who never relapsed back into their old hoarding ways.

In one of Mari Kondo's book, Spark Joy, she gives out a guide that'll help people decide what to keep and what to toss across a comprehensive list of categories including kitchen tools, cleaning supplies, and even digital photos. Here the gist is mostly if the thing sparks joy, you should keep it. As much as I want to adopt Mari Kondo’s living less principles, I know for a fact that I will have a hard time doing so.

How can I apply that to my life when everything that I have sparks joy in me? Hahahaha! I live in a humble-sized apartment as an independent working woman and all that I have with me are basically, well, yeah, all the things that I need and might need in the future. I have a huge separation anxiety with things that I possess that even receipts from trips abroad that I have done I still keep in an envelope. Another thing why I can’t apply those Mari Kondo principles is that I keep on getting things that I really like. I mean I just did another haul from one of my favorite online shops: Dresslily.com. Hahaha! A girl’s gotta have what she wants and a girl’s gotta do what she wants to do. Period. LMAO!

Anyway, before I show and give out my review of the products that I got from Dresslily, let me introduce them first, just in case some of you are not familiar with this brand. DressLily is one of the leading international online fashion clothing and accessory stores. They focus on the very latest in affordable fashion styles, both apparel and accessories; they feature thousands of the newest product lines, providing maximum choice and convenience to their clientele. With a world of styles and thousands of products at your fingertips at great prices, with DressLily, your purse will love you as much as your wardrobe.

So here are the items that I got for my most recent Dresslily haul:

Crisscross High Leg One Piece Swimwear
Swimwear Type: One Piece / Material: Nylon Spandex / Bra Style: Padded / Support Type: Wire Free / Pattern Type: Solid/ Elasticity: Elastic

Here’s another good illustration on how I can’t KonMari my life; I already have one too many swimsuits but I can’t get enough of them. This might sound so vain or high-maintenance but I don’t usually wear the same swimsuits more than 2-3 times. Some that I bought either don’t fit me anymore or they don’t spark so much joy when I wear them again. And then there are those that I would wear more than 3 times because they really have become my favorites.

I love this swimsuit the moment I saw this on the website. With a uniform solid color hue, this women's one-piece swimsuit is a stylish choice for warm weather activities, hooray Summer! On the website this looks like green or teal, but, boy oh boy, in person, this swimsuit has a dark blue-green color that I super love! I mean L-O-V-E! This piece features self-tie shoulder straps crisscrossed at the back and entwined at the waist which give it a distinctive look. The back design was what really got me sold, as I haven’t seen many swimsuits that has a back design like this one. I don’t even wear any high cut swimsuit (and I probably won’t ever even if I have the body of Candice Swanepoel) but for others, they might find that this swimsuit’s high cut leg opening is very flattering and will make the legs look longer than usual, I mean, hello, legs for days, who doesn’t want that?

Valentine Day Creative Gift Faux Gold Foil Rose Cover
Product material: glass cover + electronic components + flowers / Battery information: 3 button battery AG10, shipped with battery / Uses: Décor, Holiday Gift / Product weight: 0.2900 kg / Product size: 10.00 x 10.00 x 22.00 cm / 3.94 x 3.94 x 8.66 inches

A lot of people close to me know that I’m a fan of Disney and my favorite Disney story/movie is Beauty and the Beast. And what represents this story aside from its characters is the Enchanted Rose which says how long the spell upon the Beast and the entire castle will last. This Enchanted Rose also has the power to change the Beast and all that inside the castle back to normal. When the movie was shown, I really wanted to buy a replica of the enchanted rose and have it as a décor to my apartment, but most of the ones I see are very expensive. So I was ecstatic when I saw that it was on sale at Dresslily. It is not exactly as the one in the movies but people will know it is inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

This came in a box and was place securely in a styro foam. The box was all worn out and I was worried that when I open it something is already broken. Good thing it was in pretty good condition. The height is just perfect not too small, not too big. The rose is metallic and the lights are around it. It’s powered by a button battery that can be easily replaced. It lights up so pretty both in day and night. It actually looks so magical! The only thing is that you can’t open the dome, which is cool with me since it won’t accumulate dust inside. I really really love it! Every time I see on my display counter I can’t help but sing: “Tale as old as time…. “

Long Sleeve Vintage Swing Dress
Style: Vintage / Material: Polyester / Silhouette: A-Line / Dresses Length: Mid-Calf / Neckline: V-Neck / Sleeve Length: Long Sleeves / Pattern Type: Solid Color / With Belt: No

I’m also so into vintage stuff and if only I can live in an era I would probably choose the 20’s and the 50’s. This dress actually fit perfectly around the 40’s and 50’s. The color is more of a light camouflage green and the material is thick but very flowy. I love its design so much as it is very feminine. I don’t know yet where I would wear it though. It can be very casual and a little formal depending on the footwear and accessories that I will pair it with.

The body of the dress fits me so well and I like that it zips on the side via an invisible zipper making it look like very sleek and of great quality. The length of the skirt part falls on the mid of my lower legs. I’m thinking if I’m going to cut it a little shorter so it will fall just below my knees. The only problem I have with this dress is that the sleeves are way too long for me. But that isn’t a big deal since I can have it easily altered by my aunt or the nearest seamstress. All in all I pretty much love this dress. I’m thinking of pairing this with a very sleek strappy heeled-sandals or with some ankle boots. I’ll update this post for whenever I get to wear this dress.

So, what do you guys think of my third Dresslily haul? Fancy any of these items? I’ve written the links of the products down below. Dresslily items sells fast like pancakes so there might be a chance that some of these are already out of stock, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find something similar or something that you will love on their website.
