Get Effortless Big Sexy Waves The Lazy Way

I don’t know about you but I am kind of been judgmental of the perm for far too long. I have had straight hair for as long as I can remember. I must admit I feel my straight hair is boring albeit only some times. Yes, I curl my hair on occasion because I also think that curled hair besides that it looks fancy, it also makes hair looks alive and lustrous. But come on, if I got to be honest, I am a working woman and I don’t have the time and the energy of styling my hair with the curling iron all the time.

It would be very nice to wake up with an already styled look, like waking up every morning with beautiful beach waves. But no, that’s not always the case when you get a perm. I have had friends who went to the salon to get digital perms yet they weren’t able to achieve those beach waves and they end up with old fashioned and super curly hair. They also revealed to me that having permed hair is not wash-and-wear at all.

A perm will be permanent for months, they don’t magically wash out after a few shampoos. It is no secret that it as with all chemical services, the perm will damage your hair. And if you have hair that has been highlights, regularly colored, and other chemical hair processing, perming is not you. So what do you if you still want to still sport bouncy curls? There are a few things you can still do to achieve big sexy waves.

For one, and this is what I always do, you can put your hair in a bun or two. After I take a shower, I dry my hair until they are damp and let them air dry for a while leaving it still a little damp, then before leaving home, I put my hair into a tight bun. And then before I get to work, I remove the hair tie and run my fingers through my hair several times and voila! Lovely curls that actually lasts me until I get off work.

If you want to go for a more glam look or would be attending an event, you can use body wave  extensions that come in hair bundles. Body waves are a type of hair extensions that are light-weight, incredibly soft with loose S-wave style that can be manipulated easily: curled, straightened and colored. They also have the ability to hold long lasting curls and with medium to low shine. A lot of these body waves comes in real human hair, different lengths, and colors with matching closures and lace frontal making it blend easily with all hair types.

You can also utilize inexpensive tools like foam rollers and flex rods or use socks, foils (yes the one you use for cooking), paper, bobby pins etc. There are a lot of websites and YouTube videos that you can check out that you that do tutorials on how to use these tools to make pretty curls. They are pretty easy to follow and to do. You can put them on your hair and sleep with them on every night and take them out the next day.

Lastly, one of my favorite things I like to do with my hair, as it is or to achieve beach hair waves, is to put them in braids. Whether it’s French braids, fishtail breads or Dutch braids, they are the quickest and comfortable ways to get some nice waves on your hair. You wouldn’t believe it that I learned how to French braid my own hair after college. If you don’t know how to do, again, there are a lot of places on the internet that you can learn this.

Heatless curls are brilliant beauty hacks; some techniques are easy and some are not but achieving a certain coveted hairstyle doesn’t need to be costly or damage-causing. Which curling technique is your favorite?
