TRIANGL MILLY Swimsuit / Bikini Dupes

I don’t know if you guys are familiar with the swimsuit brand TRIANGL. But this swimsuit brand has been creating such a buzz in the fashion world because of its classic styles but utilizing uncommon swimsuit materials for their product line. TRIANGL uses neoprene material for their swimsuits which is a very innovative way if you ask me because we’re so used to swimwear made only of spandex.

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber and exhibits good chemical stability, and maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range. It is used in a wide variety of applications, such as laptop sleeves, orthopedic braces (wrist, knee, etc.), electrical insulation, liquid and sheet applied elastomeric membranes or flashings, and automotive fan belts. In aquatics, it is commonly used as a material for fly fishing waders, as it provides excellent insulation against cold. However, neoprene is less expensive than breathable fabrics. The foam cells also make the material quite buoyant, and the diver must compensate for this by wearing weights. I was very intrigued of these new brand and breed of swimsuits so I immediately looked for it online and found the TRIANGL website. I was shock though, to find out that a pair of their neoprene swimsuit costs $89 and above (roughly PHP 4000). I am not ashamed to say that I am a cheapskate or kinda stingy and I would never buy a pair of swimsuit at that price, as in, no way…

But since I really wanted the styles and the colors of the TRIANGL swimsuits (especially the Milly in   Santa Rosa Splash and in Miami Mint) I had the gut feeling that there’s already a dupe (or replica) of it being sold somewhere. I saw something like it at Romwe and Choies but theirs is not neoprene, just spandex. So I searched and searched  some more and then I came across this You Tube video of a vlogger comparing her original TRIANGL swimsuit  versus the dupe she bought online at aliexpress.com; the dupe has very little difference with that of the original one.

I tried the link that she gave but the seller wasn’t selling the items anymore. Since I know that there are a lot of sellers on Aliexpress.com and that I had no problems with my past purchases at this site, I searched and searched until I narrowed down at least 5 sellers who carry these TRIANGL dupe swimsuits. And then I checked their trust ratings, feedbacks and number of orders; one store stood out: Leon Garment Factory Outlet Store

So I sent the seller a message to ask regarding what size I should get and also checked out the feedback from the other customers. Based on their size chart, I am size medium (36C bra size). So I ordered and paid for the Milly dupe in Mint and Medium. After a few weeks I received my package and I was super happy with what I got!

The material used for the swimsuit is actually neoprene. I don’t know if it is the high-quality ones, but gosh, I really don’t care! Although the swimsuit top had so many creases because it got probably squeezed or folded during transit, but if you soak it in cold water the creases become less and the swimsuit gets stretched while you wear them so they become less obvious.

The difference would be that the real TRIANGL swimsuit comes in a box (to avoid getting creases) and the back closure has a TRIANGL logo written on it.

The fit of the swimsuit bottom is perfect, unfortunately, I don’t wear bikini bottoms especially as skimpy (kinda) as this one. I prefer wearing high waist swimsuit bottoms since I have large tummy and legs. Btw, my TRIANGL dupe bikini bottom is size M and my hips measures 99 cm/39 inches

With regards to the fit of the swimsuit top, well it fits ok but I think the cup of the Medium size didn’t give enough coverage for someone with a cup C size. It is a little tight but it still works for me and it is tolerable and still wearable.

Since I wanted the Milly in Santa Rosa Blue dupe, I was not able to restrict myself from buying another pair. This time around, I asked the seller to make the swimsuit top Large and the swimsuit bottom still Medium. Also, in this order I also bought a set for my friend Nikki but hers is hot pink. The processing and shipping process took almost as long as the first order and thank goodness it arrived just a few days before we leave for our trip to Coron, Palawan.

Btw, you can order different sizes for the top and bottom, just make sure to note it in the message box and send the seller the message and reference your order number. My second pair, wherein the swimsuit top is L (and the swimsuit bottom is M) fits better than the first pair. So I think getting one size larger would always be a good move whenever you buy something from a seller or company based in China or Hong Kong, since their sizes usually run smaller than usual.

I am super in love with my TRIANGL swimsuit dupes! I felt like hitting the jackpot for having them without paying such a hefty price for swimmies. I couldn’t care less if there are creases here and there and if they aren’t real TRIANGL swimsuits, who will care anyway? Besides I am not brand fanatic, as long as I like the design or how it looks and if can’t sleep at night because of some stuff, I know I gotta find a way to have them.
