How to Make Your Skin Flawless AF

Summer is nearing an end and it is the perfect time to perfect your skin care routine. Having flawless AF skin is something every girl wants, but it takes time and effort. During summer, your skin is under more stress than usual and taking care of it and helping it recover from sun rays, salty water and heat won’t be easy but it can be done. So, here’s what you need to start doing as soon as possible to get that flawless skin.

Stick to a simple routine
The most important factor determining the state of your skin is your cleaning routine. You should clean your face every morning as soon as you wake up and in the evening just before you go to bed. It’s best to have a simple routine as too many products can irritate your skin and when it comes to sticking to a routine it helps that it is less time-consuming. Your routine should consist of three steps: cleaning, toning and moisturizing.

Find the right products
Determining your skin type is the first step towards finding the right products for it. Whether you have normal, dry, oily, sensitive or combined skin, you should know which products you should use. You will need a cleaning gel, toner and a moisturizer. If you are not sure about your skin type or the products you should be using, consult a skin care professional. Once you buy a new product, you should use it for three months to evaluate its effects on your skin.

Always use sunscreen
Summer might be ending but the harmful sun rays are not going anywhere. Exposure to sun rays speeds up the process of aging and it can lead to skin cancer. Knowing this makes it a no-brainer to protect your skin from sun rays. Still, people often forget to do this when the clouds hide the sun. Sunrays can still hurt your skin regardless of the clouds or low temperatures and you need to protect it with sunscreen every day. Buy a cream that is suited for your skin type and provides both UVA and UVB protection.

Get regular facials
Once you reach adulthood you will need regular facials. Your pores will begin to expand and your skin will start losing its elasticity, so maintaining flawless skin at home is no longer an option. Finding a trusted skin care clinic is paramount to having flawless skin. After a facial, your skin will be thoroughly cleaned, rehydrated, and will be much smoother. Hydrated skin will better absorb the products you use and it will make them more effective. Ridding your face of blackheads and other blemishes will also reduce the urge to pick and touch your face.

Drink plenty of water
Dehydration leads to dry, flaky, and tight skin. To maintain the right skin moisture level you have to drink plenty of water. Hydrated skin is rich in nutrients needed to regenerate and preserve the right amount of elasticity. This means that, by drinking plenty of water, you will actually slow down the process of aging and keep your skin looking and feeling youthful and healthy. Well-hydrated skin will also look smooth and glowy. The amount of water you need to drink will depend on your lifestyle and many other factors but remember - when you feel thirsty, that means that you are already dehydrated.

Treat your skin with a moisturizing massage
Every time you apply a moisturizer you can also treat your face to a nice, rejuvenating massage. Applying the moisturizer with firm upward movements will lift and tone your skin. Using gentle outward movements will help it soak in the moisturizer better. Therefore, combine these two types of motions every time you moisturize your skin and make sure you do this for two to three minutes. Not only will this simple ritual do wonders for your skin’s health, but it will also make it look simply amazing.

If you are reading this, you already care about your skin and chances are you have a pretty decent skin care routine. Making it great, however, will take just a few little tweaks and making those little tweaks will go a long way. You can have flawless skin if you stick to these tips. So do it now, no more excuses!
