The Best Beach Vacations for 2020

As we draw closer to the end of another year and begin to embrace the cold, dark winter nights, you may already be itching for some sun and sand. And we don’t blame you! So now may well be the perfect time to start planning your dream beach vacation for 2020. When it comes to choosing a destination, you want to ensure that you’re getting the very best out of your experience, which is why we’ve listed some of the best beach vacation ideas below.

Maui
If you’re dreaming of romantic sunsets, delicious food, and, of course, stunning beaches, then Maui is the tropical paradise for you. Known also as ‘The Valley Isle,’ Maui is the second-largest Hawaiian island, adored for its world-famous beaches, where you can experience the 4 S’s: swimming, surfing, snorkeling and sunbathing. Makena Beach is one of the island’s most popular beaches, due to its natural scenery and stunning views, and is split into two areas: Big Beach and Little Beach.

Big Beach is closer to the Makena Beach & Golf Resort and offers more seclusion for tourists, contrasting with some of the more crowded areas. Otherwise, you can explore the quiet coves of Little Beach (although it’s worth noting that it is commonly used as a nude beach). If you don’t mind being an early bird, you can travel to Haleakala National Park to witness the incredible sunrise over the Haleakala crater, one of Maui’s most memorable tourist attractions, drawing in 1 million visitors each year.

Barcelona
The home of spectacular architecture, historical treasures, and contemporary art, Barcelona is both the hotspot of rich cultural diversity and one of the best beach destinations. It embraces the finest elements of a city break with a fun beach holiday, boasting magnificent views along the Mediterranean coastline and the urban aesthetic of pioneering artistic vision. If you’re looking for a holiday that combines morning cocktails with stylish boulevards, then you need to experience Barcelona. It is also renowned for its gay-friendly beaches and nightlife, particularly in the sophisticated L’Eixample district. As remarked by Mr Hudson Gay Travel, it is the quintessential location for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in new experiences with style.

Bali
Looking for magic and mystery amongst the sun and scenery? Visit Bali, the mystical Indonesian island, filled with white-sanded beaches, deep-rooted traditions, and a spiritual wonder that will pique your curiosity. Bali is perhaps best known for its iconic Hindu temples; visit Gunung Kawi Temple – Bali’s ‘Valley of Kings’ – to see the rock shrines and Buddhist monks’ meditation sites, or take a dip in the healing waters of Tirta Empul Temple, a sacred spring that is said to bless those who bathe in it with good fortune. The locals are also known as some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet so that tourists can appreciate their genuine openness.

Praslin Island
The second-largest island in the Seychelles, Praslin Island is a natural work of art, with lush green tropics and beautiful beaches to enchant everyone who comes ashore. Its most famous beach is Anse Lazio, which boasts sparkling turquoise waters, swaying palm trees, and scenic boulder formations that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. No wonder TripAdvisor voted it the 6th best beach in the world. Yet, despite its size, Praslin Island still manages to be a laid-back, zen-like utopia for those looking for a dreamy beach getaway.
