Authentic Italian Flavors at Trifoglio Ristorante - Tagaytay

Tagaytay is still one of the best places to go to if you want to have a quick getaway and a change of scenery from the everyday city life. There’s also no scarcity of places to see and locations to fill your tummies. Time and again you would hear that there is a new restaurant to try in Tagaytay.

As proof, take into account Trifoglio Ristorante in Fora Mall Tagaytay which is just at the rotunda if you’re coming up from Aguinaldo Highway. Trifoglio is a quaint little restaurant that serves authentic Italian cuisine and Mediterranean flavors that aims to surely capture your taste buds.

Owned by a Filipino-Italian family who spent most of their lives living in Italy. The restaurant’s name Trifoglio is of course an Italian word that translates in English to “clover” which is also a part of the restaurant’s logo. I’m not really sure why they used that name as I forgot to ask but after looking it up the three leaves of the clover are said to stand for faith, hope and love.

The restaurant has an inviting ambiance which reflects the classic old world warmth of the traditional Italian trattoria. Soft, warm colors, authentic memorabilia and unpretentious charm invite you to linger over good food. The charming interiors makes up for its limited space. But it has a good location as it faces the mall’s amphitheater.

We were treated with some of their best-sellers which are as follows:

Carpaccio Di Manzo - raw beef thinly sliced with a marinade of lemon and olive oil and served with parmesan and arugula. I love carpaccio and I know not all people like to eat raw meat especially just like beef. This is the second time I ate carpaccio that served like a salad since it has arugula. I personally love the taste of arugula but I usually don't put anything on carpaccio but this came with lemon which was squeezed that on the beef and the acidity of the lemon kind of cooked the beef, but still it tasted really great.

Quattro Formaggi Pizza - four cheese pizza. For a cheese lover, this pizza is such a treat. I also love that the crust is just right; not too thin and not too thick.

Pasta Marinara - mixed seafood pasta dish with fresh tomato. The pasta was cooked al dente and this had a very distinct seafood flavor and with a little tangy flavor due to the fresh tomato.

Tiramisu - a popular coffee-flavored Italian dessert. Probably one of the best tiramisus I’ve tried. I love the just right coffee flavor and that one of the layers seemed like it is ice cream.

I must say I was impressed by the dishes that we got to try at Trifoglio, it truly did capture my taste buds. I would love to go back there to try their other dishes. For sure it will soon become one of the must visit food destination in Tagaytay.
