Beauty Tips and Secrets to Make Your Summer Great

Even though nobody can deny that there are plenty of beauty staples that you can safely use every season (we’re looking at you, red lip and cat-eye), there is always that little something that can be added to make you look truly flawless. Every summer we daydream about white sandy beaches and wild pool parties, but even though fun is right at your fingertips, you don’t want to forget about your beauty routine. We bring you a list of useful beauty tips you’ll fall in love with this summer:

Wear the right clothes
During summer, we all wish we could walk around wearing as little clothes as possible, but while this might be acceptable on a secluded beach or an exotic island, it’s highly inappropriate in the office. Still, if you think about people who live in extreme conditions, you’ll notice their love for flowy and light clothes. These pieces don’t necessarily have to be skimpy, but they are usually oversized and made of natural materials such as bamboo and cotton. Make sure that the clothes you wear allow you to move around freely but also that they allow your skin to breathe – you’ll sweat less and won’t have to worry about sweat stains on your shirts.

All eyes on your lips
This summer we have to focus on lipsticks a bit more – it seems as if the whole world is gone crazy over matte lipsticks and glitters. There is something for everyone – nude matte lipsticks are perfect for the office or the classroom while those bold and glittery ones are enough to make everyone notice you. Big lips are also very popular, yet women tend to overline their lips in an attempt to make them appear bigger than they are. If you’re not satisfied with the size and shape of your lips, you could try something else – the best lip fillers are hyaluronic acid and can help you get plumper lips or simply contour them.

Exfoliate regularly
We all want to catch some sun and get tanned, but if you don’t keep your skin smooth and healthy, you might not like the results. You will be spending a lot of time on the beach and showing off your new bikini, so it might be a good idea not only to get waxed but also get a full body exfoliation as well. This will remove the layer of dead cells from the surface of your skin and leave it smooth and soft. Pay special attention to exfoliation of the face – you should do it once a week only, because if you do it more often you can leave your skin “raw” and red. When you exfoliate, you allow hydrating serums and creams to penetrate the deeper layers of your skin better.

Keep your hair up
While it might be sensual to keep your hair down, during summer months you’ll see very few people who do that. The main reason is that it’s simply too hot to worry about your locks sticking to the back of your neck, but the good news is that are many great hairstyles you can rock instead. When you decide to keep your hair in a messy bun or a French braid, you’re protecting it from the elements and you’re allowing your skin to breathe. Another upside is that braids are an absolute hit this summer, so your hairstyle is going to be on point too.

Every summer brings new trends and styles, but there are things you should never give up on – sunscreen and staying hydrated, for example. If you see a trend that you’re in love with but aren’t sure how it would look on you, why not adapt it a bit? Don’t be afraid of experimenting and improvising when it comes to beauty and fashion because, after all, you might even be considered a new trend-setter.
