Dresslily.com Haul # 5 + Review

It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas! While I’m writing this haul review it’s officially 75 days before Christmas day and as early as now you can already feel that the holiday season is fast approaching. In our street, households are slowly being decorated with festive ornaments and lights. Just a few days ago, a giant Christmas tree was put up in my office building’s lobby, and you know what? That made me all giddy because this is one of my favorite seasons besides summer.

Another reason for my high spirits is that as early as now, I am receiving so many things in the mail lately and I feel like these are holiday gifts, though they are mostly promotional items. Almost every few days I get a notification from a delivery man or one of my family members that something has arrived for and that really puts me in a festive mood. I wish I take shoot and write a review of everything in time for the holidays or before this year ends. But let start with the recent haul that I did with Dresslily.

Before I show and give out my review of the products that I got from Dresslily, let me introduce them first, just in case some of you are not familiar with this brand. DressLily is one of the leading international online fashion clothing and accessory stores. They focus on the very latest in affordable fashion styles, both apparel and accessories; they feature thousands of the newest product lines, providing maximum choice and convenience to their clientele. With a world of styles and thousands of products at your fingertips at great prices, with DressLily, your purse will love you as much as your wardrobe.

So here are the items that I got for my most recent Dresslily haul:

See Through Fringed Lace Dress
Material: Lace | Polyamide / Pattern Type: Solid / Embellishment: None

When I was browsing the Dresslily website looking for stuff that I wanted to add in my shopping cart, this caught my attention because it looked like it would fit the 1920s era – which I am in love with. I thought to myself, I can wear this for when I need to attend a Roaring 20s kind of event or party and just wear a cami underneath it, throw in some Gatsby-esque accessories and I’m good to go. I actually have several dresses and accessories perfect for vintage themed 1920s event, but I haven’t got the chance to wear any of them! But I keep buying! I don’t know why! LOL!

Another reason that I bought this dress is that I can use it as a swimsuit cover up for when I go to the beach or a pool party. It’s that versatile and the price was low so I guess I’m getting so much value for what I spent for it. The length is mid-calf because of the fringes. The lacey material that it is made of is actually soft and not like the other lace dresses that are made of stiff material resembling the ones used for curtains. Only when I went back to my Dresslily order information though that I learned that this dress was actually categorized as a lingerie, that is why I was surprised that a thong panty was included in the packaging it was in. So I guess I can use this 3 ways then hahaha! Talk about bang for my buck!

Foldover Strapless Floral High Low Party Dress
Style: Vintage / Material: Polyester / Silhouette: A-Line / Dress Type: Fit and Flare Dress / Dresses Length: Knee-Length / Neckline: Strapless / Sleeve Length: Sleeveless / Pattern Type: Floral / With Belt: No / Season: Spring, Summer

I don’t how long this dress have been sitting in my Dresslily wish list, but I know it has been there for a while. It is also beyond as to why only that in this last haul that I finally decided to add this to cart. I can’t remember, I’m guessing this was on sale. Anyway, I like this dress because it is so 1940s-50s. Moreover, the color combination of this shade of blue and the bold red is really something beautiful. The only thing is that this dress is meant to be worn on special occasions like garden parties or if your attending a daytime wedding. It’s actually pretty in person just like the photos on the website.

The fit is actually nice and I’m really loving the silhouette, it’s oh so feminine! As for the length and cut of the skirt, it’s a high-low skirt bottom, which is ok, but I’ll likely have it altered to a uniform length. The material is a bit stiff but tolerable; I haven’t washed it and hopefully the cloth will soften after I do. I like that inside the top part of the dress that they had put like an anti-slip silicone or rubber piping, just like the ones you see on strapless bras to avoid the dress from slipping and you flashing people LOL. Overall, I really like this dress and hopefully I’ll get to wear it soon.

Floral Lace-up High Leg Swimsuit
Swimwear Type: One-piece / Material: Nylon, Spandex / Bra Style: Padded / Support Type: Wire Free / Neckline: Plunging Neck / Pattern Type: Floral / Embellishment: Backless, Lace up / Waist: High Waist

Another swimsuit in this haul! I just realized that every time I do a haul, included is a swimwear and I don’t know why I do that but perhaps I have too many on my wish list that somehow, I have this unconscious mental note to buy them one by one. Anyway, I bought this swimwear because of a couple of reasons. One it’s one piece which is very flattering to any body shape and hides flaws like if you have a huge tummy and lower abdominal (which is exactly me) but flaunts your assets. The bottom part is a little high-cut but isn’t that too revealing like the swimsuits that are trending to day where the leg opening goes as high up as belly button. Number two, I like the shade of blue that it comes with, it’s more like blue-violet in person actually. Third reason would be that it has that vintage vibe because of its floral prints.

The swimsuit material is great but has lesser elasticity than some of other swimsuits that I have. Its back part has a lace up low back feature which gives it somehow a little sexy look. It has lining and came with paddings. I just didn’t like the paddings as they were tad too stiff, so I’ll definitely replace them. All in all, I like this swimsuit; To this day, ever since I started getting items from Dresslily, all the swimsuits I’ve got from them hasn’t failed me.

Crescent Moon Sun Pendant Necklace
Item Type: Pendant Necklace / Necklace Type: Link Chain / Metal Type: Alloy / Style: Trendy / Shape/Pattern: Moon

I’ve been seeing a lot of photos of an inverted moon pendant necklace on social media and I easily took a liking for it. At first, I haven’t seen anything like it in stores or online. Or if I see one, most times, they are a bit pricey. Good thing that the ones I saw from Dresslily and added to my wish list went on sale. So finally! Thank goodness! I am able to get a hold of one!

The length of the necklace falls just right to where I wanted it to be and the pendants are both a little less than an inch, size is just right for me as well. The only thing is that the material it is made of is alloy and not stainless steel, so it has a big tendency to tarnish easily, meaning its gold color will fade and will sometimes become bronze or brown. And since the pendants are made of low-quality alloy, it’s not a strong metal so it can break abruptly. I know that since I have lots of fancy jewelry made of this type of alloy. But all in all, how it looks and how it can spice up any simple outfit, I simply just love it.

So, what do you guys think of my third Dresslily haul? Fancy any of these items? I’ve written the links of the products down below. Dresslily items sells fast like pancakes so there might be a chance that some of these are already out of stock, but I’m pretty sure you’ll find something similar or something that you will love on their website.
